    Chatreey's N100's is the kingmaker pick. Replaceable/upgradeable storage and ram, single cable operation with a usb display, or how I use it into a usb dock that it takes turns with with my steam deck. That way it's almost a kvm because the ports on the dock are connected to whichever I plug in.

    Ahoy, great video again. Last Amazon bargain days I bought an IProda N97 PC with 16G/512G for $129. IProda is well known in Asia but not so much in the west. I was holding out for an N97 or faster. I watched an N300 PC. It is cheap at $183 but it was only 8G soldered on. So I'm well sarisfied with this N97 system, very quiet and stays cool and ia snappier than my N5105s. The last I looked it was back at its $233 price but look for it on sale days at Amazon. Cheers, daveyb

    picked up a chatreey for father in law and a minix for my backup server. Looks like I'll have to give the minix to the FIL and return the chatreey as the fan surges annoyingly at idle and I haven't found a bios/advanced thermal setting (cntl-f1) that takes care of it. The shipped bios is later than any on the chatreey web site but an earlier bios seemed to address this specific issue. I'd guess this is a problem with my specific unit. CPU temp is around/under 40c, so I assume the fan is being spun up/down for some other reason.

    I run a photo booth/photography business. 25 years in IT and most people are going to iPad setups with DSLR but I really wanted to stay with PC. Currently am running a Surface Pro 3 i7 setup. I want to replace it with a mini PC but need to keep size smaller. I am not up to date with the processors on these minis. What do you think these compare to regarding surface pro power? Thanks!

    You can find similar to the 1st in this video with better specs and cheaper on Aliexpress during big sales especially their anniversary and holidays - it will have the N100, 16gb ddr5 (5 not 4), 512gb storage. This configuration was ~100$usd during last anniversary sale. There is a slightly stronger one with the N97 chip which has higher clock and also offer stronger gpu performances, might cost ~120$usd on sale.

    Interesting to learn the N97 outperforms all N100's. Can you hazard a guess as to the fps for FarCry 5 on Peladn W04 in dual ram mode? It's the game I refuse to stop playing every day for past two plus years. I might hit 3000 hours one day. I would think it would be similar to the GTA5 you test on.

    • @Power3DDesign
      @Power3DDesign 2 месяца назад +1

      The N97 is better than a N100 but it's not going to perform better than a GTX 970. Both machines still use intel UHD graphics and single channel RAM. You're likely looking at very small improvements to no improvement depending on the game's settings. Far cry 5 system requirements recommend a GTX 970 or R9 290X which is around the performance of an 890M iGPU like in a SER9 or about half that of mini pc like the Minisforum HX99G's 6600M GPU or a 790S7 RTX 4060 GPU. By turning down the settings, lower spec computers can be used but it is important to keep in mind the N100 and N97 are meant for essential computing. Not gaming. You will need to rely on cloud gaming services with a N97 to get the best gaming performance from the machine.

    • @Robtech
      @Robtech  2 месяца назад +2

      The "minimum" requirements specify an AMD Radeon R9 270 (2 GB) or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 (2 GB). The R9 270 has a 3Dmark DX11 graphics score of around 6000, while the WO4 in dual channel mode is around 4000. In other words, it's still far off the minimum requirements and would likely run poorly.

      As a rule, Intel on board graphics are as good as amd stuff nearly half the price, so Far Cry 5 wouldn't fly. The N100/N97 can however, decode a stream of AV1, you could home network stream to it very well and with a really clear image.

    This is why I don't buy the best Chinese models. I limit my spend to $500. It seems like Chinese manufacturers find a viable unit to produce, set up the production line and make a certain number of them and then are gone. They make minimal effort to maintain support for their invention which makes them all disposable devices. No repair system, no support number to call, and in a year, no sign of them ever being in business.

      @Somatom_Man
      1. Computer racism is silly.
      2. Tech changes so fast that small batch production is often the only viable manufacturing method. If AMD and intel decides to change the processor or even just the name every year with refreshes, then smaller brands are going to use the newer model. It's a pain even just finding car manufacturers making a brand new 2022 or 2023 model in 2024. Idk why we expect different with computers.
      3. $500 is a very good budget for most people. It's a one sided argument to assume the buyer is always right. There are a lot of situations where a buyer can have unrealistic expectations, communication skills of sandpaper, or simply buy from brands without a website and complain later why there is no website. There are good and bad brands out there but they do not represent everyone. It is one of those weird quirks of a market that tries to make products a wide range of buyers and there will be a wide range of results.
      There really isn't a solution other than helping people understand that they cannot take the shotgun approach to buying products in a diverse product market. If people can even just understand basic things like don't buy from sites with 0-7 day return policies and to buy a machine that has the performance needed for their task, everyone could avoid an enormous amount of drama.
