I´m not very much into the choppers, but this is a great build. The engineering of the frame and the re-engineering of the motor are awesome. This is, without any doubt, a unique concept bike.
BMW once said in their old commercials some sort of like NOTHING IS PERFECT, BUT IF YOU BUY A BMW IT'S ALMOST PERFECT. One needs a lot of courage to say that about perfection.
I love my BMW R1200c . I have always love the idle shake side to side . Then when I crack the throttle the motor wants to pull the bike to one side . I just love that . No other bike is like that if you dont count the Ual .
With this build (and presumably others will follow...) we all know that a 1200 cc BMW cruiser is coming. this is just a first step in their marketing plan. I am a big BMW boxer twin fan and I can't wait to see the finish product. Hopefully it will be more accessible than the R18...
People tend to forget that motorbikes are ment to be driven...what's the point of having a bike that's so difficult to drive and dangerous(breaks badly)?! This is Art....nothing else, try doing road trips over 300 kms. When I was younger loved these kind of bikes, even built a sketchy cafe racer...beautiful bike, but horrendous to drive, all I could do is drive it to coffee shop have a drink and show it off, a perfect conversation piece!!
Respect, but i dont like this bike. Respect to handcraft skills of the Boulder. I always say „a Little less is more“ but this is to clean. I am riding a 77 R60/7 and it still runs like a swiss clock! Greatings from Bavarian Forest!
I rode many BMWs and still have a few of them. This one is a joke for me, technically, aesthetically, a danger to be driven… there’s not a single concept that we have seen many many times before… . I understand BMW wants that cool factor in marketing, but this is too much.
What you're witnessing is creativity in action. One thing leads to another and every build is a learning experience for the next project. This is a nice toy and an absolutely stunning piece of art. Not designed for commuting or mass production. Just another page in his sketchbook.
I understand this is way beyond anything that you have ever imagined. It's OK to feel uneasy and a bit thrown off by unusual designs but such was the journey of Harley-Davidson. Quirky is definitely cool and minimalism looks stunning in the age of overconsumption and warped economies.
@@Comrade134 agree on your main thoughts but personally I feel this particular design is not that cool because it revisits concepts that we see all the time with HD (honestly I’m not a big fan of this brand and culture associated with). Minimalism and warped economies do not match here well when the price of this machine probably is important and they are partnering one of the biggest car companies in one of their marketing actions.
@@angelvinas just like the cafe racer movement inspired the creation of the BMW R9T model so can the chopper community serve as an inspiration for future models and future concepts. If Harley-Davidson did not exist then maybe BMW would not have tried so hard to outdo the competition and they could have settled to producing basic safe and functional ugly European machines.
@@Comrade134 good point. The R9T is one of my favorite bikes, I bought one when it was announced and still enjoy it. It’s influenced by cafe racer, yes… but it has so much personality and bold design elements such as the alu cast frame, the tank or the asymmetrical air intake. My point is that I don’t see anything new in this bike, the design is not my cup of tea and handling must be painful. I am sorry but for me (totally subjective) this bike doesn’t add anything interesting, it’s just a marketing exercise of a big brand partnering supposedly cool guys to show how supposedly cool is the brand. For me it’s a fail
Nope, sorry looks like a waste of a great engine, form over function, loverly fabrication, welding etc, but just no, R nine T urban (which i love) rider.
There's R nineT's I've loved. There's also ones that I haven't loved or even liked. But never before was there one that I hated. That just changed today. There's nothing about this build that is any good. Judging by the lack of color change from the titanium headers, this filming is likely the first or second time it's even run for more than five minutes. Another useless bike build just to say "we did it"
I want that bike!
That is what BMW should have made!
Example of Style over: Safety, Practical, Useful,
Why people hate BMW?!
Because BMW exceeds perfection standards that rest of the market needs to calibrate their standards to match BMW.

German TÜV* says "no way"!!!
*Technical Supervisory Association
TÜV says NEIN!

Congrats Nigel, a true masterpiece.
To be honest, I’m not surprised.
Best of luck at BF13
All I like is the engine... !

Amazing ❤
Made it real it's so good looking
😍👍
First comment 😀😀😀
Respect you BMW from india
The love for bmw..........
I would guess the mag is a stock Morris or Joe Hunt item for the Yam XS650 parallel twin which i believe has a 180 degree firing order.
I dig.

Tell me this is a kit now !!!!!
Can I get one with a sidestand?
weird but very well done
They call me BMW fanboy buy my OCD needs perfection, and BMW fulfills that.

Worse handle , just looks good, extremely hard to control and very tiresome, no other position and place for hands.
Foot positioning looks like a big fail. I wouldn't want to ride that for more than a few miles
First like and comment though 😋
Dislikes brought to you by Harley Davidson lol
And knees, shins and asses.
Comfort wasn’t even remotely a concern in this build.
Well, THAT'S boring.

Nerealus projektas! Yra kampų kur buvo galima kitaip padaryti, bet gerulis!

Uncomfortable, illegal, “a really difficult thing to ride,” with brakes that “don’t quite work well.” Bravo?

My knees hurt just looking at the guy riding it.
