I survived your Menasor and Fans Toys' Rouge and I'd rather transformed both of those 20 times over than ever touch this thing again. 4 solid hours, studying your instructions like they held the cure for cancer, watching every imaginable transformation video and fitting and refitting every single piece again and again, and the thing simple does not come together; And then after four interminable hours, the legs broke off and I just destroyed the whole thing with my bare hands into smithereens. You should be ashamed, just deeply ashamed, X-Transbots! i'm looking forward to filling out my tax returns as a distractions for not having to deal with your products.
@@GibDozer1 I think for a relatively small figure like this the tension can be more than enough. The ball joint works well unless it becomes loose and it’s easy to fix if it does, so I personally don’t see it as a problem.
@@roosjen I think you're wrong and after a couple days he won't be able to hold a gun up. With XTBs reputation I wouldn't go popping joints out off of sockets to polish, but it's your $. Probably be fine for combined mode but as a stand alone bot I'm not impressed. Maybe the shoulder can be disassembled to polish up the joint, but you're still left with the problem of it looking bad. This isn't a legends figure or mainline it's MP. Ball joints don't belong on major joints in MPs, it's 2021 I expect better.
Even the mainline doesn't do ball jointed shoulders these days. I had no interest in these beyond curiosity, but that transformation would've put me off if the shoulders didn't.
It looks like they managed to integrate way, way more actual car parts into the robot than the stunticons, which is nice. It does look pretty sweet from first impressions alone. Also, congrats on getting first look on this guy!
This is one of those you transform either to robot or car and then you leave it!!! Wow, I would never attempt changing this one. Excellent review Skully!😁👍
I got mine today (with Groove) and after seeing this video, I can tell you, he's staying in robot mode no matter what... I could feel your pain and every single emotion you felt during this transformation! :D Once I get to combine Defensor, I'll either duct tape Streetwise to the leg or I'll make a car mode out of cardboard and then duct tape that to the leg... There is no way I am doing this transformation!!! :D
I had to rewatch parts of the video like 30 times to figure out that front end!!! Finally after like 4 days I was able to make him look like a car!! He rolls really well!!! Lol I will not be transforming him back into robot mode!! At this point I will just buy a new one if a want robot mode that badly!!! Thanks for the review Bobby!!! Clever of XTB to let you take a look. You yourself often joke about your ham fingers so if you can keep this in one piece, anyone can. XD Also good to see preproduction reviews again. XTB needs this bad, their reputation got a huge hit of late and I am glad to see they seem on the way back. I just wish they would make Legends figures soon, I loved their bots.
Glad I cancelled the preorder. I knew that the transformation would have been a pain but I was not aware of those mini ball joints on the shoulders that seem to be more than fragile. I predict lots of people will be complaining for breaking them 🤷🏻♂️
I decided to skip the first release after so many troubled and qc issues with monolith set. The last qc which is now a wildly problem is that after a year in display, the leg joints of deathwish just broke by it self. No force what so ever was inflicted on the figure. As of today, xtb did send me replacement parts but the postal service's lost the package. As of now, i am stuck again as xtb does not have any parts left. It seems the leg joints in the Andaman look the same as on the deathwish. I think the plastic was of bad quality, cant really tell. Its a shame because the figures do look good.
Great review Bobby, I was happy to see this when I woke up. I have a copy in my stash at TCP, just waiting for a couple more to have them shipped. After watching your review I am even more excited to get my hands on this! I chose XTB for my defensor bc I have their menasor and a 2nd set of their stunicons for bot mode display. May do the same with these.
I really enjoyed this review. I only started collecting a little over a year ago but, I feel like this Harkens back to the good old days I'd hear about and know existed. No frills, informative, raw data and feedback.

Mine arrives today... and I really like the look of this guy in both alt and bot mode. It makes me wonder about my original plan. I was going to go with XTB for combined and Ocular Max for individual bots. So we'll have to wait and see how the rest turn out for XTB, but this guy looks impressive in all 3 modes.
I like the look of Streetwise, but I'm not a fan of the super complicated transformation. I think I'll go with MMC. Those seem more about fun transformations

You see those metal locks on the Arns ? They should of Spent the cash on real shoulders assembly’s on this thing or , metal ball joints For shoulders , because mine fell , a guess what ? Looks like the upper body transformation was designed by the same person who is guilty of Windcharger. Funny though, I think the legs transform quite elegantly here!
Also, this one was supposed to come out after their Springer. ShowZ made me pay for it before Chinese new year and now they took him off the incoming list and he is back in preorder status

Congrats on not breaking the figure! Positives Robot mode and vehicle mode look good. Love that it’s actually a Nissan 300 ZX and looks like the G1 version. Nice Paint....but Negatives that transformation looks brutal...no instructions, but would they have really helped anyways? Lol. I like a little challenge for transformation, but not like that. There are sooo many parts on the figure that makes me cringe thinking its going to break. Their Kup figure doesn’t make me feel very confident in new releases. Do you not show limb mode yet? I still have not seem an XTB figure that blows me away like I have seen with DX9 and FaaansToys. You should sell your XTB Krank and Stax now as they are going for ridiculously stupid prices on ebay. Wont matter when FT Huffer arrives along with a Pipes retool/repaint anyways. Good review, happy for those that want an XTB Defensor. Curious how this guy shapes up. Their stunticons were much cleaner. And that backpack looks like it doesn’t clip in or stay put like their “not” Hoist and Trailbreaker. And give us these goddamn weird batteries. If it’s an issue, how do we get other batteries shipped here?!! Who knows.
It looks great.. the scale is a little big, but Transformers have never been great at scale :) looking at it I didn't think it would be that picky of a transformation.. but it does seem like a lot of double joints have to be in all the right places.
I can't believe X-Transbots are going to release this one before they release Virtus!!! What is this company thinking, my Virtus was paid for in full ages ago and that was before they changed the price by adding a couple of accessories so I had to update the payment. I'm loosing fate in this company with every move they make, I may end up canceling Virtus to preorder the MMC version of the same character !!! I may be a bit pissed with X-Transbots about the delay of Virtus but I'm trying not to let that influence the way I look at this figure. It looks good and it poses well but in my opinion the transformation is way to involved. The overall look is a bit fragile, specially those shoulders and that tab on the hand, there is something about the overall paint that I don't like but can't put my finger on without having it in hand. I'm going to skip both X-Transbots and MMC Protectobots, I may end up buying them if Fans Toys or Takara Tomy decide to release them. Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.

The engineering that goes into these things is amazing but they look so delicate!

I'm glad they're gonna be in scale with their Stunticons, which is also in scale with the MP Autobots cars. I'm definitely gonna grab them now.
