I’m honestly really glad you’re enjoying the game and continuing the Nuzlocke. I wasn’t sure what you’d think of the game after the sun nuzlocke. I’m really liking it too, even if it does have quite a few problems.
I kept waiting for the party wipe at the end of the episode, all the other episodes were around 5 hours, this one is only 3:40. Never mind, projared lives on and now I’m just waiting for the next episode.
They need to change every gym leader into a strategy based gym leader instead of typing. That would me much more fun and challenging. And maybe add a difficulty setting so at higher difficulties all levels were capped and made equal like in real tournaments
You only sweep the gym leaders if you intentionally go out of your way to overlevel yourself and happen to have a super effective move, and the same can be said about every single gym leader in every previous gen without exception. The gym leaders in Galar have better moves, some actually have type coverage, and them being able to Dynamax makes their final Pokemon trickier to take down even with your own Dynamax.
You have to keep in mind he's doing a nuzlocke which makes these gym leaders look harder than they actually are. After finally playing the game for myself I can safely say that while one or two of these gyms put up a fight this is certainly not "for a change" as other games in the series had gyms that were either harder or more memorable than in swsh
Nah man, Black and White were some of the only Leaders with actual coverage. These guys get mostly oneshot if you have a decent supereffective move. Especially if you're playing with Dynamax allowed.
Death reel time once more. 1:31:35 for the death of a friend we've had since essentially the beginning. 3:22:55 and 3:29:10 for the deaths of two Pokemon who were caught in this very stream.
I’d love to see a Projared Nuzlocke rule: If Jared finds a new bug but has already caught a Pokémon for the area, he can release the caught Pokémon and keep the bug. It’s more bugs for Jared.
@@trevordelepine7708 No problem lol. While it's not Jared; there is a mono-bug Nuzlocke that aDrive did of Sword I think. He's personally not my style (too loud and in your face lol) but it's there if you want it. I'm currently doing a mono-ghost locke Nuzlocke in Shield. Sooooo many things know bite... 😂
The two biggest questions in this part are: 1- Why did Jared let Flissayla die? 2- Why didn't Raihan not use his attacks on killing the Loasuliora as it was wrecking his shit up?
Jared by complete freaking accident used his other Pokemon as meatshields, they took supereffective hits so Loasuliora wouldn't get hurt. It costed him 2 Pokemon and nearly Zagob.
Jared got so incredibly lucky during the Raihan fight, like he honestly could’ve gotten wiped, but I guess bad AI and plot armor wins this time. For instance, any ground type move from one of his 3 pokemon with ground moves could’ve been used against coalossal, Duraladon knew iron head, and with that becoming max steelspike definitely could’ve one shotted alcremie.
Jared unintentionally protected Alcremie by throwing Pokemon weak against Raihan's attacks as meatshields. Cheddar baited Steel and Rock, Martok baited Fighting and Ground, Zagob baited Rock, and Sandaconda would've used a Ground move against Guhbib but it died before it could. Weird and very risky strategy for a nuzlocke and 100% accidental, but it worked.
"What even was the Plot of X and Y and Sun and Moon?" Ok, in X and Y, I understand. But the story from Sun and Moon was shoved into your face hardcore. Even if you think it's terrible, there's no way you missed it.
Jared pays absolutely no attention to the story of games he plays on stream. That's why he's having fun with this game: because the story is basically nonexistent, and has been a gym rush from beggining to end. Any potential sidetracking stories are handled by Sonia and Leon, so things are kept simple enough he can follow them without caring. There's another thing why he likes this game on a personal level, which will be evident on the next video.
Sword/Shield also has a much better pacing than previous games, there's very little backtracking and grinding is almost nonexistant though you can still grind if you want to.
@@elin111 There's no backtracking because there's no side story. It's a Gym rush all the way to the finals. But in any case, we can't say the game has no pacing problems when the level gap between the champion and the last trainer you face is that big. You either fight the championship overleveled, or the champion underleveled, with no inbetween.
Funny thing is that while there was a lot that I liked about Sun/Moon and remember finding its story to be much better written than X/Y (which I found to be a total mess when compared to previous games, especially Black/White ), I can't really remember to many details from Sun/Moon compared to any other gen. Now, this is likely because I only played through the games once on release and started but never finished playing through Ultra Sun/Moon, but I think it's much slower pacing compared to any other game in the series + a (imo ) really dull region in comparison to any other region helped make it a wholly unremarkable gen when everything is all said and done. A shame because like I said, there's a lot that I did like about the games and it's story. I just can't for the life of remember nearly any of it
A while back, there was a twitter mob persecuting artists that drew fan art of Nessa that happened to choose a slightly lighter skin tone than canon. I presume the mods to make Nessa white are specifically in response to that.
The "Mr. Mime" says Bari Bari because the pokémon's real name is "Bariyaado" in reference to his barriers. Mr. Mime is just a weird translation, like most other Pokémon names. A mod that makes Nessa white? Who knows, maybe it's racism or maybe it's just personal preference. Still, I've always had a preference for girls with lighter colors (pale skin, light blonde or light red hair, etc) and even I find Nessa to be super hot, possibly the hottest Pokémon character to date (though I haven't seen all of the games). With light skin she would look a bit... generic and boring, I guess? Don't know why, but her very dark skin complements the rest of the character surprisingly well. Really works for me.
I roll my eyes everytime he starts to baby talk. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the playthrough and he can show his enjoyment for the game whichever way he wants. But I'll be lying if I said the baby talk didn't make me cringe
I don't really like the Nuzlocke rules, I think it detracts from the point of the game. But I understand why you would want to change things up when you've played a game so much.
I think it's a interesting idea... for a 2nd playthough. For teh first one, I would like the experience the game without limitation. I was thinking about replay Pokémon, so I may do a Nuzlocke to make the thigs different.
The entire point of Nuzlocke is that it changes the way the game is played. It's intended to add difficulty for the veterans that can beat a normal playthrough in their sleep.

F for Flissayla. He was never the showiest, but he was dependable, and will be missed

This game has the best gyms, not just for the atmosphere and soundtrack, but these gym leaders can put up a fight a change.
Nah only the 8th can. The rest are still single typing no brainers. Sweep with like one pokemon almost and one move

Really weird how the AI worked during the battle. The other Pokémon must've been a juicier target all the time for them to leave Alcremie alone.
I think he'll have to fight Duraladon again in singles, right? Alcremie right now is living on borrowed time, I guess.
Also don’t forget that because of Zagob’s ability Jared didn’t lose three Pokemon because the sandstorm would have finished it off for sure.
