I honestly feel like the Endgame Cap is the most definitive Cap just because it’s the most comic accurate with the scales and all. Same with MK85 Iron Man

Hasbro is making some good stuff in most of their lines, the average person just can't get a hold of them. Their distribution plan is a joke. I have had preorders on pulse and gamestop be cancelled with no explanation, but yet you see people making videos and reddit post about getting the figure early. Hasbro is garbage tier at this point.
@@chrisdaugherty8265 Same here. I got the rest of the set but Wolverine (not interested) and there is no way to find that Storm. This kind of things make me so mad... I can totally understand that a figure can have more demand than expected, but then just produce some more to cover for it and avoid letting anybody out!

I am so happy you collect these, I have been tempted to get into Marvel Legends and this video is pretty inspiring and informative!
So happy to hear "Winter Soldier" is your fav. MCU film, Mike! By far my fav. as well, though personally its a toss-up between the elevator scene and Nick Fury's Car Chase scene for best fight (there's so many great fights, hard to pick. The car chase leading into Black Widow's fight leading into the knife fight between Cap and W.S. also just brilliant) As always, love hearing the back story behind the figures and why you made the choices you made. Thanks so much for the vid!

Sorry, RANDOM THOUGHT: an IDEA for an intro scene for Retroblasting. Whenever an episode involves the MCU, Michael appears as Captain America, and Melinda is Black Widow!
I've loved this line since the inception back in 2002.
Great video. I did something similar with the ww2 cap, altho I removed the entire neck from a fodder figure that I hated and removed caps neck with a scalpel and I was able 2attach the fodder neck with epoxy resin. I then made a collar from an old accessory and added the same cap head as you. It doesn't look perfect but really improved the height of the figure so it scales well with the rest of Hasbro caps.

I’ve loved Chris Evan’s time as Cap. The First Avenger was my favourite among the MCU’s phase one of movies because of the WW2 aspect of his origins and his suit is my favorite. I’m glad he was given a second chance to be in a Marvel movie but also he was able to finish his time till Endgame. I know we recently had the First Avenger 2 pack with Peggy and Cap with his first time in action. I’m hoping Hasbro would give us an update to that figure.
Maybe it's just me being more enthusiastic with stories from WW2, but I just prefer the look of the Captain America from the First Avenger over the other suits.

I collect Iron Man like you do Cap, I've got all his MCU Armors Hasbro's made (and then some). I have one Cap... and it's the MCU 10th Civil War 2 pack one... I think I made a very good choice.

I've been collecting marvel legends since the very first toybiz wave, actually got hooked thanks to the original Spider-Man movie figures. I'd love to see a video about your collection. As much as I love the MCU figures, and I have a few, recently due to a limited toy budget I've focused more on the comic versions. Still, it's fun to see a RUclipsr share a hobby who isn't collecting/reviewing ML as a job but just for fun.

Great video as always! They made another Cap from the First Avenger movie it was released during the winter soldier line if I’m not mistaken along with black widow and stealth suit cap, also there’s a two pack that have Falcon and Bucky in there infinity war/endgame costumes. Also there’s a marvel select Falcon in his winter soldier outfit! Not sure if its up your alley since they’re seven inch scale but never hurt to spread the word! Keep up the amazing work!
Funny I had the entire collection of toy biz marvel legends, and it all started with a punisher figure I bought for a toy drive but forgot the figure. So I opened it and was blown away with the Quality. Not seeing an action figure since the early 90s the articulation was insane! So I had him alone for about 4 years then I started to stop partying and got in my late 20’s I collected the entire toy biz line, when hasbro took over they weren’t as good so I stopped. I then got back into my first love, Star Wars! So I sold off the marvel legends but I still have the punisher and my captain America! I saved the comic version of cap but wish I kept the ww2 as well. But it’s funny I had punisher for a few year by himself, then had all his friends and now he is alone again with captain America
I know this video is old, but did you get any of those newer Black Widow movie figures?
Regarding the Quantum suit cap, I picked up the Target exclusive Hawkeye/Black Widow set with a variety of heads. I used an unmasked cap head from either the Peggy two-pack or the Endgame Walmart exclusive to create Quantum cap with no helmet. And the Hawkeye head can go on the Ronan figure to make an Endgame unmasked Barton/Ronan
Another trick: the Pepper head from the IM3 Mandarin 3-pack fits on the Endgame Rescue figure to create a helmetless Rescue
And for Jane Foster, grab a Black Series Padme. Close enough

My favorite Captain America is the recent Avengers Endgame Walmart exclusive Power & glory The headsculpt is pretty good and helmet is pretty amazing. The Original Avengers Captain America is still the tallest Cap, I think. The shield was woeful by being the smallest shield to ever and have the weirdest hip joint ever.

Good video. Yea, Marvel Legends is a line that feels like a roller coaster... you get a ton of product each year that is really hit or miss... not a lot of in between... and it's getting pretty expensive :x

Great video! I love the legends line but I only have a few odd figures. I just have too much investment in other lines to take up a line as massive as Marvel Legends. One of these days though...

The head from the time travel suit works great with the ww2 cap suit and i gave the sheild to the age of ultron cap since this ones more metallic and movie acurate

Awesome video also I'm planning to do reget my 1st avenger captain America figure again The 1st thing that I'm gonna do is swap out the shields it's going to be the worthy captain America shield and it's more movie accurate to the first avenger And get the 2 pack Up Steve rogers and Peggy carter for the head sculpt to make a more Up Steve rogers and Peggy carter for the head sculpt to make a more movie accurate first avenger Steve rogers.
The new Steve Rodgers / Sam Wilson combo pack I found on Amazon is a pretty good Captain America.

Being a kid in the 90's was such an amazing time. You would still grow up with a lot of stuff coming from the height of the 80's ... carrying its spirit into a technically more advanced world with improved production and distribution methods and the early rise of the internet near the end of it.
Dude, these companies should hire you as a consultant for a bajillion dollars. Too many films and action figure lines come out without running it by a true blue fan.
Hmm. Just kind of wondering now, if you could do a parts swap on any of your vintage stuff, what would you do it with? I mean, we do sometimes have that feeling with certain rarer figures of any breed where maybe an element or two could've been done better, but we can't bring ourselves to do it since it'd be too expensive to replace it if the swap goes awry for whatever reason(broken parts and all that), so I'm curious as to whether or not you've felt that temptation.
They did a WWII Cap from the comics with a bike. You could put WWII MCU on that which would mask his height.

Slight correction on the WW2 cap figure. The Walmart exclusive was repackaged for a widely released Marvel Legends branded figure (without the machine gun). That’s how I got it and I wasn’t aware it was a Walmart exclusive before.
I didn’t start collecting MCU six inch until after they switched to the “Infinite” all-in box style packaging instead of card-and-bubble in 2014. WW2 cap was released as part of the wave timed to Winter Soldier (same wave as the stealth suit cap with the face that looked so weird to me I initially assumed it was from a comic book version of the suit).
But yeah, I think it’s the same mold so not “revisited”

They did a Falcon and Bucky 2-pack for endgame. They didn't sell very well and Target clearenced them for next to nothing. I think I got mine for 10 or 15 bucks. It's possible they are cheap enough to pick up on ebay since they were so overstocked. I am pretty sure it was a Target exclusive.
Would like you to see your take on the SDCC Exclusive Luke Skywalker Set w/some great sculpt-work & great facial "photo-real paint apps as well as the new TVC Skiff. Some excellent work by Hasbro & arguably one of their best to date. It seems like Hasbro can do some excellent work on modern figures & vehicles when everything lines up. Now if they could only work out a better distribution method...Then again, toy stores are no longer a thing, at least not here in the US. :( I guess internet shopping will have to do for now.

In the middle of all these coming out, Hasbro developed a new face scanning tech to make them look more like the actors. I remember Pixel Dan talking to one of them about it at SDCC. So a lot of the figures before like 2015 don’t really look good face wise. The Paul Rudd Ant Man figure was the first to use it and it was brought on talk shows by Paul himself because of how real it looked. Haha
I distinctly remember that Cap's WWII uniform *was* actually revisited in the Marvel Legends line when Captain America: The Winter Soldier came out. Because he steals that suit from the museum and wears it in the film's finale, Hasbro did release a Marvel Legends figure of Cap in that costume in the same wave as the Stealth Suit Cap. So he's incorrect there.

Edit: WOW. They really messed up the scale on that rescue cap. In that shot from the movie you showed, Peggy's eyes are just above Steve's chin, which is exactly how her figure scales with him in his costume. If anything, she's too short compared to Rescue cap.
What you could do is dremel the ball socket in Steve Roger's head so it'll sit lower on the neck.
With modern Hasbro there is always a “but”..something not right. Black widow: infinity war was my 1st Marvel Legends..reasoning to make a custom Baroness.. to my surprise.. I actually liked it. Biggest disappointment has been their Black Series for StarWars.. ONLY two ( Bespin Han And Hoth Leia actually looked like Fisher and Ford) Both actually made me feel like the good ol days. As always look your insights

Just to underscore how much of a gimmick the Build a figure is, after bowing BAF in Legends Infinite in 2014, and Hasbro would mix MCU BAFs with the comic-based figures the movie fans would only buy to get the BAF piece, I think wasn’t until the MBaku BAF wave of Black Panther in early 2019 where all the figures in the wave were based on the MCU versions. I believe the Fat Thor Endgame wave later this year is all-MCU as well.

The Captain America figure you are looking for is coming. From The First Avenger it’s his full Cap look and comes with his motor cycle.
The figure I see with the cycle is not his First Avenger look, but a reinterpretation of his rescue uniform.
@@retroblasting On closer inspection I see what you mean, it's closer to a basic Captain America but not really his definitive First Avenger look.
That Cap is just a reissue of the original. So the height won't change.
Unless it's a rehash of parts, There was a version of Cap in his World War 2 uniform made for the Legends Mandroid build a figure wave.

I wonder if toy companies will ever offer a la carte builds for figures, enabling someone to do what you've done here without having to buy three figures in order to make one.

i have to agree with you on your assessment of the Capt America First Avenger action figure. and whats really odd about him, besides the fact that his legs are clearly disproportionate to the rest of his body, is tha fact that he has such a long neck. it almost doesnt look human.

Yeah I'm aware, but the figure is otherwise exactly the same. No improvement to height or face sculpt, so there's little point in mentioning it, is there?
The two new figures look great. I wish they'd do Peggy in 3.75 scale though because she'd be great for Indiana Jones customs of Elsa Schneider and the Nazi radio operator in LC.

The Falcon/Winter Soldier 2-Pack for Infinity War has a better version of both, but criminally lacks accessories.
I can see why you get frustrated with Hasbro - Consistency is all over the place. For the amount they are charging, they should not have these type of problems that require you to head and part swap. Then again, you have high standards. I get it... :-)

Surely nowadays Hasbro's business plan must include the collector market. Why then do they consistently frustrate collectors? I read other people bemoaning Hasbro's distribution here, but try living in Europe: there's just no way for a collector to keep up with all these exclusives. We simply have to come to terms with spending twice the price on the secondary market. If I was a Hasbro shareholder, I would be quite exasperated. Do they just not like money or what?

All this kit bashing makes me thankful I’m still not seeking our action figures of Marvel characters from the films. I’m hoping the Alex Ross Marvel Legends series will get more figures. They’re masterpieces.
