  • A partial walkthrough of some, not all, of Brookgreen Gardens, in Murrels Inlet, South Carolina. We are returning in the next few weeks to see some of the other areas during a night time event called “Southern Light”. Enjoy and please visit Brookgreen Gardens when you are in the area. This is only a few miles south of Myrtle Beach and well worth the short drive.

Thanks for sharing this! The riverboat tour is wonderful. It's very informative and shows the property from another vantage point. When we went, there was a beautiful Great Horned Owl sunning himself on a grassy bank, and lots of herons. Brookgreen is such a special place.

I lived in Myrtle Beach from 1958 til 1969. This was mine and my parents favorite place to go walk away on a Sunday after church and lunch. It was beautiful then and still is today. I miss going.

Love this place, first visited as a child in the 50's then took my kids and they theirs -
one of the few places you can still see real art. My favorite piece is Boy with Squirrel.
Don't think your kids will be bored - they have a zoo and the otters are fun to watch in their play.
If your not a Southerner and use to the heat it can be a bit rough from June to August but utterly delightful to visit in
    Winter.

Mason is my spirit animal...18/ car maybe 18 per person seems kinda steep to walk in a garden. Glad to see this as we were thinking of going but did not think it would cost so much for a park

Moved here in April of 2022. I've seen an alligator in the pond behind my house, but no iguanas. That doesn't mean they won't be migrating north from Florida however...really big problem there.
