- A language is always closely related to the culture of those who speak that language. For proper Biblical Interpretation one must understand the mechanics and cultural background to the Hebrew language.

@Axxeeellll1 Yes, I am familiar with chi and believe it to be equivelent to the Hebrew word Neshemah meaning breath and also the Hebrew word hhai (which can be written as chi) meaning life.
I like "breather," but in my translational work of the Bible I am looking for one or two English words for one Hebrew. the problem is that the word neshemah means "breath" or "breather" and therefore I would need another "concrete" word for Nephesh. Any ideas?
Interesting about the Aborigines of Australia. I personally think that we naturally think in cocrete terms but have to be trained to think in abstracds, which is why abstracts come easier to us.
