nice work! with those 2 batteries will it work for larger smart film surface, like 2 mq (18qft) ?

Super neat! It's so simple with your tutorial.

I would like you to do a fun project by making a design. Something simple like an X and an O with a single switch operating it. Can the be done? Can this be used as an artist's medium? I am assuming that there has to be a connection between to two objects. How big would that connection have to be? What I am wondering is, how intricate can you design the film shapes? Also, I wonder if a person could apply the film into the dead space of another design so they could switch between two designs. Or apply the film to animate an arm waving. Like the big neons but smaller scale. Is it on/off or can you dim it with a potentiometer (dimmer) Ive noticed some slight bending. is there a min radius? As a frame of reference, will it form around a cup or a coffee can or a a bucket?

How much voltage, wattage, and amperage does it take to activate the film?

Trying to work this out, but volts from 60-240 seem to be common. must be AC, no idea of the current draw.

@@E44792 It's definitely not DC, from what I can tell it's 50Hz, and depending on the supplied power supply anything from 30-60VAC I haven't tried powering it myself and varying the voltage. The DC 3V power supplies appeared to put out less voltage, but my CRO was reading kHz. it's a dodgy cheap CRO so I'm not sure if the frequency was picking up the PWM to produce the wave. The wave does not appear to matter if it's sinusoidal or not. More info when I get around to it.

Do they sell each of these pieces separately for you to mount them like you did? If so, where do I buy these separate parts? I always thought they would sell the whole thing put together instead.

I got a question.. This film seems flexible but still somewhat rigid, if you were to heat this film up with a heatgun and make it malleable to take the shape of the object you're sticking it onto, would it still work after that..? Or does the surface have to be perfectly flat?

@@skitbra1261 what do you mean by lower power? lower voltage? it's AC, so I doubt a pot will work. lower current? like add a limiter? what for lower power?

@@KudaPucat What are you rambling about, it's AC?! Look at the video again, it's direct current. AC would work over a pot anyway... Do you know what Power is? P for power Voltage * Ampere, you can't change Amps so obviusly the voltage???! Lol.

@@skitbra1261well that’s correct but not overly clear. Many devices are current devices. You definitely can limit current. Suggesting to change power is ambiguous. I think you’ve said voltage, which I appreciate. However these devices definitely require AC around 60V
