Everytime this team loses to fan votes, JYP just can't believe it. He wouldn't have eliminated Momo if not for the fan votes. He was forced to eliminate her so he made adjustments to let her + Tzuyu in the lineup.

1. Everyone was afraid of Chaeyoung back in Sixteen and the only one who could bring her to minor was Jihyo, someone with 10 years of training and even she thought she was going to lose 2. JYP really didn't like getting Momo out, he knew she was special and i'm always gonna be grateful that he and the other trainers gave her not only the chance but also her well deserved position in Twice 3. Reminder that Mina was a tarinee for ONLY 1 YEAR 4. JYP ALWAYS loved Dahyun , since the beginning, her charms completely cautivated him, i'm pretty sure he knew she was going to debut as he said, singing and dancing can be practiced but charisma is something that no one can teach

I have mixed feelings about watching sixteen. Like this is so upsetting to watch... look at the potential of the twice members back then. They were fully able to pull off diverse concepts, sing and rap well as trainees. Although I think the early cute concept helped boost them into popularity I can't help but feel bitter that we're missing out on the lower-range songs twice could comfortably thrive in.
yeah, tbh it kind of feels like they've lost a bit of their spark for performance. Some of the girls like Tzuyu have definitely thrived, but Jeongyeon & Chaeyoung have not been utilised in TWICE which is unbelievable considering they were two of the top contestants in sixteen. Chae hasn't had the chance to really rap the entire time she's been part of TWICE and the last time we really got a decent vocal part from Jeong was a very long time ago. I feel like they seemed more confident in sixteen than they ever did in TWICE, which is a shame. I think out of all the members those two would make the most sense leaving JYP to pursue solo careers since they never really got the chance in TWICE. & JYP sucks with promoting soloists lmao
Jyp said that momo is a good dancer but she lack's in singing and in the way you love me performance only Chaeyoung and Jiwon show the right facial expression doing a dark concept coz she smile a lot but her dancing is so powerful as expected

JYP has blood on his hands. 1. Chaeyoung was the star of the show. She wrote her own bars & rapped like nobody’s business. Nowadays not only she can’t showcase her writing skills, they don’t even utilise her as a rapper. 2. Momo can sing. Albeit not as well as the likes of Jihyo, Jeongyeon & Nayeon, she was actually confident enough to sing live. Due to constant out of range lines assigned to her by JYP, now she’s so insecure with her voice. 3. Apart from Tzuyu, none of the members have significantly improved their vocals since debuting. That’s not their fault. It’s on JYPE. They don’t provide adequate training for vocals. Plus the obsessive need to produce high pitch, out of range songs put the dent on their live performance. And now, it’s affecting their confidence to perform.
I actually quite disagree with a lot of stuff, no ofense, but chaeyoung writes a lot of bsides for twice and was one of the first members to do so. I completely agree with what you said about momo, even tho she still sings live despite the high pitch. As an example, in alcohol free she has one of the highest lines but she sings it live everytime the performance isnt pre recorded. 3. In terms of their vocal improvements I can say that we can see a lot of them, like jihyo couldnt support the high notes in truth propperly in sixteen but in more recent performances she pulls them off, the same goes for the Cheer Up highnote.
the only problem with chae is that they always choose the main song and the one that gets an mv based on which song will koreans like more out of the ones in the album, which tend to be either the softest one or the most commercial one of the album. In those songs lately they use Dahyun, not only because her voice goes better with soft songs but because, being honest, in Korea Dahyun is one of the favorite girls, they love her. But Chaeyoung is a bside queen and she has written a lot of those and also the most iconic ones tend to be by her for example strawberry. Momo should be a rapper not a singer, or maybe just not give her lines where she has to sing a lot after all her position is main dancer, her voice doesnt go well whem she has to hold lines. Her best and most memorable lines are the ones where she speaks fast or are rather short examples: her lines in likey, TT, Knock knock, basically the lines they used to give her at the beginning of their career. However, in general twice has improved a lot since their debut and sixteen is just proof that they already had a good base to begin with. Mina's falsetto is dream like, Nayeon has also improved a lot, Chaeyoung is a lot more comfortable singing now and Dahyun dares to sing and has given us a lot of soft covers, Jeongyeon has more range now, Sana has improved a LOT probably the most amongst the group, and as you say so has tzuyu, who's learnt how to put emotions on her voice when she sings.
As much as I love Tzuyu, I don't think she has significantly improved in terms of vocals since then. I think the ones who have improved significantly are Nayeon, Mina, Jeongyeon and Sana. Sana used to sing with a nasty-sounding little girl voice but that has changed since Eyes Wide Open. It still doesnt sound as well as I'd hoped but it's a significant improvement. Mina's singing skills haven't improved since their debut but compared to her singing skills when they were in Sixteen, I think she has improved a lot. She could sing her lines well even if it's live during Like a Fool when most of them messed up embarrassingly in I think one of the rare performances where they all truly sang live. Maybe it's the lines that she's getting after that but she hasn't been that impressive vocally. She lacks power in her voice like most of them do, but I like the tone of her voice and her falsetto. Momo and Chaeyoung I think had better vocals when they were in Sixteen. I wonder how jype actually train their artists to sing. 😅
Chaeyeong as a solo artist would rule the world periodt because she has so much potential including all twice members plus sixteen members that I don't know.

I've never a calm comment section when nayeon solo's talking about nayeon because they are aggressive towards jihyo for being better than her.

I think We all loved Jeongyeon's performance at SIXTEEN. She put all her best into it, and JYP can see it in her eyes that she enjoys performing and didn't look nervous, she was just relaxed. She sang really well and wasn't catching her breath. Jeongyeon hit those Highnotes easily. She also looked strong and competitive here. Her voice really shined. And now she's part of TWICE as one of the vocal lines of the group
and even though jyp so called saw her potential and how special she is he still succeeded to ruin her n tried hard to bury her talents n abilities from being showcased from debut until now.

They get near the same amount of lines, and then Chaeyoung also gets quite a few singing parts on top of that. I bet if you look Chae has more lines on average especially in their newer songs than most of the other girls. (except Jihyo and Nayeon because D U H)

If a person is forced to sing in a certain tone the voice becomes like that that is it gets damaged. And with JYP's style of singing (Half air and half whatever it was called) Momo's voice became really nasally. Actually if you listen to her during The Story Begins (Title track: Like Ooh Ah) Twice Coaster Lane 1 (TT) and Page Two (Cheer Up) albums her voice is pretty deep and stable especially during Touchdown in Page Two..... _sigh_ Momo is such a great singer and her voice during LOA, CU and TT eras was just beautiful.... Jyp ruined another gem just like that
JYP always comments that Momo's voice needs more training, and some parts where they said Minyoung was off-key, when they sound perfectly in pitch, then i realized the performance was pitch-corrected (autotuned). like no hate, all of their performance in sixteen is pitch corrected by MNET so we dont really know. but i will say, her deeper voice sounds a lot better than this bullsht nasally voice they are forcing her
Because kpop songs are generally not made with deep voices in mind. Listen to IOI's pick me, that's the sort of song they like for kpop. Singers with deeper voices tend to debut as rappers or they're forced to sing songs that don't suit their voices. Over time, singing in an unnatural way damages your voice.
mina and chaeyoung constantly stood out for me, specially when they had solo performances. the confidence chaeng always showed really made her look more prepared than the others, specially considering she was like 16. mina was always very perfect with every move and she just always had/has a very stable voice performance. these two are gems.

I think Scientist is their best song since the song is under the vocal ranges of the members. I hope JYPE will continue to give them song like that. It's funny to see people saying chaeyoung is an average rapper when she writes her own lyrics, that's the talent of a "RAPPER" not just an 'IDOL' rapper who just raps. Rapper tends to write lyrics so they can practice it, rhymes and beats, it's hard to execute words in every beat with exact flow there. The reason why they write it, because of their pride as a rapper and they need to practice it too, that's why rapper who writes their own lyrics has a great flow why? First of all when you write rap verse you need to write it as a poem, after that you need to measure it and also chaeyoung's rap has a rhyme which is a little bit hard to write cause sometimes the syllables consume the spaces in lines, second they need to practice it with a beat so you can't say rapper who writes lyrics doesn't have a good flow cause they rap it again and again until they perfect it into the beat, when they off beat they remove the words that seems off and replace it with a new one with exact or same meaning, Third after they practice it with the beat(flow,cadency), they are ready to spit fires, and every rapper has charisma. So if you think chaeyoung is an average rapper make sure you can write poetry with rhymes, not just a free verse, second you need to put your poem in the beat and let your words flow with it, and make sure you write a lyrics connected to the whole song. That just a 1/4 of their works as a rapper there's more than that. If you can't do the 1/4 of rapper's talent you can't judge them without knowledge in rapping.
this is exactly why i can’t take majority of the kpop rappers seriously. rapping literally means rhythmic delivery of poetry and chaeyoung is one of the very few idol rappers who can be considered as an actual rapper
Chaeyoung was a beast in sixteen, so talented. And 2yeon a strong couple, they always together. They were all afraid of Jihyo, Chaeyoung and 2yeon, because they were too powerful haha.

Chaeyoung was the ace of Sixteen, she was unbeatable. I think that's why she has started powerful in dance, but stopped giving her best mid show (even JYP blamed her for it). I think the show was so easy for her that she decided to be less op.
Fun fact: Sixteen had the highest success rate of all kpop survival shows, which means that almost all of the contestants have debuted as a soloist or in a group

I only watched Sixteen 3 years after its broadcast because I got interested in Nayeon. After watching sixteen, Jeongyeon became my ultimate bias in kpop. I just really loved her presence, performance, vocals, vibe and everything about her. Sixteen made me a Jeongyeon stan and Jihyo became my bias wrecker.
The audience, JYP, and the girls themselves knew Chaeyoung was gonna make the group. I think that was what made Momo's elimination so hard, JYP saw great potential in Jiwon and wanted to see more from her. I'm sure he was upset having to eliminate Jiwon the next round considering Momo was let go first

And the finalised team was NaJeongSaJiMiDaChae but jyp's decision changed and he announced that 2 more members will be added in TWICE and it will be 9 member group instead of 7. Jyp brought back 2 contestants Tzuyu (who was brought back because of her insane popularity) and Momo who was eliminated previously (because of her insane dancing skills and her dedication to music). Minyoung was one of the contestants who didn't make it to final cut but she was there when the team was being picked. Dunno. I couldn't watch the whole sixteen. It was too painful to watch

I miss Minyoung, I really do. She has trained since 2010, was only 12. She was supposed to debut in 6MIX with Nayeon, Jungyeon, Jihyo, Lena and Cecilia. Cecilia got kicked due to her contacting with other companies while waiting to debut. Sana came. Then Lena left. And JYP has had enough of this mess and decided to have SIXTEEN. MNET really did Minyoung dirty with their editing, she looked like a depressed and sad girl all the time, whereas her strong vocal always carried her teams, and she was in Major group most of the time. Whenever Minyoung had a voice crack, she was dissed crazily. Think about this, SIXTEEN has 16 contestants. If you got rid of the girls born in 2000 or later (coz they surely could not debut in Twice due to age restriction), like Somi, Chaeyeon, Chaeryeong, Natty and Eunsuh (they were there to raise popularity for the next girlgroup), there are only 11 left. Twice debuted with 9, so basically they kicked only 2 girls out, and who are they? Minyoung and Jiwon - 2 of the most powerful vocalists in there. Choosing 9 out of 11 girls and Minyoung still got kicked. No wonder why the original members of 6MIX (Nayeon, Jungyeon and Jihyo) looked extremely sad for Minyoung in the last episode after announcing Twice. They could not be just a tiny bit happy because their lil sis got kicked out. These 4 girls were supposed to debut together in 2013 already. Seriously, fuck SIXTEEN, Mnet and JYP. Everytime this team loses to fan votes, JYP just can't believe it. He wouldn't have eliminated Momo if not for the fan votes. He was forced to eliminate her so he made adjustments to let her + Tzuyu in the lineup.

I have mixed feelings about watching sixteen. Like this is so upsetting to watch... look at the potential of the twice members back then. They were fully able to pull off diverse concepts, sing and rap well as trainees. Although I think the early cute concept helped boost them into popularity I can't help but feel bitter that we're missing out on the lower-range songs twice could comfortably thrive in.
yeah, tbh it kind of feels like they've lost a bit of their spark for performance. Some of the girls like Tzuyu have definitely thrived, but Jeongyeon & Chaeyoung have not been utilised in TWICE which is unbelievable considering they were two of the top contestants in sixteen. Chae hasn't had the chance to really rap the entire time she's been part of TWICE and the last time we really got a decent vocal part from Jeong was a very long time ago. I feel like they seemed more confident in sixteen than they ever did in TWICE, which is a shame. I think out of all the members those two would make the most sense leaving JYP to pursue solo careers since they never really got the chance in TWICE. & JYP sucks with promoting soloists lmao

1. Chaeyoung was the star of the show. She wrote her own bars & rapped like nobody’s business. Nowadays not only she can’t showcase her writing skills, they don’t even utilise her as a rapper.
2. Momo can sing. Albeit not as well as the likes of Jihyo, Jeongyeon & Nayeon, she was actually confident enough to sing live. Due to constant out of range lines assigned to her by JYP, now she’s so insecure with her voice.
3. Apart from Tzuyu, none of the members have significantly improved their vocals since debuting. That’s not their fault. It’s on JYPE. They don’t provide adequate training for vocals. Plus the obsessive need to produce high pitch, out of range songs put the dent on their live performance. And now, it’s affecting their confidence to perform.
I actually quite disagree with a lot of stuff, no ofense, but chaeyoung writes a lot of bsides for twice and was one of the first members to do so.
I completely agree with what you said about momo, even tho she still sings live despite the high pitch. As an example, in alcohol free she has one of the highest lines but she sings it live everytime the performance isnt pre recorded.
3. In terms of their vocal improvements I can say that we can see a lot of them, like jihyo couldnt support the high notes in truth propperly in sixteen but in more recent performances she pulls them off, the same goes for the Cheer Up highnote.
the only problem with chae is that they always choose the main song and the one that gets an mv based on which song will koreans like more out of the ones in the album, which tend to be either the softest one or the most commercial one of the album.
In those songs lately they use Dahyun, not only because her voice goes better with soft songs but because, being honest, in Korea Dahyun is one of the favorite girls, they love her.
But Chaeyoung is a bside queen and she has written a lot of those and also the most iconic ones tend to be by her for example strawberry.
Momo should be a rapper not a singer, or maybe just not give her lines where she has to sing a lot after all her position is main dancer, her voice doesnt go well whem she has to hold lines. Her best and most memorable lines are the ones where she speaks fast or are rather short examples: her lines in likey, TT, Knock knock, basically the lines they used to give her at the beginning of their career.
However, in general twice has improved a lot since their debut and sixteen is just proof that they already had a good base to begin with. Mina's falsetto is dream like, Nayeon has also improved a lot, Chaeyoung is a lot more comfortable singing now and Dahyun dares to sing and has given us a lot of soft covers, Jeongyeon has more range now, Sana has improved a LOT probably the most amongst the group, and as you say so has tzuyu, who's learnt how to put emotions on her voice when she sings.
As much as I love Tzuyu, I don't think she has significantly improved in terms of vocals since then. I think the ones who have improved significantly are Nayeon, Mina, Jeongyeon and Sana. Sana used to sing with a nasty-sounding little girl voice but that has changed since Eyes Wide Open. It still doesnt sound as well as I'd hoped but it's a significant improvement. Mina's singing skills haven't improved since their debut but compared to her singing skills when they were in Sixteen, I think she has improved a lot. She could sing her lines well even if it's live during Like a Fool when most of them messed up embarrassingly in I think one of the rare performances where they all truly sang live. Maybe it's the lines that she's getting after that but she hasn't been that impressive vocally. She lacks power in her voice like most of them do, but I like the tone of her voice and her falsetto. Momo and Chaeyoung I think had better vocals when they were in Sixteen. I wonder how jype actually train their artists to sing. 😅

I think We all loved Jeongyeon's performance at SIXTEEN. She put all her best into it, and JYP can see it in her eyes that she enjoys performing and didn't look nervous, she was just relaxed. She sang really well and wasn't catching her breath. Jeongyeon hit those Highnotes easily. She also looked strong and competitive here. Her voice really shined. And now she's part of TWICE as one of the vocal lines of the group
and even though jyp so called saw her potential and how special she is he still succeeded to ruin her n tried hard to bury her talents n abilities from being showcased from debut until now.

If a person is forced to sing in a certain tone the voice becomes like that that is it gets damaged. And with JYP's style of singing (Half air and half whatever it was called) Momo's voice became really nasally. Actually if you listen to her during The Story Begins (Title track: Like Ooh Ah) Twice Coaster Lane 1 (TT) and Page Two (Cheer Up) albums her voice is pretty deep and stable especially during Touchdown in Page Two..... _sigh_ Momo is such a great singer and her voice during LOA, CU and TT eras was just beautiful.... Jyp ruined another gem just like that
In twice’s songs she has to sing with a nasal voice technique which is absolutely uncomfortable and not natural for her
JYP always comments that Momo's voice needs more training, and some parts where they said Minyoung was off-key, when they sound perfectly in pitch, then i realized the performance was pitch-corrected (autotuned). like no hate, all of their performance in sixteen is pitch corrected by MNET so we dont really know. but i will say, her deeper voice sounds a lot better than this bullsht nasally voice they are forcing her

Because kpop songs are generally not made with deep voices in mind. Listen to IOI's pick me, that's the sort of song they like for kpop. Singers with deeper voices tend to debut as rappers or they're forced to sing songs that don't suit their voices.
Over time, singing in an unnatural way damages your voice.
mina and chaeyoung constantly stood out for me, specially when they had solo performances. the confidence chaeng always showed really made her look more prepared than the others, specially considering she was like 16. mina was always very perfect with every move and she just always had/has a very stable voice performance. these two are gems.

It's funny to see people saying chaeyoung is an average rapper when she writes her own lyrics, that's the talent of a "RAPPER" not just an 'IDOL' rapper who just raps. Rapper tends to write lyrics so they can practice it, rhymes and beats, it's hard to execute words in every beat with exact flow there. The reason why they write it, because of their pride as a rapper and they need to practice it too, that's why rapper who writes their own lyrics has a great flow why? First of all when you write rap verse you need to write it as a poem, after that you need to measure it and also chaeyoung's rap has a rhyme which is a little bit hard to write cause sometimes the syllables consume the spaces in lines, second they need to practice it with a beat so you can't say rapper who writes lyrics doesn't have a good flow cause they rap it again and again until they perfect it into the beat, when they off beat they remove the words that seems off and replace it with a new one with exact or same meaning, Third after they practice it with the beat(flow,cadency), they are ready to spit fires, and every rapper has charisma. So if you think chaeyoung is an average rapper make sure you can write poetry with rhymes, not just a free verse, second you need to put your poem in the beat and let your words flow with it, and make sure you write a lyrics connected to the whole song. That just a 1/4 of their works as a rapper there's more than that. If you can't do the 1/4 of rapper's talent you can't judge them without knowledge in rapping.

I only watched Sixteen 3 years after its broadcast because I got interested in Nayeon. After watching sixteen, Jeongyeon became my ultimate bias in kpop. I just really loved her presence, performance, vocals, vibe and everything about her. Sixteen made me a Jeongyeon stan and Jihyo became my bias wrecker.

The audience, JYP, and the girls themselves knew Chaeyoung was gonna make the group. I think that was what made Momo's elimination so hard, JYP saw great potential in Jiwon and wanted to see more from her. I'm sure he was upset having to eliminate Jiwon the next round considering Momo was let go first

Because jyp left the audience to decide who will win, and Chaeyoung, Jiwon and Momo were against Jihyo, Somi and Natty, Somi was REALLY popular during sixteen, Jyp actually said Momo's team is better but the fans voted for jihyo's team anyways because of somi, same thing happened with Nayeon's and Sana's teams, jyp said Nayeon's team is better but the audience voted for sana's team because of dahyun and her popularity, so yeah, the audience is pretty biased, they only want their favorite to win no matter who did better.

@@deki5616 well there were 3 (?) Contestants left after finalised members. And the finalised team was NaJeongSaJiMiDaChae but jyp's decision changed and he announced that 2 more members will be added in TWICE and it will be 9 member group instead of 7. Jyp brought back 2 contestants Tzuyu (who was brought back because of her insane popularity) and Momo who was eliminated previously (because of her insane dancing skills and her dedication to music). Minyoung was one of the contestants who didn't make it to final cut but she was there when the team was being picked. Dunno. I couldn't watch the whole sixteen. It was too painful to watch

I miss Minyoung, I really do. She has trained since 2010, was only 12. She was supposed to debut in 6MIX with Nayeon, Jungyeon, Jihyo, Lena and Cecilia. Cecilia got kicked due to her contacting with other companies while waiting to debut. Sana came. Then Lena left. And JYP has had enough of this mess and decided to have SIXTEEN. MNET really did Minyoung dirty with their editing, she looked like a depressed and sad girl all the time, whereas her strong vocal always carried her teams, and she was in Major group most of the time. Whenever Minyoung had a voice crack, she was dissed crazily.
Think about this, SIXTEEN has 16 contestants. If you got rid of the girls born in 2000 or later (coz they surely could not debut in Twice due to age restriction), like Somi, Chaeyeon, Chaeryeong, Natty and Eunsuh (they were there to raise popularity for the next girlgroup), there are only 11 left. Twice debuted with 9, so basically they kicked only 2 girls out, and who are they? Minyoung and Jiwon - 2 of the most powerful vocalists in there. Choosing 9 out of 11 girls and Minyoung still got kicked. No wonder why the original members of 6MIX (Nayeon, Jungyeon and Jihyo) looked extremely sad for Minyoung in the last episode after announcing Twice. They could not be just a tiny bit happy because their lil sis got kicked out. These 4 girls were supposed to debut together in 2013 already. Seriously, fuck SIXTEEN, Mnet and JYP. And now we don’t even know where Minyoung is.
