question, i might buy this and i have a spare Crucial P3 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen3 NVMe ssd, could i install that in the mini pc ontop of the 1tb ssd it already comes with?
I'm basically set on picking up a Minisforum MS-01 for a Proxmox box mainly because of the SFP+ ports, but I don't know what SSD config I want to use. Consensus seems to be a mirrored RAIDZ1 with enterprise SSD as ZFS would eat consumer SSDs alive, but I'm not sure.
I have that chip in my laptop, it can't even open youtube without thermal throttling! It would be nice to see some "hadrware info 64" data in here. But the DDR4 at this price point would kill the purchase for me, then knowing what I know about this chip brings us full stop. Cheers 🍻
My laptop has a 12700H, it stopped thermal throttling when I disabled turbo for it. It runs really smooth like that. I'm still messing with the turbo numbers (enabling it at that point ofc) to see if I can max gaming perf without hitting any throttling.
@@Resanctify: Even with an industrial blower fan set to high pushing air through my laptop, the thing still lives on thermal throttle (which for me is 212 f degrees), all day long when doing any real work. I've not tried to disable turbo, I've only tried to get the performance that I paid for. From my experience, it can't be done in these paper thin modern laptops. I have to power limit in BIOS my desktop 13900K even with top of the line water cooling to keep it from throttling, and I still need an industrial blower fan on it for those long render times. These chips run ridiculously hot, they just live on the brakes running slower then the price you paid, forever. The only way I've found to maintain somewhat reasonable temps is with a brick wall power limit and a blower fan. Good luck!
I wish it has an Oculink, i am looking for a mini PC with Oculink port as far as i know only minisforum and Aoostar are have mini PC with an Oculink port, but with less powerful CPU.but with far more powerful IGPU, because this Intel IGPU is krap.
It's surprising how rarely you see the i9's in current gen pc's, as a lot of them seem to be running i7's still which is a shame, as you don't see many benchmarks for this.
If AMD can make a CPU with 1x Zen2 +64x Cortex a53's and call it a "65 core" then sure its a "14 core". Just ignore the IPC difference, ISA difference and other things like SMT missing.
@@teksyndicate Oh wasn't directed at you, you're sound :D Just the industry as a whole. Lots of weak IPC cores that are good at cinebench but are in a cluster with a shared L2 cache, where have we heard that before.
Did he… did he just use a banana as a parcel knife?😳
Yes, yes he indeed did. Here for it!
Saw your comment, searched for that bit (oh its right at the start).
Leaving now because Intel "14 core".
@@Birdii1980 You're talking about the guy who used a graphics card as a coaster for years. He do what he want.
@@Sieg670 still got that old 9800GX2 coaster

Loving my Geekom A5 so far and this looks like a nice one to add to the lineup down the road.

How is this for Music production compared to the mini Mac m4? I use Protools and Cubase, 6 tracks tops. Thanks!
If you stack all the mini PC's you have, do they make a full size PC?
I tried, but god confused the languages of all the workers I hired to help... so we had to stop
Is it good for music like VSTs, DAWs
Your feedback regarding our GEEKOM products is incredibly important to us. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts!

on their website there is a 13th gen model also
hey, by chance can you help me find a corsair k83 please
Excellent review, thanks very much!
If you stack all of the mini PCs you have, are they taller than you?

what does he mean by extremely low power? sounds bad off the rip?
I wonder how it works with an eGPU
wow,GEEKOM'S new mini pc
Did you mean ddr6 ?

Just ignore the IPC difference, ISA difference and other things like SMT missing.
To be fair, I do say that I prefer the AMD parts for most tasks

Which of the 3 would you pick for permanent residence: Norway, Sweden, or Finland?
They don't even have any customer support.
My 5 year old pc is twice stronger(score 4400+) and its retail price is lower than 600 euro...the gap is bigger than i thought with these mini pc's...
What are the specs?
