Thanks for the tip. Just putting seat covers in mine and couldn’t see how the head rest comes off. Straight to the point and no dragging out a video. Well done thanks. 👍👍
Oh my gosh watching this saved me haha why is this so difficult?! Thank you! Reading in the owners manual just didn’t translate for me so this was so helpful
Thank you so much for making this video. Although I adore my car, this feature was a terrible addition. The little side button was just fine. You saved me when trying to fit my seat covers.
Is this a US bought vehicle? The radio is strange. Looks like you have an SE model, but the radio looks like it’s out of an S model. Is this a Canadian Tiguan?
I wonder if this works the same for a 2018. I’m about to order some car seat covers and it says you have to remove the headrest. And I’m having trouble finding videos for the 2018 model.

You shouldn't put seat covers on account of the air bags in the seat.
I bought seat covers designed for the Touran seats with airbags.
I sat here for 15 minutes trying to figure out how to get the damn head rest off.
Thank you!
Surprised at how much force it took to remove the headrests, but it worked. Thank you.
Dude you’re a life saver. We couldn’t figure it out without this- thank you!
Thanks dude, worked on my 2023 VW Taos.

Thanks TechManz!

So difficult..design failure..i must stop my car and go at the side back to adjust the headrest..Very big problem and problem design
Why would they make it that way,
We could not remove it after trying for an hour 😢😢
now i get it.
i still can tak it off
hopefully i can afford this car after 15 years.
leasing it was relatively affordable.
I still cant do this.
Try harder- it should work. You just need to add a little elbow grease
I couldn’t do it either at first so I ended up stepping on the area with my leg and pushed hard, it worked
lol he put it back on backwards
On purpose.
I do this because the headrest original position pushes my head too much forwards and becomes extremely uncomfortable.
@@TechManZ o ok got cha
