The elkhorn does make viable seeds from spores at the end of its leaf. Yours even have the brown tips that has spores, you will notice that the brown tips disappear then reappear after several months. If you plant elkhorn and staghorn next to eachother you may be lucky to get a hybrid growing on a nearby tree. They need a climate that doesnt have a dry season for the spores to germinate, so most of India is not possible to make babies. In live in Costa Rica that has rainforest climate and there are even babies from spore that grow on rock and walls.
You are so lucky with all your gorgeous trees and plants. I got myself a staghorn fern early this year. It comes as a potted plant and I love it. I would love to transfer it onto a piece of bark or as you have it onto a coconut. I am looking forward to your next video on how to transfer this fern. Cheers from Switzerland🥳🌷🌻🍂💐👍

Hello mam very informative video. After seeing ur video I purchased stag-horn fern, it came in a pot.. after few days I tried mounting on a coconut.. even after many months it didn’t attach to it and was drying out.. so again I kept in a pot.. can u please suggest how to attach to coconut shell..
Good evening, The staghorn fern is really awesome. Huge nd magnificent. I have a couple of them. Of late the leaves of 2 of them are turning brownish yellow and withering. Should I spray fungicide. Please suggest.
I have a staghorn fern and it is just doing well. When you say coconut shell do you mean the hard inside part or the husk. Also you mention coir basket what do you use in the basket. Thank you.
Hello..... By shell.....I didn't mean the hard part..... You should use the husk with the outer cover......donot take only the coir out and use. That's all......when you remove the coconut what you get is the shell.....husk with the hard outer part..... I hope your doubt is cleared. Ter is something called as coir basket..... You get it in plant shops......it's in a shape of a bowl.....but it's made of coir...... You have to place it inside a hanging pot.....will try to show it for you in my future videos.
8 am a big fan of staghorn fern.my first one died n I bought d second n it's growing ok.i want to know how U fertilize d plant n what fertilizer do U use? Pls help me to enable it to grow big like urs.thanx in advance.
My staghorn fern keeps wilting.i use spray bottle every 3 days.i had one die already.i live in thailand.i hang it in shade.do I water the roots underneath?lady shop said no.what am I doing wrong?
Hummmmm.......check humidity, when u water your plant make sure the plant is totally wet. If humidity is less keep a small tub of water close by and see..... Check for fungus too.
Hi Sangeeta. After watching this video of yours I really fell in love with staghorn fern.It is not available in the nurseries of my locality. So I searched online. The cost is rupees 800 and above. So I am little bit confused because I don't know whether it is worth paying this amount for one plant or not.So please tell me whether to purchase it or not.You may have some idea regarding its cost as you have already purchased it.
It depends on the plant size....but it is an expensive plant..... Compared to other ferns.....you see.....if the plant is looking healthy then you buy.
Ok.Thank you.I too know that it is expensive compared to other ferns. But I want to buy it.But the only problem is when we receive the plant the size of the plant may not be the same as mentioned. And because they are live plants return is also not easy. Some online nurseries which I trust are not having this plant right now.
@@kavithashaji2167 if those nurseries are getting it anytime soon, then I think you should wait for a while....it is better to buy from trust worthy nurseries.
Haven’t seen a better looking stag horn than this. Such masterpiece! So pretty 😍

It can be because of multiple reasons.... like temperature, watering, fungus etc.... Figure it out and then give the cure.

Staghorn fern doesn't require fertiliser..... If you wish you can fertilise it twice in a year by an npk rich fertilizer
