Parking break replacement on 2007 Wrangler because of Broken Cable

When the parking lever cable breaks, you got no emergency break. I could not find just the cable and so I bought the entire lever. It was an easy replacement with very few tools needed. 13mil socket and ratchet and a torx t-27 and you should be good to go. Total time is less then 25 min.

I did have to adjust the parking break on the rear break assembly. An easy task. Thank you keep safe

No Problem - I did have to adjust the line down at the rear breaks as well.

Great Video - Thank you. I having trouble determining the correct replacement part. Chrysler Dodge parts told me that the 52059887Ae won't work on my Jeep (2010 wrangler) without also buying new brake cables. They said the linkage is not compatible. They say that the compatible rake lever unit ends with "AD" but that is not available anymore, although I see it on the Mopar.co website for $55 ??? Any clarification on this is most appreciated.

I'm not too sure what changed, we have a 2010 and thankfully its holding up. I got it off Amazon and took a chance.

A Sailboat/Marine chandlery/rigger would have press sweaged you that 15cm cable. For plm 15,- but maybe a long drive for you.

That would have fixed it. I did keep the old one so perhaps a trip is in order.

@@FloridaJeepRides i had the same problem on my 2007 Wrangler Unltd...but cable ok, sprayed brake cleaner on unit and in wheel hubs....done! :-)

I did it twice so far. Using the valve to break loose the back bolt helps.
