These songs are from their second album Queen of the Murder Scene. It is a concept album about a woman who experiences unrequited love, obsession, murder, madness, and suicide. Dust to Dust introduces the story. It is from the POV of the Queen’s ghost at her funeral. Dull Knives is after the Queen murders her crush and she is struggling with the guilt. She is slowly going mad and contemplating suicide.
Dust to Dust has become a classic. Being the first song at the Lunario concert which, I think, is where a ton of people discovered what The Warning was really all about.
Elegant is the perfect way to describe Ale. She is elegant, simply put. She presents herself understated, yet stands out. Her looks are elegant, her body language is elegant, as well as her bass playing, which not only elegant but sublime. Her intelligence, discipline and perfectionist attitude are now paying dividends.
I love this pairing, and that transition into DKCB, after the extended Outro of D2D! It was out of this world! Hard to believe they wasn't at full power this night after seeing this, but here we are! 💥
Both of these songs are from Queen of the Murder Scene, a concept album released in 2018 when Ale was 13, Pau was 16, and Dany was 18. The album tells the story of a young woman’s descent into obsession, murder, and madness. Dust to Dust, the opening track and prologue, introduces themes of life, death, and deception, setting the emotional tone for the album. The song features a Spanish spoken interlude performed by their manager Rudy, usually played on a backing track; however, in the Pepsi Center video, the backing track is mixed much quieter, with crowd microphones turned up so you can hear the audience performing the spoken part. For this performance, the band also added an extended outro that isn’t on the studio recording. Dull Knives (Cut Better), the 9th track from Chapter 3, shows the protagonist’s growing despair and internal struggle, where her evil side is beginning to win. Behind the scenes, the band revealed they tried to extend Dull Knives, but ultimately decided to keep it short, recommending listeners replay it if they feel it’s too brief.
Pau always makes me smile. Dany gets my blood pumping. Ale always melts my heart. Ale is elegance and grace personified. Fans have frequently recounted their experience seeing The Warning live. Many have ‘flocked’ to be in Ale’s side of the stage! They just don’t want to miss the little things she does that the cameras in videos often miss.
I’m happy I started you down the rabbit hole of this band .It’s great to see a reactor become a real fan .They just reel you in because of how talented they are ..they ooze Rockstars …🤘🔥
In an album chock-full of memorable lines, "I'm plucking roses, but keeping the thorns" has always stood out to me. To think that none of them had reached the age most kids graduated High School yet when this was written - heck, Ale likely was just _barely_ High School age (if that) at the time this album started development. It truly boggles the mind...
Mrs. Realistic, anither amazingvreaction. Key word, REACTION! I love that i can see you nitjce brilliance when it happens. For instance, Pau's amazing antics while drumming her heart out. I hate when I'm watching a stone-faced reaction. Watching yiu react makes me feel again, the things i fekt tge furst time i watched these vids. So I get all the feels again, the chills, lump in the throat, and yes, even tears. You are becoming my favoritest reactor. Keep up the good work.
In their home practice studio, The Warning Cave, they have full length mirrors in front of them on the front wall so they can watch themselves while practicing. One of the ways that they learned their stage presence. They also had class(es) while they attended the summer program at Berklee College of Music in Boston about 9 years ago that discussed stage presence among many other music business related items. You throw in the song Queen of the Murder Scene with D2D and DKCB and they are the 3 hardest hitting songs from the Queen of the Murder Scene (QOTMS) album.
So much hard work, great to see them starting to reap the rewards. They killed it at the MTV EMAs (on the main stage and prime time where they belong) and looked classy and amazing on the red carpet.
I’ve paused your reaction to probably repeat what I’ve said before, many times. Thank you for making the band full screen! So many reactors make it about themselves and not the band. There is so much to see about the performance, the stage, the 3 sisters, their facial expressions, the audiences - and you put it front and centre. And yet we can still you see and your expressions!! Thank you!
That's so nice of you, thanks! It's funny because we started doing the reactions this way out of pure necessity. We don't have a dedicated room that we can have as just a "RUclips room" as many others do (we can't afford a 5-bedroom 😄) so we use the office which isn't nice to look at. We figured, hey we can just use a green screen and no one will see the ugly room! Now I get a lot of comments about how people prefer it to the way most reactors do it. I must admit... before I had my own channel, I used to watch a few reactors and half the time I couldn't SEE the video they were reacting to because the window was too small. I'm happy you enjoy the set up! Lord knows it took some time to get to where we are today. My next exciting addition will be a good DSLR camera rather than the cheap "web cam" we use now! Cheers my Canadian friend! 🇨🇦 🇺🇸
I "discovered" The Warning two weeks ago by accident when I listened to their "Enter Sandman" video from many years ago (when they were just kids). Now, I realize my 68 year old memory isn't as good as it once was, but I swear I haven't heard rock & roll until The Warning! Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad, Kiss and all the others have faded into the oblivion of meaningless noise in the recesses of my mind. These ladies will rule the music scene for years!
@@Leo-dd7om I know it is not a popularity contest. I asked because I do not see any active bands who can match The Warning (for me). The last one for me was Nightwish in its original form. Iron Maiden has been great but I would discuss if they are a real active band (writing new great music) or just an echo of past glory. The other two are fine but I prefer The Warning to both. This is just my preference and it is not better than yours. I just explain why I asked.
I would have to say that nightwish is in the top for me too, just for originality and amazing musical arrangements. But I know I'll miss Marko and Jukka.
I really enjoy watching your reactions! I like your setup (Big screen small reactor), its perfect. You also know your stuff! Giving a big nod to Ale and her ability to play bass seemingly effortlessly! (The Alanis cover comes to mind). A couple of nice communications between Ale and Dany to take note of. At the 4:30 mark they agree that they are going to go out on the catwalk for the big ending to D2D. Then again at 8:40 they are communicating again about going up beside Pau for the finale. This is all whilst killing it musically. Talent to spare. I also loved your freeze frame at the end. Just look at Pau. Pau doing Pau. Warms your heart.
Excellent comment - I just love how Dany and Ale look during the extended outro for D2D -- look as epic as anybody in rock; and also love how Dany and Ale are next to Pau at the end of Dull Knives --- not sure why but something about their proximity just really works!!
Ale actually moves around less now than she did 5-6 years ago. I would love the crowd reaction if they switched guitars on a song. I can't remember the song but it was a long time ago and a video with Dany playing bass and Ale playing guitar in the Warning cave.🤩
Yes they are absolutely live. If you watch this whole concert, 23 songs, its obvious because they interact and talk to the crowd. The drummer Paulina actually breaks down and cries on the panio at the end of the song Breathe.
This has become the song I suggest for people to check out TW now. Two amazing songs combined to make a huge banger. I agree their stage presence is next level awesome thank you great reaction.
I’m sure many of us would love a three hour concert where they go through every one of their songs as the artists they are now. Ok…maybe four hours. Great reaction!
Another one I have been waiting for. Possibly 2 of their best and heaviest then released together from the same show. Pfffft, does it get any better. Love that you loved this!❤️🤟🏼🍺💪🏼
Dust To Dust, the first TW song I ever heard, the Lunario version, and it's one of my favorite TW songs. At the Whisky A Go Go, Ale played an extended intro to D2D that reminds me of the beginning of "The Red And the Black" by Iron Maiden.
Great reaction! Thank you Mrs. Realistic! Lo has dicho muy bien, Ética de Trabajo! Gran talento natural y mucho, mucho trabajo y disciplina. Presencia impactante en el escenario, canciones épicas. The Warning!
You are so right about The Warning: talent, hard work, love for music gets this type of performance!! And yes Ale just makes her bass playing seem effortless!
Danys vocals have improved so much. Its effortless to her. Paulina shows why she was chosen Drumeo rock drummer of the year. Ale is as cool as they come. Always check out these songs at the Teatro Metropolitan show. Same tour. Smaller production and you wont hear the crowd as much. The Metro show evolved out of the Mayday tour. Then they incorporated some of the newer songs for Pepsi Center. Both shows are great.
Thank you Mrs. R. for doing my request (kind of forgot about it😁😁) Two absolutely banger songs back to back, who could ask for more. The Ladies put the E in EPIC with this concert. We all know they worked hard on their stage presence and all but honestly just think they are having a blast and their love of music and playing for us just continuously shines through. We are very blessed to be alive in the time of The Warning. Think I may have another request in...hmmm.... lose track sometimes. 😀😀😀😀
Great reaction, just think... Ale came up with the bass line on D2D and Pau told her to keep playing it, then out of thin air Dust 2 Dust was born for our ears to enjoy. I believe Ale was 10 when she wrote that bass line. The Warning are my absolute favorite band of all time. I believe I mentioned to you in the past that I'm also a musician since I was 6 years old and The Warning is putting the excitement back in music. VIVA THE WARNING PARA SIEMPRE!!
Another great reaction, these ladies are so incredible. You should React to Automatic Sun, they played it live at the MTV EMA's last night. Wow it was amazing!!!
I know there are a lot of good bands out there, but for me, this is what it's all about. The only thing better that I have seen from them is the performance they did a few days ago at the EUROPEAN MUSIC AWARDS MTV in Manchester, UK where they melted everyone's face playing AUTOMATIC SUN.
QotMS is still my favorite album of theirs and these songs are a big reason why. The fact that they were all teenagers when they made it is kinda insane.
I’m not OG but I discovered The Warning just as The Error songs were being released (Money was the video that popped up in my sidebar and grabbed me), and just before the Teatro concert was released. So I consider my self lucky in that my first exposure to most of their early songs were original, or close to original, releases, not later concerts. Like the XXI Century Blood music video, Survive at TedX 2017, Dust to Dust at Lunario, their very first Enter Sandman video and then the official video for their Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara. I feel that new fans that only watch these songs at Teatro and Pepsi, will never fully experience the full impact of each song. So my point is, you really, really should go back and watch Dust to Dust at Lunario! And you get the Rudy bonus!!!
@@MrsRealistic you do a great job and everyone would appreciate it, even if it’s not perfect. You have a great ability to appreciate the music and artistry, and that says a lot!
Hola amiga. Justo has metido un pie en el lado oscuro de la obra de The Warning. The best 7 minutes of Hard Rock in a very long time, awesome.
