I was just praying in tears to God for encouragement. Even the good in my life I was somehow spinning it all in my head as negative and destructive. I wasn't sure how God was going to answer this prayer when I finished but then I randomly stumbled upon this three-part sermon from Pastor Gaines. This sermon is how God answered my prayer, within minutes. I now know I need to practice discerning which thoughts are from Satan, and which are from God. How to defend myself from Satan's thoughts, and use offense with God's. Thank you for this message.

2 Corinthians 10:5 is a verse I hadn't really studied before. Reading various translations (not sure what is used in the sermon?), KJV says "casting down imaginations", some say "arguments," in place of "speculations" but almost all say "taking every thought captive." I hadn't considered making my "what ifs" captive to the Truth. Thanks!

It's a great way to combat fear and doubt, Leslie. By the way, we use the NASB translation in most circumstances.
