This was so fucking huge for me. I was a sophomore in highschool when this came out. A much better time when we could enjoy this sort of stuff. "The Internet" was not nearly as 'good' back then but I'd take what it used to be compared to what it is now.
Hi Daniel, this movie was a big part of my golden age in gaming. So long ago now, but so many good memories (and militia1). Big thanks for the nostalgia blast today! I am sorry to hear about your friend Jason. He will also be immortalized on video til the end of time! Best regards.
Indeed Justin -- this film is now about 20 years old and there are still a trickle of people seeing it for the first time. It's a great thing for me to see.
Oh man, never thanked you for your terrific work Mr. Frome. When I remember back to the golden days of PC online gaming and E-Sports, the Militia movies are always coming to my mind too. My thanks go to you and all the people who were working with you on your projects. Same goes for Clan Vs. Noobs. I still get the urge to yell "Camper Joe" everytime I see a camper die in Battlefield3.
Watched this video like 4 years ago... time to watch back for some fun and realize Jay was gone in 2013..... still touchy even I watched this video about over 7 times, don't worry dude, Jay will always in this video and RIP....
This brings me waaaaaaaaaaay back. Thanks for the upload. I watched this when I was 13. I'm 29 now and funny enough, remembered it not too long ago when reminiscing with my brother. Glad to see it on RUclips! You did a great job on this, really was memorable for me.
I'm a little late replying, but thanks for the kind words. These movies were insanely slow to create, I don't know if I would have had the patience nowadays to do it, but I'm glad that I did.
Daniel Frome, nowadays action films can’t be compared with these golden age ones. This film blown me away when I first saw it many years ago. it’s not just about some crazy fights or fancy moves, it’s all about how we feel these men’s heart and the pressure scene you guys created. A real inspiration for me!
i always wanted to something exactly like this, on the same exact map, around the same time - you did it leaps and bounds better than i ever could. cheers mate!
This is simply amazing, the CS 1.6 community is still alive but sadly they don't make stuff like this anymore. I love oldschool games even if I was born in 2000 :)
Great movie Daniel, I like that you showcased how serious machinima can be. It's a shame most machinima nowadays is just slapstick comedy. I'm working on a music-machinima too on my other channel and I know what you mean by time constraints, nowadays, if you have to do 3d animation/manipulation of the models, it's even more time consuming, but anyway, I don't mind doing it very slowly on low priority (I have other stuff to do) in my free time. :) I'm glad you got pretty famous from that other video.
cannot believe you finally uploaded it! i was looking all over the net for it the last 10 years! the soundtrack is amazing! you inspired me when i was young to produce my own machinima movies.
watching this is so emotional too, just loved how perfect the video is and how good the actors are, good job guys, i wish there was more videos like this with different maps and different stories, this brings good memories #2019
My dad got us a DVD recorder that could hook up to the computer and I recorded this movie way back when. I still have it some where, but the ease that I can now just randomly remember this and look it up really tells you how far the internet has come. I am so surprised by the less than 100Ks of view and even more that this channel seems to have died. But thank you for making this.
Pardon the old reply! Yes, if you include Fileplanet and other download sources from 2002-2011, plus many different user-uploaded versions, Militia 2 likely beats my other major film (ClanWars) regarding views. That being said, I'm happy that both films continue to gather some new viewers. It's a small figure nowadays, like a gift that keeps giving.
@@topfragdad yea DSL was still quite rare in those days did not become commonly available in my area till about 5 years later. ISDN was a option but was very pricey.
this brings back great memories of 1.5, the countless hours spent playing that game and fun i had on that game. i still remember downloading this off of fileplanet 4-5 years ago. thanks for making this!
Hi Daniel Frome, thank you for the fast answer and the songs of your Militia Video. The song and the video accompanied me for almost over 10 Years now, an no movie in cinemas can let me feel what happened with the heroism happened at 15,59 “ I am not gonna let him die” combined with your music, and of course the rest of your movie is Legendary!!! Thank you so much that the search is over now , and a piece of my CS Time and youth finally get back to me. Best wishes Christian from Germany!!!
This reminded me of the real soldiers who are at the border ..its shows that soldiers help each other in any time...great movie +Daniel Frome ..you made me cry...keep it up
Holy memories. I was a captain in dB4d when Russ (Face) told me that he and 3 clanmates were helping you on a sequel to Militia. Goddamn I was jealous, lol. Glad that you put it up, it was incredible what you were able to do with what you had, and sorry to hear about your friend.
well set aside some logical problems in gun fight and the tactic for cops to assault...it is really the best video with action, audio and animations integrated I have ever seen, really hope that you and your friends could keep up good effort...there is potential for you guys to be epic
Thanks for the compliment! Unfortunately this film is 10 years old now. We only made 1 other movie after this: ClanWars (which is also linked under my account).
Just wanna see whoever worked on the music is super talented. I remembered the melody of this song and hummed it in my head for 10+ years and wondered (where did i hear that again?) Glad I found this CS movie again.
so i was watching it in 2012 when jason was alive? ;( i feel like i had never seen very good movie since then and just 2018 knew that he's gone......Rest In Piece Jason...
Goddamn this was so awesome when I first saw it back when it was released. I still hum that violin part in the very beginning sometimes. I had all the music tracks downloaded onto my school account but I forgot to take them with me when I left. Ah well.
yo Daniel. Not sure if you are even alive(jk) but just wanted to let u know that I absolutely loved this in my old days of counter-strike gaming. Felt like watching a real movie, at that time at least. This coulda easily hit the hundreds of thousands if released in the modern-gaming world of today IMO - Just wanted to say thanks for some good quality entertainment :)
Hey Carl, I'm indeed alive and well. Yeah -- this movie was before the time of youtube... it still did pretty well all things considered... and it's cool that people still comment on it today! Thanks again.
Daniel Frome Daniel, it's very god work, for old time it's awesome. I hope you will do something with another Counter-Strike or Valve game. Thanks for this movie) Like

No skins, cases, badges. Just pure gaming experience.
you could get skins but they were all client side, cs-nation was a great source if I remember correctly
@@blitzthose ye i was using the 1.5 knife skin. Cs banana is the GOAT website. I meant that only you could see them. It wasn’t a thing really.
They are using a couple of custom weapon skins, namely the AK and AWP are custom.
In a weird way this makes me want to cherish life that much more .. reminds me of life when it was simple...
i can't believe this movie is still around!!! watched it back in 2002. thank you for making such a great movie
