Great shoe review, Jared. I am also running NYC marathon. Planning to do in EP4 (still one more run to test ) or will go with SB2. I've also ran 18+ miles in AP3 but I think will go with EP4 or SB2 for Marathon.
I have it. Love it. I am a heel striker and slow runner.. Heel is crap but shoe is great. Cielo X1 is amazing. In have wide feet and Cielo X1 and Mach X2 in wide are great.
Good review! Mach 6 is my favorite shoe. I'm on my 3rd pair. I have been thinking about getting Mach X 2. Sounds like it would pair well with Mach 6. Good luck with your upcoming races!
Stability is very good in the Endorphin Elite and Endorphin Pro 4. I love the wide toebox in a Endorphin Elite but the Endorphin Pro 3 and 4 just feel so much better for me being slow.. Agree with you that the Vaporfly and Metaspeed Sky and Edge are very narrow in the heel and I need to think how I land.. Definitely not for a Marathon for me. I do love the Alphafly V2 and Adidas Pro 3. Both very stable.
i have not run in any of those shoes, but i still will make a recommendation. In my 30th i ran a few marathon races myself, mostly in the 3:15 to 3:30 range. Back then my weight was around 175 pounds as a 6 feet tall runne with a 10k speed around 40 minutes. Back then there were no fancy shoes, but there were so called racing shoes on the market, shoes with no midsole, you could feel every small object through the sole, very uncomfortable to wear and no help during any run. I am sure every new daily trainer is better suited for a marathon than those shoes. I am sure you could run in any of the shoes you mentioned, and in my opinion it all boils down on the effects on your mindset No way i would try out another new shoe before the marathon, that is more confusion than you want. You need to run in shoes you put trust. So the big question is: Do you trust the Endorhine pro 4 despite the fact, that the result of the marathon was not what you wanted. If you have a solid trust in the pro 4 you take it again, if you have any doubt the Mach 6 would be my choice To be honest, for all middle of the pack runners a modern daily trainer is just fine for a great marathon experience, comfort and good feelings for the feet is much more important than anything else for runners slower than 2:57.......take your shoe choice to run the half as a final try out......getting the pacing right is much more important for you than the weight of the shoes
Wow, I really appreciate this answer!! You also may have just saved me $300 as well. I suppose sticking to what I know would be optimal and you’re spot on with the supershoes not being for us middle packers. Thanks for the insight, I greatly appreciate it.
That could be part of it as well…but there are some shoes over that stack I wouldn’t consider a super shoe (Glideride Max, Glycerin Max). Then ya got some without a plate like the Superblast, so who knows🤷🏻♂️
@@scamer95 that’s what I got my HM PB in but they gave me weird arch pain for 2 days. You ever experience that? I wish they didn’t because I thought they were fast & comfortable on the run!
@@justjared82 I’ve never had any arch pain, the only issue that I’ve had was the lacing/ laces on the shoe. They’ve always caused severe lace bite and pain on the top of my foot but once I swapped the laces out I was able to get a better lock down and no pain whatsoever. I’m planning on using them for the marine corps marathon in 2 weeks so I’ll let you know how I get on with them after the race.

Right on, Good luck in NYC, thats definitely on bucket list for me!

Are you referring to the bevel in the heel?

It’s a great supershoe option if ya like the Mach. Thanks for watching!

I always thought that the "super trainer" category was for shoes that were above the race legal 40mm stack height.
That could be part of it as well…but there are some shoes over that stack I wouldn’t consider a super shoe (Glideride Max, Glycerin Max). Then ya got some without a plate like the Superblast, so who knows🤷🏻♂️
Shout out to the trapper keeper
Heck yes…that pic was before the plastic started peeling off!
I picked Glideride Max instead
Keep me posted on how ya like it!
I have a need.... a need for more SHOETIME!!!
My man! 👟

I’m keeping these! 😀
You should consider the adidas adios pro 3
