I've got a couple of jeans with stretch which I use when working on the car as they are comfortable when you're reaching and twisting for unfathomably placed engine parts. Surprised how well they do fade. My theory is that the stretching means it sheds indigo easier.
In think stretch is actually a good thing. Makes tighter fits wearable and I’m starting to think they’ll last longer. Cuts down the stress in the high stress points.
Love your videos man, your intro, your shots, and for what it's worth, I dig the rambling. I'm around your age and to be honest maybe I would've liked the carrot fit when I was in uni, but I'm not a fan of it anymore. Seriously though, great content and awesome videos!
Hey bud. Thanks for your kind words. Appreciate it! Yeah. The carrot can work for a certain time but I think that time is behind me. Heading more for the elastic waist these days 😂
The leather patch looks like split leather. Split leather doesn't patina the same way top grain does, it's closer to a polished suede. Cow hide is thick, it's more economical to split the hide and reserve the top grain for shoes, belts, jackets, or maybe the top shelf jeans. My brand new premium Levi's surprised me with an embossed top grain leather patch. I was expecting paper.
Damn. You haven’t got a German washing machine. Heathen. I have 26 pairs of jeans, mostly Levi’s and Japanese Levis Selvedge . Most comfortable and go to: Nudie Stretch and Lee Free 4 -way Motion. But awaiting delivery of unused True Religion from EBay USA. Aliexpress now sells Selvedge Chinese made . I bought a pair of Heavy Raw Red Tornado. They look really great . Tough 12” rise ,7” bottoms with reinforced stitching and great button fly and reviewing. Surprised by the quality. Toughest jeans Ive ever seen and felt. The other Chinese Selvedge is Saucezhan or Saucechan . It’ll be interesting to see how they wear after a few washes. See if they disintegrate.
I think it’s the grant. But not 100% sure. It was an over dyed indigo sample. It didn’t go into production they season might have done in a later season tho.
"a Tyler Durdon moment" :-D I should adapt that to my word pool. Many will wonder about this term hahaha btw I'll keep my eyes open for that 'anti-bac laundry detergent' (quite interesting, tried while soaking yet?)
I’ll tell you this: I bought two pairs of Volcom Stretch selvedge..... 5 years and only thing faded is the over all hue. Fades ? None. Honeycomb no. Bunches? Hell fuckin no

Good point actually. I’m also thinking that they will actually last longer and therefore get better Fades just through longevity.
Yeah i have some black bravestars with 2% lycra for stretch and they are fading nicely.

Haha. Can’t clean that to be mine. The anti bac is great. Should work just fine.
Hmm, part two just released but I remember watching part three already... Am I dreaming? ,;-)
"Life is but a dream" ~Acton Treadway. (Don't steal that.)
And I thought it is just me, being too stupid to find part 2...
Nope. You’re not dreaming. I’m just an idiot when it came to the scheduling.
@@jurgenbrandt642 me too!
@@CeeAreDee Phew, I was wondering if I was having a "senior moment"! ;-)

Did they have a lot of stretch? The Nudies only had about 2% or so.
Why would you want stretch selvedge anyway .. bloody ridiculous.
More practical. Mote durable. More comfortable. Why wouldn’t you?
The saddle of your bike distroy the crotch area of your jeans
