Thanks, Bubba, for addressing a tough subject with grace. You are raising awareness about this disorder. I deal with depression and I appreciate that you are adding your voice to the discussion. I believe we help others by discussing depression openly. Be well, man.
Depression is a mental illness, yes, a disorder. I mistyped disease. But I suppose when you deal with it daily it certainly can feel like a disease. Thanks for pointing out my mistake. I'll try to edit the post so that no one else reading it can miss the point because they are distracted by the incorrect word.
I got to tell Bubba how much his comments are gonna help folks he the courage to speak up. To see him mention that multiple people are saying this is really meaningful. Kid's making a huge impact. And fans for life
SinikkaL it’s unfortunate about his depression, but there are many better drivers that deserve a shot at a big ride over him. He is extremely overrated.
4:43 "At the end of the day, we're all helpin' each other get through life." That is what humanity should be about. Those that don't join in are on a truly dark side (*and I don't mean dark as in depression)
Huge props and alot of respect for bubba!! Way tobe real and honest I know myself struggle with depression and to hear your story is vary motivating. I'm a huge nascar fan I watch every race weekend so to be sitting waiting for the race to start and watch this im interview was a gift and much needed!! Thank you bubba and wish you the best for the rest of the season.
I don't get you people. He's clearly fine talking about it. Why are you acting mad for him? As someone with depression sometimes talking openly about it helps. Saying stuff like "everyone goes through struggles" and reassuring yourself that you're not alone in this helps.
Sheree Ashley Arend If I didn’t think it was a low blow, I wouldn’t have said so. It is my opinion. Too bad your limited mind can’t handle different opinions.
I struggled with depression, I still have my moments sometimes. The absolute worst part of it is not the depression itself, but how society deals with it. Or doesn't deal with it I should say. Bubba being open about it is very important for us who don't have superstar status, that people will maybe realise I'm not a lunatic, that I can normally function, but that I have my weak points. If people in general had a better understanding of depression, people like me would be much better able to contribute to society. So in the end, increasing understanding is better for everybody.
I was watching this in my living room. When I saw this, I could not believe that Bubba was going thru depression. I am going through depression as well, and hearing this just warms my heart. As a 14 year old, my dream is to become a NASCAR driver! But because of my depression, I lose hope in myself fast. But this has motivated me to keep trying in life, even if you have the worst day ever. Thank you so much Bubba! I wish you the best of luck in your Cup Series career!

Sorry but I don’t think he has the talent. I think cause also he gets depressed takes the energy and the mind focus. Think he should take a year off and focus on him and get the proper help and just maybe he will get better
Sheree Ashley Arend depression has never held me back behind the wheel, same with anxiety. As soon as that green flag drops, everything goes away. Mentality and adrenaline kicks in and that’s it 🤷♂️ amen brother
I agree. Video games don't fix depression. There were thousands of unsuccessful drivers in the sport. Just ask (I think it's David Green). He has the most last place finishes in the sport. He should be thankful he got an opportunity.
Bubba is a very likable guy wish him success.
@m c Exactly. Very talented drivers, but they all have subpar equipment. If it was better, they'd be up near the front almost every race.

Gave me some respect for him. People without depression will never get it
Recon47 how does one truly know they are depressed though ?
m hall you don’t
Think maybe its an excuse for the way you act maybe ? Just easy to say i got depression ? The subject of depression has always fascinated me.
m hall it’s an explanation but not an excuse imo
So you only respect people with depression?

Get this man a capable car and watch him fly. I love that Richard gave him a shot in a cup ride, but it's time for him to get with a quality team.
SinikkaL it’s unfortunate about his depression, but there are many better drivers that deserve a shot at a big ride over him. He is extremely overrated.

Hahahahahah. Put the crack pipe down.
He wasn’t really wanting to talk about it, but in typical nbc fashion, pried into his personal life. Low blow by nbc IMO.

There should be a nascar Mario kart pro league. Dont you think.
There is. Its called the Heat Pro League.

Daryl Wallace is Jesse Smollett 2....so shameful.
Love Bubba. I go through depression and anxiety as well. It means the world seeing someone else be open about it.
I like Bubba’s personality because he reminds me of Tony, he’s gonna speak his mind and just be down-to-Earth, hang in there Bubba
Man I just wish he can just win 1 race this year cause I wanna see his emotions!! That would be amazing!!
THIS guy needs to be in good equipment!!
Trouble Maker....
What’s up nick Jonas AKA bubba Wallace 😂
I wanna see bubba in a competitive car and watch him go
He’d just go straight to the back
