Short story here Sierra, I was at work because my birthday leave was disapproved due to someone else filed a "normal" vacation leave (miss universe leave I'd say). So I was working at 10am by the time it came down to the last 2 girls. I stood up from my desk and went to the lounge where a few folks on break were watching. Then Pia was called first runner up, then I turned my back on them thinking "ugh, latina goddess wins again. When will we ever win? It's been almost 50 years." then I sat down frowning, continuing work. THEN, I heard people screaming "OMG! Binawi! Binawi! (OMG he took it back (Steve), he took it back!" Then I rushed back, still nervous because it's either Pia won, or Olivia won (had he read the results in reverse). Then when Steve said, "Miss Universe Two Thousand Fifteen... Is.. PHILIPPINES" the entire office lost it! The ENTIRE office lost it! Everyone who was on a call went mute and it was the loudest Miss Universe cheering crowd I have ever been to.
Pia’s still relevant because she just gives off a very warm vibe 🥺😭🤍 yung there’s respect and you still get so starstruck with her pero she’s not really intimidating parang gusto mo siyang maging close friend 🥺 Ang kalog niya din kasi && she grew up in the PH so alam niyang makiSabay sa PH humor. I'm a proud PIANATICS since 2014! She is indeed confidently beautiful with a HEART! I remember when I was in the hospital in 2019 when i was diagnosed with HIV and gone public. Someone reach out to me, which happens to be one of Pia's personal make up artists. They sent some help that I never asked for and it took care some of the portion of my hospital bills. This is why i will always be grateful and proud part of PIANATICS. 🙏🏻❤️🙂

This is why I have always preferred Pia over Cat (not hating Cat since I am also a Filipino). Pia's first language is not English but instead of being pretentious about it like when she was groping for words, she admitted that she was unsure of word choice by asking Siera if her terminology was right. And yet, despite this slight issue, she still came across as eloquent. it is easier to be eloquent if you are using your first language (and English is sometimes the first language of our beauty queens like Cat, for example).
the fact that she still remained humble through the years, is still the reason why she is still sought after miss universe even up to this day, she has just this genuine personality that isnt forceful, the kind of IN YOUR FACE kind of persona, shes like one of us, a friend that you can tell stories with and can relate too... a TRUE QUEEN!... she will be always remembered....
Catriona and Pia are always compared,like who's the better Miss Universe Philippines. But let's all remember that Pia was the one who bought back the crown after 40y drought; bagged the Bb.Pilipinas title on her 3rd try..and the controversial announcement the night of the pageant. I want to share that when that time when *Pia* won *Miss Universe* I was on a Youth Camp on the Mountains and I remember that our Camp Master stop the program and told us to be quiet because Philippines was on top 2 and when he came out he told us that Philippines was 1st place and few seconds later he leave and then return that Philippines Won Miss Universe, after that moment he told us to do the chant that we always do when something is Victorious all I remember after that was a loud cheer from hundred's of youth.
