I heard the earnest but misguided love of a codependent who has been rejected for who they are, so they're groveling that they'll become whatever they're told to be to avoid being left alone. @@davidadrian1972 The only thing that "transforms" this song into a not so sad song is the fast tempo and high energetic background track with the drums and all. Remove that and you would have a really sad ballad.
