Karl Kiekhaefer was without a doubt the greatest and most influential marine engineer the world has ever known. There will never be another man like him. I'm pleased to see Fred still has an influence in his father's legacy 👍

I believe Fred is Karls son. I've had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Fred on multiple occasions and he definitely has a first-class personality and will take the time to actually have a conversation with you and not just brush you off saying he's "too busy."
Also to note, Fred retired as Mercury's president but is still involved to a lesser extent.

Everyone is building things intentionally so can't work on it .aviation, cars , motorcycles, you name it. They say it's to improve performance and reliability but if you look at the statistics , none of that has really improved that much.

yeah engineers design perfect things that just dont work in real world boats. Like the old cool fuel on the bottom of the motor so you can get to the torx screws to get it apart. Or you guys sell freaking 500$ spark plug wires for a 8.1 that are nothing different from automotive wires. Just a look from a boat mechanics eyes. You guys might be starting to get in a new direction but man your making slow porgress.

kdknitro I’m pretty sure the engineers deliberately design their stuff to make it hard to work on haha.

What you don't like working upside down while getting sprayed with gasoline??
Burning eyes make you feel better about the pain in the rest of your body 😂!
Someone's going to say safety glasses, they fall into the bilge before you get to the gas, along with some expensive snap-on wrench.
