    Student of the masterclass - Ignas Maknickas (Lithuania), Royal Academy of Music /prof. Joanna MacGregor class/
    Pianist Ignas Maknickas was born in California in 1998 and raised in Lithuania. In 2017 Ignas graduated from the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Art (Nacionalinė M. K. Čiurlionio menų mokykla) in Vilnius. The School-Leaving Certificate with Honours was presented to him by the President of Lithuania, H.E. Dalia Grybauskaitė. Since September 2017 Ignas has been studying with Professor Joanna MacGregor at the Royal Academy of Music, on a full scholarship.
    Ignas has appeared in Austria, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Poland, Russia, the UK and USA. He has played for the Swedish Royal Family’s delegation in Vilnius and participated in such festivals as the PianoTexas, Mozarteum Summer Academy, Oxford Piano, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, MusicFest Perugia and Vilnius Piano. Recently Ignas had solo recitals at the Steinway Hall in London, the Vaidilos Theatre in Vilnius, Kinross House in Scotland and Charlottenborg Festival Hall in Copenhagen.
    Ignas has attended masterclasses with Dmitri Bashkirov, Imogen Cooper, Christopher Elton, and many others. Performed as soloist with the Aarhus Symfoniorkester, Alicante Philharmonic, Brunensis Virtuosi Opera Symphony, Dartington Symphony, Lithuanian National Symphony, Lithuanian State Symphony, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra - LKO, London Mozart Players and other orchestras.
    Ignas has taken 1st Prize at the XIX Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Youth in Szafarnia, 1st Prize at the XX Piano Competition “Young Virtuoso” in Zagreb, and 3rd Prize at the Piano Competition in Enschede. Most recently he has won 3rd Prize at the Aarhus Piano Competition 2019 and was a semi-finalist at the 2017 Young Concert Artists Auditions in NYC, USA.
    Honours include “Letters of Appreciation” from the President of Lithuania and the “Little St Christopher’s Award”. Since 2016 he has been an Artist of the Arts Global Foundation. Ignas is a recipient of the Molyneaux Prize in 2018, and an ABRSM Scholarship Award in 2019.

    Almost every mr. Andsnes said seemed so obvious , nothing escaped his attention, and yet mr. Macknickas still played beautiful because of his natural musicality and unity with piano instrument , sometimes not being able to break himself and fully follow the leads.
