Yeah that's right bud! All the tracks on this album are Drop C#, excluding the 2 extra tracks 'Shattering the Skies Above' and 'Slave new world' as they're in Drop D.
Yes, it's called a tubescreamer. There are a lot of variations, but the most used versions are the TS-808 and the TS-9. Both Maxon and Ibanez make them. You've probably seen them used somewhere anyway, they're bright green overdrive pedals. :-)
Escuchar trivium y rise to remain me hace sentirme triste por bullet for my valentine que le paso a BFMV u.u son mi banda favorita pero su nuevo album me dejo mucho que pensar
True. It's quite possibly the best unit one can buy now, if you're open to it and it's really handy for live-use on big stages. It's a costly unit though, so a 6505 might be more budget-friendly.
Metrivica! They should tour together! I have Metallica tickets for a show in Oslo may 23rd and I can't wait, but if Trivium was the warmup band I would jizz in my pants! Anyway, Trivium and Metallica, two of the greatest Metalbands ever! So long my brothers and sisters of metal!
oh. well i just ordered a les paul and all i have amp wise is a standard line 6 amp. no pedals. i really want that amazing thick metal tone that u hear bands like as i lay dying august burns red all that remains and ofc trivium have
Lol who told you that? Idk why more people aren't into them. I saw them live in Indianapolis at the vogue which is a small venue and HOLY FUCKING FUCK they were badass live. I was the guy freaking out to every song since I like them so much haha. Dude this band is sooooo underated..
That's your opinion. I liked the songs better on Ember. I do admit that because of the quality of Ember (it being their first album), that Shogun was a little better, and being a guitarist I found Shogun much more challenging and fun to play. Glad you're not hating on the Crusade though.
It's fairly easy, really. Pick up a Les Paul, have an EMG 81 in the bridge, plug it into an Ibanez TS-9 and go to a Peavey 6505. Volume and tone all the way up on the Les Paul, bridge pickup of course. TS-9 with gain at 0, tone a little over middle, volume maxed out. 6505 on lead channel with post pretty cranked, pre at about 3-4, treble at 6-7, mids at 5-6 and bass at 3-4. Presence at 6-7 and resonance at 5. Adjust to taste. :-) Then of course, play super tight.
I saw them live in Manchester on the 3rd of December at Defenders of the Faith they were un- fucking-beleivable ........ matt is one of the best live singers only person who can beat him live is James Hetfield
Yeah. I think Shogun is their best "guitar album" although In Waves isn't too bad in that department either.. it's just a step in a more "commercial direction" .. I wouldn't dis Crusade man.. hell with tracks like Entrance Of The Conflagration, Detonation, Tread The Floods.. that album is a thrash masterpiece. Lol I got into Trivium in like 05- 06 so Crusade did surprise the shit out of me when I bought it
No worries. :) I wouldn't get a 7 string to play a lot of Trivium, though. Most of it is in Drop C(#), which is really sucky for a 7. You either need to tune up, or your 7th is really (unusably) low. If you just want a 7 for other ends, it's a good buy, in my opinion. :)
It's a general idea for a lot of metal bands nowadays. A 6505 sounds best like this as well, in my opinion, although I've never tried a TS-808 in front of it.
Yeah, I hated Trivium for about 5 years because everyone said they sucked. Then I listened to them. I wish I could go back in time and kick my own ass for that. XD
I know this is 8years too late 🤣 They used to have drummers fucking up their tempo, now there's Alex Bent a living metronome behind Trivium's drum kit.
In regards to Hetfield, I think his voice was at it's best between 1995 and 1998. His performances on Load, Reload and Garage Inc were just awesome. He wasn't has rough as he used to be, and his technique and pitches were perfect. I'd kill for another album with those kinds of vocals on it, but I just don't think he can keep up anymore.
No. Shogun is their best album period. Not up for debate. Crusade and Ascendancy are both better then ember to inferno, considering they were all really young kids when eti come out it's still a beast metal record though
too clarify this point, metallica wrote great songs back then, they werent great musicians, hetfields vocals then and now are totally different...but his range is lacking in comparison to modern bands such as trivium, both bands respect each other alot. metal musicians in the 80s n 90s were fucking great, Pantera, Megadeth (Mustaines vocals suck), and many others. can we just lay off the arguments about modern metal and 20th century metal and just listen to the song? O__O
I think the Camera man had a fight with corey that day
Yal bunch of hypocrites
My favourite band. They are so damn good and Alex has brought the drums onto the same level. Incredible band
Give them credit they can play their shit live and play it well.....
loved the drums, really intense, very nice
saw them tonight in prague...best concert ever !!! hope they will come here again soon (-=
That Axe Fx sounds really, really, really awesome. Killer tone.
Nick's set sounds really good here!!
I need to go play this song on my guitar now! Can't wait for concert in November :D
It's 3rd best for me. 2: Inception of the End, 1: Of All These Yesterdays.
Yeah that's right bud! All the tracks on this album are Drop C#, excluding the 2 extra tracks 'Shattering the Skies Above' and 'Slave new world' as they're in Drop D.
Camera seems to really LOVE Matt.... Eh, I don't blame it!
*27 and yeah, he is amazing.
man, corey sounds like a demon at the end of this
Thanks brah.
yeah lol i didn't like trivium for ages because of some reason like that too, but i started listening to them and now they're my favourite band :D
Yes, it's called a tubescreamer. There are a lot of variations, but the most used versions are the TS-808 and the TS-9. Both Maxon and Ibanez make them. You've probably seen them used somewhere anyway, they're bright green overdrive pedals. :-)
Paolo's gotten alot better on the back vocals :o
BEST. SONG. EVER.
Escuchar trivium y rise to remain me hace sentirme triste por bullet for my valentine que le paso a BFMV u.u son mi banda favorita pero su nuevo album me dejo mucho que pensar
I use drop c# to play songs on In Waves, yeah.
I don't know what they actually use, but that works brilliant for me with most tabs.
why was corey not filmed he's a fucking beast
thnks man, i tried in c#, and works
True. It's quite possibly the best unit one can buy now, if you're open to it and it's really handy for live-use on big stages. It's a costly unit though, so a 6505 might be more budget-friendly.

Anyway, Trivium and Metallica, two of the greatest Metalbands ever!
So long my brothers and sisters of metal!
Matt and Corey both use Fractal's Axe FX live now though :)
very good band!!!
oh. well i just ordered a les paul and all i have amp wise is a standard line 6 amp. no pedals. i really want that amazing thick metal tone that u hear bands like as i lay dying august burns red all that remains and ofc trivium have
did you eventually get that sound?
that,s his studio tone but in this recording and when he plays live he uses an Axe-Fx II.
^mucho love
Its a piece of foam used to dampen sympathetic string resonation behind the saddles
🥰
You're beautiful !
Lol who told you that? Idk why more people aren't into them. I saw them live in Indianapolis at the vogue which is a small venue and HOLY FUCKING FUCK they were badass live. I was the guy freaking out to every song since I like them so much haha. Dude this band is sooooo underated..
I know, but even if the guy that asked had an Axe-Fx, he'd still have to know what to put into his chain, of course. Wonderful unit, the Axe-Fx.
México September 18 :D!!
Also a fair set of points there.
To quote the man himself though, it's all "Sad but True".
^^
It's a pretty straight-foward set-up, though. You can copy it to sound like a LOT of metal bands these days. :)
Why no shots of corey soloing? thats just shabby of the camera guys
omg i thought it was just me and i was crazy
"DAAAAANNIIILLL P. CARRRRTTTERRR!!!"- XD fuck i love paolo

OMG, how about keeping the camera on Corey´s guitar too?
anybody know what matt has between the bridge and stoptail on his guitar? little black thing. just curious
Poor Corey... No camera was looking at him. Or barely there was one or two.
I HATE IT WHEN THERES A GUITAR SOLO BUT NO CAMERA SHOWING COREY PLAY IT
matts all like;
"FUCK THE HEAD PHONES!!"

My comment dates back to 8 months ago. They weren't even announced back then, I think. They are solid guitars, though. :)
I saw them live in Manchester on the 3rd of December at Defenders of the Faith they were un- fucking-beleivable ........ matt is one of the best live singers only person who can beat him live is James Hetfield
i don't think anyone could have put it more straight bro lol
you doubt? james is monster. the old james vocals though was the best thing thrash has offered in music.live he s really good still.
Dude he's using an Axe Fx Ultra!!!
Yeah. I think Shogun is their best "guitar album" although In Waves isn't too bad in that department either.. it's just a step in a more "commercial direction" .. (8) I Don't want to Itch you,
But how can I not?
You killed off so much,
I held dear in my arse.(8)
Haha god dammit now I can't unhear it. Also does the camera man hate Corey?
can we agree that caustic are the ties that bind is the best on the album? lol
lol at paolo saying daniel p carter

Justin and Skrillex need to stop coming to Trivium videos just to dislike them!
nordic elf? there are high, wood and dark elves...correct me if Im wrong.
Lol so i wasnt the only who noticed he was gng like super fast
It's all a matter of opinion.
I actually really like this sound, haha
The drums sound a tad toooo compressed, but it doesnt really matter :3
Anyone else think that Matt looks like an Aye-Aye when he plays guitar...notably his hand and that long middle finger of his :P
1:40
I'll bury you once and for fuck, you're a monster.
:-)
Yeah, I hated Trivium for about 5 years because everyone said they sucked. Then I listened to them. I wish I could go back in time and kick my own ass for that. XD
shogun> in waves
post video
whats the tunning guitar? drop c#?
Is it just me, or does Trivium play faster live than they do on the CD? o_O
I know this is 8years too late 🤣 They used to have drummers fucking up their tempo, now there's Alex Bent a living metronome behind Trivium's drum kit.
Oh XD

does matt not scream anymore?
That's what I was saying. XD
Or you could use an Axe-FX :).
Bretons are only like 5 ft tall. Matt is 6'3
@mustaine1320 (i do like megadeth) but dave's vocals sound like a dieing cat
Clearly you've never heard of Devin Townsend or Mikael Akerfeldt.
o.O wait... i used to like this kind of music, how you call it? ...yeah, right! METAL!!! well, this ain't Slayer but still metal music
The guitar might have been underage... Can't show that on tele.
I noticed the videos from bands in this studio always have the worst camera angles ever.
"metal musicians weren't that good in the eighties and nineties" wow, your intelligence is astounding :L
*you're
Microphones fail ahah :)
yes
ember to inferno > shogun
a bit too repetetive and it miss a god solo but i still like it a lot
0:49 itchy ass lol
