- Highlights of the great Willis McGahee at the The U during the 2002 season. The song is Can't be Touched by Roy Jones Jr. and I do not own the song and give credit to him. Please Subscribe & Go Canes!
The most complete college running back I ever had the privilege to watch.
8,500 career rushing yards in the NFL even after that gruesome knee injury- back before people really were returning from blown out knees like that.
There's virtually no reason to not respect this guy.
Those jersies were stellar can we please bring them back
I think so too...
My fav ones
Our best jerseys imo
Wish we never switched to Adidas
Favorite college running back of all-time.
Physical specimen. Incredibly strong and fast with excellent vision. Suffered the worst knee injury I have ever seen that infamous night in Tempe. I thought his career was done but he came back and had a very good NFL career. If not for that injury he would have been a hall of famer in my opinion.
He definitely had everything you would want in a RB.Damn shame we never got to see him in the pros at full strength.
yeah man, I wish he hurdled over the guy or did a spin move to prevent the injury, dude was a hell of a RB
McGahee is the only college running back I've seen in my lifetime I thought was as impressive as Adrian Peterson in college.
So fast.
Yes. Except he was faster with better hands
I guess you didn't see his "TRUE FRESHMEN" teammate Frank Gore run the ball "FOOD FOR THOUGHT!!!"
@@gsactotube Gore was supposed to start in front of Mcgahee and Portis.
Had he not shattered his knee against Ohio State, his NFL career would've been a lot better.
only way Ohio State was going to win that game was too intentionally injure him, he was just starting to " heat up" when he got injured
They celebrated the injury too they are just bad sports
YES, that shit was intentional for sure. He was about to bust it open on them. Then when they saw the canes we’re gonna win they had to put the refs in there for those bull crap calls.
@@gtamaster9768that’s why I still be not wanting to hate anybody but f**k Ohio state for that foul s**t
This was when football was “Football” not flag/tackle football refs throwing flags all game.
Greatest single season in Miami history, guy was a flat out BEAST!
This is why the 2001 Miami hurricanes are/should be the greatest football team to ever spawn. So much talent, and a team full of future NFL hall of gamers. Long live the U
One of the fastest runners I've ever seen. By the way, did any of you see how many horse collars there were in this video? Those would all be penalties now lol.
Highest Point I h just thinking the exact same thing. Mad dudes can't tackle him normally I guess.
Oh yeah. Now they are definitely flags
My favorite college football player of all-time.
Canefreak Y did you do this to me...goose bumps up and down..Willis my fav back at the U!
Still gives me chills to watch Ol' Willis run...Miami needs another McGahee right now.
the burst of speed on some of these plays is ridiculous. I've watched Miami since '86, every time McGahee touched the ball I thought he was going to score. The one play one this video he out runs Andre Johnson , who was a world class sprinter.
Ya WIll ALlen did ...with a dirty pussy bitch hit at the knees , just like every Ohio St pussy
Willis was a BEAST AT MIAMI. I reemeber watchin miami back in 2002. He is the BEST RUNNINGBACK EVER to come out of miami.
Willis was ridiculously explosive before his injury. As a Raven fan, I've seen flashes of it since he came to Baltimore but these highlights really show just how special he was.
The plays at 0:39, 1:35, 2:02, 2:19, 2:50 are perfect examples.
Best college football team ever, that 2001 team unstoppable
Wow!!!!! He was very explosive before his terrible injury.
I forgot how fast he was before the injury, and how good he still was after that injury shows you how great his talent was
What Ya Talking about Willis.. Go Canes 🙌 😎
well hes still known as one of the elite runningbacks in the league right now and hes managed to go from a speed back to power back with perfection. when your a speed back turning yourself into a power back is hard. and not only has he turned himself into a power back hes actually a beast at it.
Ya man I agree, its a damn shame he had that nasty injury there's no telling how good he coulda been, but still beastin' it up at age 31
My fave running back to come out of the U!
THE MOST EXPLOSIVE , GRACEFUL BACK IVE EVER SEEN PRE INJURY... he made a good career for himself as a power back with nice athletic ability, but he was never the same as far as speed
Its amazing he was number 3 on the depth chart behind Portis and Gore the year before!
What a beast. We had an unbelievable group of backs with Edge, Portis, Willis and Frank Gore.
cant wait to see him do this in Denver!!
Sick vid Canesfreak...nice work. McGahee = MONSTER! Welcome to Denver too! We need players now that have heart like Willis had then...LET'S GO CANES! We'll be back to the good old days soon enough...
Man i used to love this guy, him and sean taylor were my faves from those teams.. and vilma and santana moss and ed reed... basically the whole damn squad
after the injury he never ran like this again. he was pure amazing.
If it wasn't for that injury in the 4th, I believe that title game would have ended a bit differently.
I havent checked out your page in awhile but I just wanted to say thank you for fulfilling my request for a Willis Miami highlight. This is awesome man, my personal all-time favorite college running back!
Brilliant running, amazing strength. Shocking injury.
I'll tell you what man, between this play and that one where he got laid out in pittsburgh, this cat has earned every damn cent he's made in the NFL
Another epic video! Truly badass!! GO CANES! They can never keep us down....
Now this is the one that really needed to be done!!!!! Great work as usual bro'.
The screen pass at 0:41 was unbeliveable!
MAN THIS GUY AND MO CLARETT WERE AMAZING BACK IN THE DAY
still a beast
David johnson actually reminds me of him
That Knee Injury Messed Him Up He Would've Been A Beast In The NFL. 6'2 230 4.3 40 vision hands had some moves total package
now this is what i call a great vid. sweet canefreak2001 your the greatest
Wow!!!!! He was very explosive before his terrible injury. something worth noting mostly all of the running back except Clinton Portis had knee injuries
Guy was a beast
Had that devastating knee injury never happened, this guy would have been one of the best running backs to ever play the game...truly sad and of course it happens in his last game as a Hurricane :(
Dis my Dawg! My song got his number!
@BigSicily954 In 2004, Gore had 197 rushes for 945 yards for an average of 4.8 yds a carry. He scored 8 td's with a long of 44 yards. He also caught 10 passes for 106 yards and an average of 10.6 yds a reception. He scored 0 td's with a long of 24 yards.
Guy was a beast 👹
i RUN like this guy!
One of my all-time favorite college running backs. If not for that leg injury in the bcs. I believe the lions would have selected him at 2 instead of Charles Rogers R.I.P..
Beast!!!
Willis was the best back in seen a miami uniform. He probably would have been the best back in the nfl if it was not for injury.
The video is sick! Hopefully you will be pumping out some more in the future on our new RB Corp
Best jerseys ever
What's sad is, Gore was to be named the starter of the 2002 squad until he blew out a tire.
McGahee had a beastly year and was STILL beat out in practice by another.
@LB3is2Fresh his knee bothers him every year. and he sat behind ray rice. his knees been bothering him since high school. i love the way he runs hes not a big buff thick guy and hes not a skinny little fast back. hes inbetween.
Miami by far produces the best NFL running backs.
What a bada$$ he was
just imagine, the power he has today, with the speed he had in college. reminds me of adrian peterson... but more powerful.
@blackonefifty As a Niners fan, believe me, I wish Gore had never gotten hurt. I remember his freshman year, he was amazing. You can tell now that he lacks that elite speed he had before the injury
Dammn he is fast af!! Its a shame he got hurt
Dude was a beast
He scored more TDs in one year than each of the RBs that have followed him have scored in their whole careers
Impressive, but sad at the same time lol
i can't believe those injuries happen to the best players
Destroyed his knee in the NC as a sophomore and still went in the 1st rd a few months later
i really miss those uniforms
Will we ever have big, fast backs like this again?
Duke is the man - but doesn't have near the size.
0:45 That was a block in the back....LOL!!! Those jeresys were the shit back then.We neve should have changed them.
Look how fast he was before his knee was shredded -- both speed AND acceleration. He'd have been MUCH better in the league than he was if that injury never occurred, and that's saying something because he was still pretty good.
If he got in injured in college with today's medicine, he'd have that speed and power without a doubt
Damn that FSU guy at 0:49 was bookin it
This gonna be Lingard
Ima die hard Georgia Bulldog fan.I waz 2 young 2 remember Herschel,Bo,and Barry.Willis Mcgahee waz tha greatest running back i eva saw.He waz a beast tha season 4 tha U.If im not mistaken he wasnt gonna b tha starter he only waz because Frank Gore got hurt.My boi Todd Gurley remind me so much of Willis Mcgahee. He neva waz tha same after that injury in tha national championship game. They needed him when they were down on tha goal line.He had a great NFL career but he waz neva tha same
Miami fan here: hope Gurley recovers better than McGahee did. McGahee broke a bunch of bones and tore everything, I think Gurley "just" tore his acl.
Alwayz wanted 2 ask a Miami fan waz that 2001 better than that 2002 team.Tha 02 team didnt win tha National Championship but yall were loaded.Correct me if im wrong i like tha U but u would kno more than me.Mcgahee waz a better running back than Portis.Tha 02 team still had Andre Johnson at receiver rite.Jeremy Shockey waz at tight end his backup waz Winslow rite. That defense where do i begin.Vince Wilfork Jonathan Vilma Antrel Rolle and Phillip Buchanon waz on that team rite.Sean Taylor RIP waz just az good if not better than Ed Reed tha year before.Taylor waz tha best safety ive ever seen in college.Yall got a bullshit interference call in tha game along wit Mcgahee injury cause he would hav scored in overtime when yall waz down by tha goal line. But there iz no way Ohio State should hav been with in 3 touchdowns of yall.Hope yall get back 2 tha dominance yall use 2 hav.Lord knows i will never c my Bulldogs win a championship in my lifetime
Shockley and P Buch were gone. 02 was not the same team as 01 at all. 01 was way more focused and driven. 02 got complacent at times, but was still loaded with talent all over. The biggest difference from 01 to 02 was the line play. After 01 we lost Bryant Mckinnie and Dorsey actually got hit. 01 was way better than 02, but 02 was Damn good too. Boy do I miss those days!
Vinson Wingo The 2000 team may have been even better than the 2001 team but they lost really early in the season in Ken Dorsey's 1st road game, but ended up beating the #2 and #3 teams in the country, had something like 32 future draft picks including a bunch of future 1st round picks on the bench.
The 2001 team was insane and a lot of people argue it is the best college football team ever. I got to see them at every home game that year and outside of the FSU game and the Boston College game - they were in fast forward while the other teams were in reverse. They blew everyone out and on defense they were smothering. Ed Reed (IMO better than Taylor RIP) had something like 10 ints that year and Jonathan Vilma and DJ Williams were everywhere.
Willis and Frank Gore my two all time favorites
Yesss
I hope every person on that offensive line is in the nfl now also
@javycane I know you weren't talking to me, but Frank tore his ACL in 2002. I think that it happened before spring practice.
Great vid bro can you do one of Andre Johnson and Roscoe Parrish?
I saw a medical report bout repairing the ligaments in torn up knees. Old way was too sew the ligament back together, but this did not take into account some scarring issue or I cant remember, but it was not a good method. Then new way I hear is to use some part of the hamstring. I hear p. manning got controversial stem cells in Europe for his neck. Are stem cells an answer for this devastating knee injury? any help is appreciated.
Gore was down from '02 through the '03 season and finally came back in the 2004 season if I'm not mistaken.. Open for corrections by all means.
@popmusicblows92 Tebow got a win yesterday without Mcgahee in the lineup....FYI!
@BigSicily954 This is his most "productive season at the U. In 2002 McGahee rusd 282 times for 1,753 yards for an average of 6.2 yds per carry. He scored 28 td's with a long of 69 yds. He also caught 27 passes for 355 yards for an average of 13.1 yds per catch. He also scored 0 receiving td's with a long of 66 yards (which saved them from losing to FSU on their final drive). Is there a comparison here???
Did anybody notice how short Gary Brackett from the Colts is at 3:15. He is #41
At the very least, before his injury, this guy would have become the ultimate third down back.
@BigSicily954 It doesn't matter if Gore got hurt because it happened, you can't take away one of the greatest single seasons for a UM running back because the guy ahead of him got hurt! My ammo since you ask is that season and thats all the ammo I need.
@412students Fair enough buddy. You side with the stats. I'm gonna side with the coaches.
The run at 2:19 was also pretty insane
@MilesP777 He is doing quite well for us in Denver Fortunatly!
@BigSicily954
I know. It's why I brought it up.
baltimore!!!!!!!
Frank Gore and Willis Mcgahee both had over 1000 yards last year, only backs from the same school to do so in a while.
@bdelpilar218 His name is Kevin Beard, don't know what happened to him.
@blackonefifty When did gore get injured in 02 ?
Bryce Brown reminds me of this Willis Mcgahee
@Ginga yea mcgahee was 1 fast dog at 0:39, he lost a bit of that but like u sad, wen i watch ravens games i see a lil of thattalent come out from time to time
@BigSicily954 Willis McGahee was the starter in 2002 and in that one season he compiled better stats by far than Gore. They both played a full season, so I am not comparing his one season to Gore's injury plagued career. Let's get back to the original point I made and that is McGahee was better than Gore at the U. This is undisputable when you look at the stats. I agree that in the NFL Gore has been the more productive back, I don't deny that. All I'm sayin is McGahee was better at the U.
@412students I think you fail to realize that McGahee would've never been the go-to RB if Gore hadn't been hurt. Had Gore gotten the amount of careers that McGahee did in 2002 you would've seen even better statistics. Everything that has happened throughout their respective careers only proves my point. Gore was ahead of McGahee on the depth chart at Miami and he's currently WAY more productive than McGahee in the NFL.
mcgahee is my uncle
@BigSicily954 No I am saying that at the U, on the field, by production Willis McGahee was a better running back than Frank Gore.
This Hurricane team could beat ANY college team from last year: Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, etc. it doesnt matter.
were do you get your college highlights from ?
real talk if he never got injured the way he was hed probably be going to the HOF he was explosive and big hes lot weight now and shys away from contact looks scared maddd different
@1:42 I never knew Kevin Beard (#9) was that fast!
