Stick around an Aditum guard for a bit and he will say "My cousins are out fighting deathclaws and what do I get? Guard duty!" This legendary Skyrim dialog is a complementary easter egg for Fallout 1.
Did I not explained myself right? English is not native to me, but I'm sure I wrote that the Skyrim dialog is complementary easter egg reffering towards Fallout 1. How in hell an old game will have an easter egg for a future game? Are you mocking me?
"C D E D B D Ducks?" [Translation: See the itty bitty ducks?] "M R Not Ducks!" [Translation: Them are not ducks!] "O S M R. C D E D B D Wings?" [Translation: Oh yes them are! See the itty bitty wings?] "Y I B M R Ducks!" [Translation: Why I'll be, them ARE ducks!] They're still referring to bottles for some reason. Or so says the Fan Wiki. This is for those looking in the comments section for answers instead.
Its actually a really old joke thats not a joke and a story thats not a story, you can also have " MR Farmers, MR not, OSAR, CMMT Pockets? LIB MR Farmers
Thats like saying Vegas is now a playground for gangs. You dumbasses dont know what a gang is. The Trinadads were a real gang. When was the last gun battle in the streets. 1950s? The trinidads walked around with machetes cutting off random peoples arms in NY. nowadays its drive bys by cowards. I remember when gangs used to put heads in the desert to show they fucked up. none of that has happened in decades.
At 25:00 into the video, I recognized that conversation immediately. What Christine was doing was challenging the player to a brain teaser. She's actually concealing a conversation inside a puzzle. You read the letters in their individual form quickly to make a sentence. For example take a look at this sequence: svnex svfx svnem svfm okvfmnx42. Any guesses? This is a conversation in a restaurant. "S V N E X" when spaced out phonetically becomes "Have we any eggs?" The conversation continues, "Yes, we have eggs. Have we any ham? Yes, we have ham. Okay, we have ham and eggs for two." The brain teaser Christine used was very simple. She asked the player about ducks and the player asked her back for proof, and then agreed they were looking at ducks. There's several other ways to make that puzzle using different nouns.
Actually maybe the S is supposed to sound like 'has', and then be understood as 'have'?? I feel like not being American might impact the pronunciation.
Didn't see anybody mention it, but the "regulators" might be a reference to the Warren G and Snoop Dogg song "regulate", being that this is L.A. and that was a popular song for west coast/L.A.

They say Boneyard is called Boneyard because the city is chock full of the dead - skeletons of pre-war victims everywhere. Also, the city is full of skyscraper remnants who have lost all their walls, and only their rusting, hauntingly large metal-frame "skeletons" remain.
Congrats on 1 million subs Oxhorn! Ive totally fallen in love with your Fallout 4 lore videos and from the day i discovered them i couldnt stop watching them. You put a lot of effort in these videos and i really appreciate that. Looking forward to the many great videos you will make in the future.

Congrats on 1M subs Oxhorn. Just found your videos recently and I have to say I love how you go about them. Very informative and thorough. Keep up the awesome work.
You know the bit about "The game calls it Plant... but it looks like corn and cabbage" kind of just reminds me of how weird that is in later fallouts. What do they call Corn? Corn. What do they call a tomato? Tato. Wheat? Razorgrain. Plum? Mutfruit. Kinda wonder where some of the slang came from and why Corn somehow avoided it.

Can't wait to see Thursday's livestream and what you have to say. Fallout players and Oxhorn's community is the greatest. Congratulations again Oxhorn. Keep up the great content.
Something I think not a lot of ppl recognize is just the way Ox talks. It's informative its charismatic. Intelligence and Charisma is what his S.P.E.C.I.A.L is lookin like
I first found your channel when I was looking for a video to show me how the damn provisioners worked at settlements way back in 2015. Congrats on a million Subs you deserve it.
I know it sounds cliche but I remember discovering you at 300k like it was yesterday. You deserve this after working hard for two and a half years! Congratulations on 1 million subscribers!
Love these vids, listen to them in the car, your narrative videos make excellent audio books to games and I listen to all your ads as well while driving.
I think the conversation with the ducks around the 25:00 might actually be an easter egg. Buck Rogers was one of the inspirations for fallout and one of the robots spoke in a very similar fashion to how that conversation went.
I know a few things about the boneyard. How do you get into access into it? Be a skeleton. How do you do that? Well, as my friend Nash puts it: *”Hope a storm from the Divide skins him alive. Well, that's where you came in.”*
14:42 I actually read tarot, and the Prince of Swords is... Well, Chuck isn't inaccurate about it being a powerful enemy, though I've never heard of any readings done pointing out specific directions. But the Prince(or Knight) of Swords often does indeed represent an actual person, someone with a chip on their shoulder, a grudge against the world. This person often carries a superior attitude, believing themselves to be the best suited for whatever task is at hand - and, if things do not proceed as this person thinks they should, will not hesitate to take matters into their own hands. This often comes from an attitude of righteousness, and takes the form of punishing the perceived offender. So, not inaccurate considering what I know of the plot of Fallout 1, but looking at the deeper meaning is interesting in relation to the Master and what I remember of him from when I played this game. The Tower and the Emperor: The Tower represents not only great change, but change through violent upheaval of the status quo, sometimes outright violence. Often containing imagery of lightning, karmic justice is often dispensed during this upheaval, particularly upon those who have abused and exploited others. The Emperor is representative of mastery and responsibility, and sometimes represents a person, sometimes an ideal. Here, the Emperor could apply to either. Either the Emperor is referring to the Master or some other person who has taken much responsibility onto their shoulders, or could indicate that the Vault Dweller's own mastery of skill and sense of responsibility will lead to this violent upheaval. The Hierophant and the Prince of Wands: A teacher and someone who is an instigator. The teacher is often depicted as older, more balanced, while the Prince is younger, more headstrong, more likely to act without thinking of the extent of the consequences if he thinks anything of them at all. However, at heart the Prince of Wands sees himself as trying to help, and his intentions are noble. The Hierophant often advises returning to the role of the student, of learning more before carrying on. Chuck seems to be giving a more literal meaning to the Hierophant than to the Prince, however, so there would most likely be a teacher who can impart some great wisdom upon the Vault Dweller in the south, and the 'plcae of nobility' could be either a place the Vault Dweller takes, or someone else. Hard to say without any clarifying cards, but I'd lean towards the former. The Fool: The beginning of the Major Arcana, the Fool generally represents a beginning, someone stepping out on their path. The description of the art on Chuck's card(and my gods, I suddenly have a mighty need for a Fallout-themed tarot deck) is awfully simplistic and almost sounds like a more literal interpretation of the Fool than it's true meaning. But, he isn't wrong again; at this stage, you must be the one to decide your path, no one else can shape it for you. So, none of Chuck's readings are WRONG, they're just vastly oversimplified. Tarot is all about the nuance, about your intuition of the person and situation you are reading for in relation to the cards you pull. When you add the nuance, these get much more interesting, and seem to have a stronger correlation to actual game events. (Also, the t at the end of 'tarot' is silent, so it's pronounced like taro)
The "ducks" are apparently the Nuka Cola bottles lying around in the adjacent room. The "wings" are the classic fins on the bottle's base. I'll leave finding out how to read the meme to the enticed reader.
Hi Ox, just want to say I am loving the Fallout 1 story. My first fallout experience was Fallout 3 and always wonder what happened in Fallout 1 & 2. Love the videos and keep up the good work!

M R Ducks. M R not. S M R! C D E D B D wangs? L I B! M R Ducks! lmao...maybe it's just a joke from that time. But I am glad to find it in this game!
Got my sub! Love your videos, watching these Fallout 1 videos made me go buy Fallout 1 and 2 again. Just beat 1, I really hope you do Fallout 2 lore series even though 76 is coming in just few months. Thanks for all you do!
RUclips reset my notifications apparently, back on track! I no longer have a p.c, thanks for doing fallout 1. Its the only one I have really got to play, it's great to watch a complete playthrough
You know, given this Boneyard is in Los Angeles, and Hollywood is somewhere around the area, I kind of almost wonder how a game set primarily in Hollywood would go. (Even if they had to set it between the first two games, or something.)
I never had a problem with inventory disappearing from bags within bags… Curios… I’d put together a basic field kit into the bags- 1,000 rounds of a pistol amor, 5,000 or a rifle ammo (iiirc most of them were .223), a dozen stimpacks, and a rifle and pistol appropriate to the ammo. Id’ put these on a shelf in one of my forward bases, drop all of my own gear, take everything from a bag and then give that to a follower (or keep my gear and refill my own inventory, though that ALWAYS meant adding more stimpacks). A bit spoilery, but when I got to the Gunrunners, I chose the option that got them milling about, nothing more… You see, I dealt with the Regulators ALONE. It was a lot of fighting but I kept it outside the fenceline (to avoid the civilians). IIFRC (I might not), giving the holodisk to ZIMMERMEN at that point caused the game to crash, since it was supposed to activate the Regulators to kill him, and now it can’t. Mistakes like that are something I want to avoid in my Fallout 3 build…
Something to note. None of the endings in game canonically mention the fate of Adytum, Zimmerman's Regulators, or The Gun Runners. Neither does Fallout 2. We know the Followers made it, but their fate has nothing to do with the invasion timer(well unless you only first show up there after it's run out), you just have to kill the spy(who was cut hence it being bugged) and even if the Boneyard's 90 day timer was hit they'd still get the good ending, implying that the intent before the Mutant Invasion was ruined was that the Followers would flee. And the Necropolis canonically falls AFTER the Boneyard in the invasion timers. And we know what happened to them... I personally think that the Boneyard was taken by the mutant army. The Followers escaped in time thanks to their intel from Laura and rooting out the spy...the others didn't. I imagine the Gunrunners with their acid moat and high quality arms put up the best fight they could...
The "M R Ducks" joke has been around for a long time. Long enough that I remember there being a bar named "MR Ducks" (in Ocean City, MD) 30 years ago. (For all I know, it is probably still there.)
Stick around an Aditum guard for a bit and he will say "My cousins are out fighting deathclaws and what do I get? Guard duty!" This legendary Skyrim dialog is a complementary easter egg for Fallout 1.
Fallout was released in 1998, and it has an easter egg from the game of 2012.
Did I not explained myself right? English is not native to me, but I'm sure I wrote that the Skyrim dialog is complementary easter egg reffering towards Fallout 1. How in hell an old game will have an easter egg for a future game? Are you mocking me?
They seemed to be trying to correct you, but obviously weren't paying attention. You said it right.
Wow thats actually cool
Not exactly, I was going to make a comment to correct Stefan too.
"For" was written instead of "from". That's why it's wrong.

Funny, because Los Angeles is still a playground for gangs to this day and I live an hour away from LA.
Even in the post apocalypse L.A. stayed true to itself.

i live in la county so i dunno about any gangs

I don't understand how "s" sounds anything like "have", but I get the concept overall.

I always get so excited for your videos! You're the beat Oxhorn!
God man, you’re nearly at 1 mil! Congrats!
You know, given this Boneyard is in Los Angeles, and Hollywood is somewhere around the area, I kind of almost wonder how a game set primarily in Hollywood would go.
(Even if they had to set it between the first two games, or something.)
I never had a problem with inventory disappearing from bags within bags… Curios…
I’d put together a basic field kit into the bags- 1,000 rounds of a pistol amor, 5,000 or a rifle ammo (iiirc most of them were .223), a dozen stimpacks, and a rifle and pistol appropriate to the ammo.
Way to go 1 MILLION I started watching you when I first started playing fallout when you had around 40k good job man keep it up
1 MILLION SUBS!
Congratulations Oxhorn!
1 Million Subscribers Oxhorn!!! Congratulations!!

The "M R Ducks" joke has been around for a long time. Long enough that I remember there being a bar named "MR Ducks" (in Ocean City, MD) 30 years ago. (For all I know, it is probably still there.)
