- It's a CLASSIC California Clasico between the San Jose Earthquakes and LA Galaxy, with seven goals exchanged between the two teams, including a Landon Donovan goal against his old team, a beautiful free kick from David Beckham and a wonderful flick from MLS golden boot leader Chris Wondolowski.

Every time this is the best game of the season. Such a great rivalry
what a nice game to watch. i am very happy with the progress the MLS has made in the last years. As a European i am starting to watch the MLS more and more.
Be specific. Which country are you from?
@@anthonylong9067 who cares?
I seen this on ESPN for the first time today and i actually enjoyed watching MLS. I think i'm going to become a fan of MLS now.
Collided with his owndefender Victor Bernardez #26, He stayed in until halftime. They subbed him out during halftime but the stadium announcer at stanford didn't say anything. but saw a different goalie on the big screeen so I knew what happened.
David Bingham went beast mode in the second half
What a knockout match, meaning both sides through hooks, jabs, dekes, punches to chops; Senor Wondo never ceases to amaze me, he is a world class striker who definitely deserves to play for the USMNT. I hope that he gets a chance to right his wrongs, come 2018 and possibly 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Lol nah he's too old to play for the USMNT... Maybe gold cup!
Correction:
Cali Classico (LAG vs. SJE)
Eastern Canada (MTR vs. TOR)
Cascadia (SEA vs. POR vs. VAN)
I remember this game so well. Watching highlights a year later just for good memories! Cant help but smile. All of the comments that say "oh the ref should have called all the fouls on the Quakes!" Just stop, the game is over with.
One of the best matches in the history of MLS.
The best game i've seen in the MLS so far it left me on my toes so many times it was truly an amazing game. Earthquakes all the way.
That is a great win by San Jose. I applaud you. *clap clap*
Oh come on. Really? The Earthquakes play in a stadium with a capacity of like 10,000. plaing in a stadium with over 50,000 people is a treat for them. Let him have his fun. They only have that big of an audience once a year at home. They were all hyped up. And it's a simple celebration, nothing over the top.
I'm peruvian and I watched this match last week I thought USA soccer was very bad but this match was unbeliable Now I'm fan of San Jose Earthquackes ;)
Bingham looks like he will be a top 5 goalie in the future. And he has such a strong kick too.
I like going to the MLS videos page then opening all the highlights videos in new tabs at the same time so all you can hear is different announcers yelling over each other
sweet game, seems like the US game gets better and better. nice one. :)
Jeez they came back from 3-1 that's like sir Alex ferguson shit
I'm from Scotland, I think you'll agree that you can't get more soulful than Celtic Park on a European night. The MLS has made significant progress. It's in need of a promotion and relegation to a lower tier to bring fear and intensity. When that happens + when these teams have some more decades of history the atmosphere will intensify. Many Americans commenting on your ice hockey league though? bet not! You seem like a typical smug knows-best German! Sorry USA (on behalf of the rest of Europe!)
I was there.. what a fantastic match!!
amazing free kick
This was the last time the quakes made me feel proud to be a fan. I don't know when everything went to sh*t but it's hard to feel the same way I did back in 2012. Wishing I get to feel like I did that night at Stanford sometime soon.
the best rivalry in the MLS!!
the fight after the game was good too
this was a very exciting dont move of your seat, awesome game.
I was at that game, fantastic!
Insane game.
i was that ball kid behind the goal when beckham scored and the other 5 goals on that side
Spectacular game WOW
great game and great fireworks! lmao at la we had to gift you 2 goals to keep the game competitive.
David Beckham was Spectacular in this game! Brought entertainment to the match !
I remember coming to this game:D but it sad that my team lost
i love this game!!wow!!!!
Great game! I'm still kicking myself for not getting tickets. I wish more MLS games were like this. All the excitement and drama you could ask for! An own goal, a Davy Becks trademark free kick, and a great winning backheel goal from none other than Wondo. Great crowd too, I was busting up when they were chanting "We don't give a fuck about LA!" I also enjoyed watching Beckham's little fit in the end. Sad he didn't make the GB team, but what are you gonna do?
Go Quakes!
Yeah i am proud of my Quakes best team in the mls this season go san jose
what a match
EPIC GAME!
i cant believe Beckham didnt make the list for the Olympics.......he deserves to be on the team
I'll try to watch it online,, if anyone knows where I can find the match to download from SJ vs LA ... thank you
50,000 fans for the game! Awesome.
great match
Great game!
Woo great game!!
I wish these highlights showed the Beckham incident. Don't want to push for violence, but I think tense moments where players get up in each other's faces is important to show it is a true rivalry game.
Last goal was the best!! Honduran!!
wait wth we had bingham that long ago lmao 🤣
very TY have a nice day!
Beckham was very good. Quakes were very very good. GREAT game!
Did anyone see how busch got hurt? I noticed he got subbed out at halftime and they later showed him on the big screen with his left eye all bandaged up.
You should, but just FYI this was a somewhat exceptional match since it was a rivalry match. Definitely check out all the rivalry matches like LA v SJ, New York v DC, Seattle v Portland, the Canadians ones, and I'm missing some. Like any sport some games are great/good/ok
Damnnn, close game
Young David Bingham shut down old David Beckham. It was just so nice.
Wondo is beast
San Jose:
Thank you for making Beckham have a tantrum at the end. A great way to cap off a great game.
The fans care more about the cascadia rivalry then the fans, the players care about el classico. If yuo watched this game it was amazing.
Haha I like the complete absence of the two tussles.
what date was this game, anyone?
i was there, plus i got the beckham freekick in my camera
ikr.
Yeah and I don't even think Honduras clalled him for their world cup qualifiers. Maybe they did but he might have said no to not leave san jose. Khari Stephenson for Jamaica did that a while ago too.
where are the United vs Montreal highlights?
Dammmmn. Maybe Wondo is the real deal. Cant stop him from scoring
Like euro players never make mistakes huh??
Anyway ive said it before and I'll say it again Europe is accross the pond, America is over here, Mexico and south america are a lot closer. We, as a football/soccer nation, should stop comparing/trying to play to the standards of clubs and countries we very rarely play against competitively and focus on those we do.
Wondo is beast btw
I also think DC United vs New York is a rivalry too, but not sure. But now that DC United is #1 in East and New York is close, it will be a bigger rivalry
Justin Morrow on the post: SICKNASTY
It was just coming off of him not being included on Team GB, and he was fed up with the time stalling. Notice how the "injured" player jumps right up after he gets hit.
Great game. Go Dynamo.
Question: Why isn't Steven Leinhart on the USMNT?
match of the season so far?
wow. what a game. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good one too. Go Galaxy
Pretty good game. I'm glad for Bernardez and Chavez from Honduras, who are doing a great job at the Earthquake. And by the way, that defender Hernandez sucks balls. 2 fatal mistakes in 1 match.
oh i should have answered you here but i write it directly under the comment.
@Lesartistes101 he is key to our offence. great passer with killer speed off the wing. if he can improve his defence a little we cam have him as a consistent star in tje team
the pace isnt that high but the rivalry is high , it was verry sloppy match but exciting
@ulfhedir what are you talking about they are no more franchised than epl teams
I was at this game, and some dude behind me was cheering for both teams and i was like wtf?
Straffespark is penalty in danish, now you've learnt a tiny bit more :)
And in the UK, one of the most watched footy shows is called "Soccer AM", doesnt mean we call it soccer here :) No one uses the word cap here, but at least I know that now :>
Yea, ESPN is showing a lot of soccer right now..I don't know maybe it will be big like NFL,NBA,MLB,NHL...Preyingg. I watched soccer today too..
I wouldn't talk trash about Denmark seeing as how they qualified for the Euros and were able to put up a good fight in the group of death.
San Jose goal keeper #1 can be in the national team. He is dan good !
Obviously, but for an MLS game this was exciting.
beckham still legend.
I heart Julie Foudy
hahaha as in Italy I also read them even in america the fans are very "hot". I see that your soccer has improved very much and also follow the American League for quite some time, it is REALLY fun. Only CB .. sometimes have some problems. Also continue to follow your league now that my team is in the SERIE C, i have many time: (. I just have to pick the team to root for
I WAS THERE!!!!!!!!
me too!
wait...look at 5:08..what number is he??
GRANDE "MUMA" BERNARDEZ, GRANDE MARVIN CHAVEZ!!!!!
Maybe he just wanted to watch football and enjoys it when a team scores.
No that one i understood, and i wasn't talking about that at all. I was talking abut his attitude. His show off....really pull ups on the goal...
The Earthquakes name is a tribute to the old NASL club of the 1970's which was also named San Jose Earthquakes.....and if you can believe it, the NASL was perhaps even MORE ridiculous than the current MLS.
I wonder if LA will try and trade for a keeper during the window. Saunders was great last year but he's completely lost it now. He's averaging at least one bad goal against per game.
GO SAN JOSE!!!
EARTHQUAKES I WAS AT THAT GAME!
So much damn traffic on the way to this game. -__-
enlighten me... what did he do this time?
Chavez is world class!
@22dab95 yes i agree i live in Colorado and saw our quakes when they came to town a couple of weeks back . he has the reach and ability to be great just needs to command the field better. hes to quiet for a keeper. go quakes!!! and we piss on galaxy! !!
@ArmadaX96 So did Ireland. Does that mean Ireland is good just because they qualified?
@aaronschainm Yeah, it was pretty exciting watching 0-0 draws after extra time. European soccer is so much 'elite' from American soccer. If I were you, I would dread of looking into the future and witnessing Euro soccer in the shadows of American soccer. As you can see in this video; there is serious potential.
