At your handicap you don't have to take a quad on any hole. As a 4 handicap the worst you can score is double on stroke holes 5-18 and triple on stroke holes 1-4.
Correct, if his course handicap is 4, not his index. GS: Calculate course handicap based on slope rating from the tee set you’re playing before each round…then apply that system described above based on course handicap. Not your index. I believe that’s the way to correctly report adjusted scores. 👍🏻
Whatever you score on a hole the worst you can do for handicap calculation is net double (=0 Stapleford points) so if you played 17 holes in 2 under and the last hole took 10 shots it would only count as +2 leaving you with a level par round as far as the handicap calculation.
@@nicknick6788I believe that used to be the rule before World Handicap came in to play. Players with index 0-9 couldn’t report more than double bogey for ESC. New guidelines for World Hdcp now allow for “net-double” bogey on stroke holes based on your course handicap. Your course handicap can be calculated every time you play based on a mathematical equation involving your index, slope, and course rating based on what tee you choose. At my home course currently I’m a 7 course hdcp from the Blue/back tees and a 3 from the Red/forward tees. If I play from the Red tees, the highest I can report is triple bogey on stroke holes 1-3. Double bogey is the limit on holes 4-18. It felt a little more complicated at first, but, now I’m used to it. Plenty of RUclips videos out there that help explain it. 👍🏻

I play at a links course and I hear you about the wind. It drains you after a while. Doesn't matter if its into, downwind or across. Just tiring. Worst is when it changes direction just after you've had the tough strecth into it. Now instead of enjoying the 'hit it high and let it fly'. You're battling into it again.
Bet you've never had to think so much about each round in your life!. Working out that you need to hit a 6 iron for a mere 141 yd shot into a four club wind is a skill normally only someone Scottish can master but you are getting there. Golf back home in Thailand (or anywhere else you choose to play) will seem so easy after this!. Great video as always and looking forward to the next ones.
Hey Matty, rather than putt from (say) 50 or so yards out or from the fringe you could use your 5 wood or hybrid if you carry one. For example, on hole 12 where you duffed your chip would be ideal.
Panmure is a tough old course at the best of times, never mind the wind. Good to see you learned quickly to play the bump and run rather than the lobbed chip. It seems to be the only way to score consistently on links courses in Scotland. The 6th is a peach of a hole and is tough in the wind - a par there feels pretty much like a birdie on any other hole. Keep it up !
According to the scorecard hole 4 is a stroke index 3 so yes you get to take take a triple. USGA Course Handicap Calculator for a 71/128 par 70 course with a 4.4 index your course handicap was a 6.
Matt have you done a swing change? Idk if it's just the playa-vision but I feel like your swing looks different than normal. It looks like you're punching every shot. Keep planting birdies broh
Playa was psyched to see the driver get a chance (in spite of it doing exactly what you were worried about). Love the hybrid over the 1 iron and 3 iron but the Playa in chief knows best.
I’ve been watching as many of these as I can and noticed the tempo of your swing is faster than when I watch your videos from Thailand- maybe bring one of your Thai Caddies along 😊🙃
Recently I played a course here in Sydney on the coast line (The Coast Golf Club) which was windy all day due to being right on the coast with little trees and around the 12-14th hole the wind just died, it didn't slowly wind down it just instantly went from blowing a gale to nothing and I found it pretty weird to go from one to the other so suddenly which threw me off my game a little but it was also a 30°c+ day that was playing like 25°c with the wind so the heat instantly kicked in as well. It was a great challenge that I failed on the day but will return to conquer, I see now why you love links golf so much (not sure if that course is proper links but it's the closest I've come to playing it)
Can you take the quad? It depends. If you are trying to creat a handicap from nothing (meaning no index at all) then you have to keep it. Max then is par + 5. If you already have an index then your max is net double.
Handicap system, play stableford scoring. As soon as you get 0 points that's the max strokes you put next to the hole (computer will put an * next to it)
Loved that. I played winter golf at Panmure a couple years ago and it was in great knick even in December. If you haven't had a few fuc*in' fuc*s are you even a golfer? 😂😂😂
I mean, when miss the shit out of fairways, whats the point of dailing it down...i can usually poke the driver staight if im only swinging 65 percent vs a 3 or 4 iron at 90percent
