I can't believe I've found it at last, Dreadzone Little Britain I never thought I'd find it. Thankyou for posting this gem. I worked on this as the editor. It really stands the test of time.
dude i was the same.i had this beat and melody in my head for years.Couldnt put my finger on it.A mate of mine went to see them i listened to some of there stuff after and now im here.yes!!!
I found this on a minidisc I haven't listened to for years on a radio 1 live evening show. I am just as chuffed to find it here on youtube, it's an awesome tune dude.
Saw these live at knebworth park (one of Oasis' support acts in 1996) I was so drunk i couldnt remember who I saw that day!! Accidentally stumbled on this yesterday and BANG, It all came flooding back lol ... only nearly 20 years late haha
Second Light - one of the best Electronica albums ever, in the era where there were some absolutely brilliant Electronica albums too (Second Toughest In The Infants by Underworld, Dead Elvis by Death In Vegas, Leftism by Leftfield, and Dead Cities by The Future Sound Of London to name four of my other favourites from that time)
This song is wonderful. I recall hearing it from years ago, and kept hearing it in my dreams. It's so innovatively creative. The vocals perfectly enhance the musical accompaniment. It's dreamy and yet dynamic
I once sent an email to a dreadzone website asking a question about Little Britain, this was back in 1997, I got a reply from Leo Williams of all people! the internet was a different beast back then. I felt really proud of that email and kept it for 3 years till hotmail when tits up.. To lad Leo!
@@Rudei1998 I don't know why it says that my post was 1 year ago it was 2 years ago and the festie was cancelled because the promoters went bust.Didn't get my money back either !
I tuned into John Peel show to record a Dreadzone c1995 session....luckily I had a cassette handy..recorded the complete session..think that became Second Light
Magical memories of Glastonbury festival. I was walking down from the campsite toward the Pyramid stage when this started playing on the sound system. Everyone (yes, EVERYONE) in the crowd started bouncing when the beat dropped. It truly was beautiful.
Brilliant......Leeds Brudenell 4th Nov 2016.....what a night ! ! They played this to a deliriously happy crowd, luckily I was there for my first Dreadzone gig.
Nation wide football league extra monday night tv. Football loyalty passion pride a way of life. !!!😎😎😎😎 Oct 2019 a powerful song after all these years ❤❤❤❤
They hammered it in January 1996. I was 18 and working in a warehouse with Radio 1 on all day. In February I went backpacking around Australia and didn’t hear it again until a few months ago when it popped up on my Spotify. I loved it then and love it now!
Did the security at all major gigs from 92 till 2006 dreazone wasn't a group it was a collection of artists that's line changed some due to own bands tours read groups lineup and groups lineups from seen numerous big names appear
"Oh look Andy, it's that music by Dreadzone, called 'Little Britain'" "Yeah I know." "Remember the '90s'? I wish I was still back there." "There were alright..." "Alright? But I thought you said the 1990s were a golden age, a time that will never be equalled, where music and culture were at their very peak.." "Yeah, I know. (pause) I want crisps."
I only knew the black star liner mix cause it was on a compilation of different king size dub tracks when i was 19 now i am fucking 45 and turn 46 in 2 months......arghh what the hell happen to Time? Went by so extreme fast..crazy
In the study I had to take part in the course gymnastics/dance and I wasn't looking forward for it. But we danced to that song and I loved to dance to this music. Beautiful music
I heard this on Absolute 90 radio today (took me right back!) but the version they played had a guy singing on it in what sounded like a carribean accent, any ideas?
These sounds invoke the spirit of Blake’s Albion. There’s more to us than boat-stopping Brexiteers, snivelling at the feet of the House of Saxe Coburg. When the Angel of the North takes flight over Stonehenge and Arthur rises again, we will shed the Norman Yoke and build The New Jerusalem!
This was the sound of life in 1995. Glorious days, we had so much fun when we were in our thirties and this was the soundtrack to it.
indeed
Just heard this on Top Of The Pops 1996 on BBC4. Haven’t heard it in years
Snap.
Me too.
Same! It's been in my head for decades. Probably haven't heard it properly since the mid-90s 😳
Love this song.
Great they are touring the UK and coming Bristol.😊
Oh the 1990s. THE ultimate decade for music. What a classic

i found it on wdr 2 today
Proper takes me back to the heady carefree days of the 90s, absolute banger!!
I've seen countless bands live over the last 40 years but the most fun I have is still at a Dreadzone gig!
ITV Nationwide Football League Extra Highlights Show circa 1997 sent me here...
Happy days simpler times that show popped into my head and this song.
Seen these at a festival years ago when this tune came on it went OFF!!! Brilliant.
Used to be the theme music to Football League Extra in about 1996 / 97
Yeah it was, at about 2 in the morning on Itv, on Tuesdays if my mind serves me right.
yeah but wasn't it a different version to this ? it had the chorus repeated with the voice going "aaahhoooooooo aaaahhhhhooooo !!"
They stole it, The again? We did. Sampling was so cool then
@@davedogge2280 It was just an edited version, it wasn't gonna be the whole song. Loved it anyway, I'm here because of Football League Extra!
@@davedogge2280 It did lol 😁
Oh what a group. It is what this island "nation" does best. When we harmonise.
What a wonderful song. This stirs my soul every time I hear it. Bravo Dreadzone!
I will never understand how this band is so underrated.
This is just timeless, a song for the ages, across time and space and dimension...
Wow! Increible! Uno de mis grandes temas favoritos de Los 90... superrrrrr

We need more class tunes like this in today fucked up materialistic world.
I remember Radio 1 playing this to death, predicting it to be a massive hit. It just made the Top 20.
It's funny u should say that, I was thinking the same thing. They played it alot on local radio too along with dubstar not so manic now.

Yeah it's sung by a Dreadzone member called Earl 16 or Earl Daley. You can get the vocal version on the radio 1 sessions on CD.
