My honestly biggest issue with this game other than how janky it is, is that it doesn't have a single original idea. They just plagerized a bunch of diffrent games, patchworked it into a frakeninstein monster, changed some things so the makers of the games they stole from can't sue them and called it a day. Uninspired, soulless cashgrab is what I'd call it in short.
So when genshin does the exact same with BoTW its fine but when its a new game aside from your fav there's a problem? Like they are very different in many aspects like open world MMORPG but you all will be so fast to judge something you barely know, and then the "unoriginal" ideas are maybe because there is a set standard for gacha games and a small margin of individuality and creativity, they all aren't going to be exact polar opposites.

The difference is, Genshin took some base mechanics from BOTW, such as climbing and gliding, the latter of which is not Zelda exclusive anyways, and the first 15 minutes of the game is similar, but other than these minor things, the two games couldn't be more different. ToF doesnt have a single original idea it did not steal from genshin or honkai or from other games down to things like cutscenes which was btw a huge scandal and they flat out stole assets from other games which was another. And ToF did not even do THAt well. The game is janky buggy mess. They couldn't even steal shit properly and make it working as intended.

Not denying they steal pretty much everything, but ToF came out before Dislyte (on CN, which has the same wishing animation), didn't it? They couldn't have copied it.
Playing ToF since release to a few days ago, it's a mediocre game in the best sense of the word. It's not bad, it's not good, it's just ok. It has some good combat mechanics and animation, but subpar story and pacing. It does have different and interesting quests, but also boring dull ones. The world is populated with a lot of discoverable stuff, but it's mostly time-locked all the time, and starts to feel tedious after a few days. And the gatcha system is pretty standard as well. It shows a lack of polish that a game like Genshin has. With the risk of sounding smug, it's mid.

ToF is good but it doesn’t feel polished like Genshin and the most problem I'm currently facing is the server problem. I have a decent lv 40+ account but can't play on it because the server is always yellow and laggy. My fps even gets drastically decreased.
A reminder that Tower of Fantasy seems incomplete, and that’s because it kind of is. Tower of Fantasy wasn’t set to be released for a while, but due to some laws in China concerning increased taxation of games released after February 2021, they decided to release it December 2020 in China, and then globally August 2021. Technically, this is more a closed beta than anything.

This game would have been better if it wasn't so hyped and my expectations weren't high it's pretty mid. The story is what fails the most. If I was asked to explain the story in one word it would be "kindly" bullshit. Also I feel like it's trying too hard to be the genshin killer. The art style of the game isn't as appealing as genshins. Only good part is the skip button so I don't have to listen to the story that's the only thing I can say they did better than genshin but that's also wrong because genshins story isnt unbearably boring.

It's only called the "Genshin Killer" because Genshin players have one look at the game without even playing it and then immediately associate it with the one open-world game they play. Sure, a lot of the mechanics are very similar to Genshin's but Genshin isn't even that original.

I was looking for a new game and went back and forth between Genshin and Tower of Fantasy for a week or so. I ended up maining Genshin. ToF is not bad and has so much potential, but it just feels unfinished. It needs a lot more polish to compete with Genshin.

Tof feels unfinished. The movement is janky, the combat is janky, and the dialogues and cutscenes are janky. I had to uninstall it after it crashed for the 4th time (my genshin has never crashed before btw) so it's not optimised either. Overall, an attempt was made. Edit: the UI is also very messy
also I was malding a little bit at the end too lol. I made a workaround by throwing the box onto the platform at an angle so that it was kinda facing the front but diagonally
My GF tried It..She said it's much “inspired” by Genshin and The Legend of Zelda Breath of the wild [Game that i got]..For my opinion i like those 3 games but Zelda Is Better..

The wishing animation is my favorite. The way characters pose with their weapons in kind of portal, it looks sick.
