Shaye the new studio/office is perfection! That botanical print with the blue/white primula in the center is spectacular! Where in the world did you find it? Stu this is an absolutely stunning video, you both have such incredible talent. Cheers to new endeavors!
I bought a bunch of your pieces for my dining space and I cannot tell you how much they transformed the space! I adore your work and am so very inspired.
Life is art.😄 I’m a pastel painter and we live very similar lives. I garden, grow our food, care for my husband and family. We are blessed beyond comprehension because we know in our heart of hearts we are here to create! Much love from Arizona. Thank you for sharing your studio time.
Shaye, I was an avid photographer & videographer in my high school days. During college and the 8 years after I lost touch with my passion. During the pandemic I decided I would take the leap into creating my own RUclips channel to share my families story and relearn my passion for videography. This video has inspired me to focus again on the photography side of things. Thank you for that!
This is weird to say because we don’t actually know each other, but I love you! You have a beautiful heart and thank you for sharing your (both Shaye and Stu) life and art with us.
Your photography is stunning and you are doing it 'well'. Truly. I have never teared up watching a video like this but your work as an artist, a homemaker, cook, and gardner speaks volumes to me and it has been lovely watching you bloom into who you are as an artist on your channel. . You are succeeding and it's a joy to see it.. You are so sweet to remember and mention your mentors, including your mother, and the influence they have had on you through the years.
I’m happy to see you in good spirits, Shaye. I can recall you saying the winters were a bit difficult for you so I’m grateful for your creations in the season. God bless you.
Oh, a deep sigh as I watch this video. When I was your age, I was so inspired and creative...I haven’t felt that for the last few years or so, as I just turned 50. I’m still young at heart, but feel like all the years in the corporate world have dampened my creativity so much. I was a marketing major and took many design classes at a local college, but I’m currently in Avery technical role that leaves me miserable...anyway, this video has given me a reminder of how it feels to be creative again. I remember walking through campus with my big art portfolio and thinking, this feels so good and it was such an inspiring time. Thank you for sharing this!
You can find it, it’s still there! Take some small step this week, something you loved, a small step to pursue that again. Getting started is the hardest part!
I too feel that my creative juices have been drained from working the stressful 9 to 5pm. I hope now with retirement and only working part time I can recover those juices
For me, the hardest part of being creative is being able to slow down, it takes me a lot of empty space in my schedule for the creativity to start flowing. Right now it’s on hold, but not forever!
Hey, just a few ideas for you... a table full and ready for feasting. A picnic setup in the orchard. A tea party setup and overflowing with flowers and sweet things to eat. Sitting down to a great cup of tea/coffee and a good old book.
You are no poser, Shaye. You ARE an artist in all things you put your skilled hands to. ♡ I am so looking forward to seeing you grow and express your joy through this work. It shines through you! ♡ I am very much enjoying my "Spring Pansies."
I love how you elevate homekeeping, gardening and child rearing. Your canvas is beautiful and you are indeed an artist who has painted a beautiful life! Your photography is stunning!
The farmhouse look has been popular for about ten years. Beige, white, little kitchy signs etc. Nothing wrong with that but I like what you have done so much more. You've thrown a bit of France in the mix and it has made all the difference. I live on a little homestead of two and a half acres with sheep and chickens in Florida. The property is beautiful to me but the house is a 26 year old mobile home (talk about a challenge!). I have risen to it on the inside anyway. It actually has a room with a fireplace which I have made into an old world library/ English cottage. The whole thing has a comfortable feel. You are very talented and it shows in everything you do. Keep those videos coming. Our little homestead is on Pinterest under Karen Insua.
I hardly ever comment on videos, however I have followed you all for a few years, and when someone puts themselves out there like you have, it feels like a crime not to affirm them. And I must say, there is much to affirm. Your art is beautiful. The images are unique, so rich, full of depth, texture, feeling... I especially love the piece with the broken pots. Beauty out of brokenness. Thank you for being bold enough to offer your gift to the world. ❤️ Love, a fellow 'poser' artist 🙃
I feel like a poser also. I'm an engineer and I got to that position working my way up through manufacturing during 25 years. I'm now finishing my degree at 50 years of age to be actually recognized as an engineer even though I've done the work for years. I just purchased your "From What's Broken" photo. It speaks to me a lot.
Every time I see your photographs, my heart fills with such peace and joy. I can’t speak for the rest of the world, but my little piece relishes in the beauty and talent you share.
I drank in every moment of this beautiful video, in itself a work of art. Thank you, Shaye. Even though we’re pretty much the same age and doing many of the same things, you have become a mentor to me, and I am deeply grateful. 🤍
I don't think I have heard someone explain so eloquently a simple yearning for the simple life, home, family, nature, prayer....you said all that beautifully!
Isn’t it magical how as you age you find that different parts of your life that were once tiny separated puzzle pieces begin to somehow grow to fit together into one complete unified picture? This is something I’m currently going through too. I actually started life as an artist, had a thriving photography career for 15 years, then hung it all up to focus on my homeschool kids, my health and my life. Artist was my identity, photography was my work, gardening was my hobby and mental escape, healthy food was my passion, homeschooling mom was my mission. All of these separate identities have began to merge into one big identity that makes sense for me today in ways I couldn’t predict just a few short years ago and is allowing me to build a life, a brand, and a business that flawlessly combines all the once separate aspects of my personality. And as a photographer I must say, your work is absolutely stunning. I’m looking at your website right now and you show a masterful use of lighting and arrangement to create depth and drama in your scenes that rival the master painters from long ago. You are not a poser. You are an artist with your own unique vision. Own it, and be proud to call yourself an artist.
I delight in watching others being lead by God, down paths towards experiences that brighten one's soul. For He knows what joy is ahead of each of us.....if only we will allow Him to guide us. You ARE an artist... Your pictures are stunning...but I also love the way you and your husband capture your cottage life on the farm with artistic word choice. All of your videos remind us to be present as we navigate through each day. ...a day to rejoice and be glad in...
You are so inspiring!!! We just moved to 5 acres (West Australia). Spent all our money on a couple of cows and now starting again from scratch. No money but a beautiful old foresters cottage, an old orchard and a blank canvas our vegetables and for my elliott homestead inspired flower garden surrounding the house! Thanks Shaye. Love your new project and also love the podcast, you guys are hilarious! Zoe x
I have the exact same feelings of being a poser! Lol. I have raised my Children and homeschooled them. Created a small homestead, and gardened and become a photographer as well. No one else around me sees the beauty I see. No one supports me. I felt stifled and not like a “real” photographer. I struggle to express myself and show Gods beauty to others around me. Thank you for sharing. This is very inspiring and I want to pick up my camera that I haven’t touched in almost two years! Bless you.
You inspired me to purchase Frances Palmer’s book and I devoured it. Bought it for my kindle and then bought the hard copy. I started out strong studying photography, but it was set aside when I had a year of major change...moved from the city to the country, changed jobs and entered a new level of my career. Now I live on almost 5 glorious acres of woods and land , and I’m so overwhelmed I don’t know where to start. I’d say picking up the camera again would be a good place. Love your work, love your channel, love your podcast. Motivates and inspires me.
I love, love, love your work. I became an artist the moment I called myself an artist. Yes, I had that Impostor Syndrome thing going on for a little while, but the transformation to "artist" happened when I publicly defined myself as such. Keep going, you bring beauty to the world.
Your genuine heart and love for your life is so incredible and inspiring. What makes these art prints special is the fact that they are made from you and your passion. They are beautiful and I will surely purchase. Thank you for being so encouraging and so loving and real on your channel. You encourage me as a mother and woman in so many ways. My 6 year old daughter loves binge watching your channel with me :)
Watching this video, I finally was able to cry again, but this time in a healing way. I can’t explain the connection to you and to all the women out there drowning, frozen under so much rudeness and fear… not achieving the amazing potential and showing the simple and awesome beauty we carry inside. The way you describe your interaction with your mother shows the irreplaceable foundation for your achievements of today. Thank you for your courage, patience, faith and love!
This whole video is art, I love your work. I paint, but no I think that feeling never goes away. It certainly helps to have people like you (and Angela) as an example, thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone and speak the truth that is inside of us: I am an artist
Your channel has been inspiring me for quite sometime now, but this video came at just the right moment in my life. I am on a new journey and I have been trying to convince myself that my artistry is "good enough" to share with the world. Yet somehow I convince myself that it is not and hide in my uncertainty. Thank you for sharing your story and your journey with photography. Your photos are beautiful. Eagerly looking forward to seeing more of your work. Have a blessed day.
Beautiful video, and I loved hearing about where it all started. So proud for you for taking on this new endeavor! Your beautiful prints are quickly filling up my home.
I absolutely love them! The darker, richer colour palette is right up my street 😍 They completely avoid that slightly “twee” cottage vibe and are heartily rustic instead. Congratulations on a job well done 😊
It’s never too late to dive into a new passion. Do this as long as it fills your cup and with each attempt you will grow. You’re not a poser because you’re actually doing it!! The photos are beautiful and I can’t wait to see what is yet to come❤️
I sat down and watched this after a long day in the garden. Satisfying to the soul! Sooooooo beautiful - I love all of your art photos, Shaye. You have an artist's heart and can share what's on the inside, what a gift!
This is wonderful Shaye! You are such an encouragement just simply sharing your story- thank you so much - it means a lot for me! I love your channel, family and beautiful life you share! 🙏
Seems like everything you're doing here on this channel is true art. Your photography, videography, gardening,... just beautiful. A lot of style. Thank you for sharing! Really inspiring.
So beautiful. Stunning photography. Your video is such an inspiration for me. You have verbalised what I have been keeping to myself for a long time. Thankyou so much for bringing light to my thoughts
I love your art! I was sad to not see the one from much earlier on, with the garlic, for sale in your shop. Hah. It is one of my favorites! Beautiful everything, Shaye, congratulations.
Loved this video. I love to photograph flowers as well. Getting close up to the very beauty of the flower. Love your pictures. Felicity Jacobs, Cape Town, South Africa
I feel like there's so many people out there that want "this" and "that" because everyone ELSE wants those things... It's So important to take a step back & ask yourself "Is this really what I want?" Your video about your "ordinary" life really helped me realize that! I have never been the type to follow trends or buy things just because they were "in style" but it made me realize there were a few things on my wishlist just because that was the thing to do!
This is so beautiful!!! I am glad for creative souls like yours. I am not creative in this way. I’m an analytic. Lord help me! You should see how pitifully decorated my house is! And I have lived here four years! It’s so fun to watch you and listen to how you speak and feel that part of me, that hardly exists, is satisfied through you!
I love your vision, the way you decorate your home has always inspired me :) & of course all of your wonderful content! You are a talented artist with everything you do ❣️
You continue to be an inspiration to me as you grow as an artist and as I develop my style. Thank you for putting yourself out there and producing some beautiful pieces that carry so much emotion behind them!
I had a hard time connecting to your passion for this u til I remembered a photograph I took a year or two ago. I had gathered up a bunch of roses from the garden and plopped them in a vase, and set it on a table near my bay window. I thought it looked so pretty I took a picture of it. When I went to look at the photo, I was so surprised and pleased to see that I had accidentally made a beautiful Old World looking picture, not at all the art you have made, but I was so pleased with it. That memory connected me to what you are doing and a bit of the feeling you must get when you create these stunning photographs. I kind of get it, I think.
So beautiful!! such a beauty in all your art work. So much love for family and life, wishing you much health and joy and many blessings to you all. Thank you 🙏🌸
After a very long day I sat down and watched her video.Have been enjoying your channel for months now. You have inspired me in many ways and your prints are very moving. For all of us that do not live in the country they transport us. Your life’s work has such meaning to all of us who are lucky enough to find you.During this time of ups and downs I feel so lucky to be part of your life, even from afar.Beautiful photos I can feel your garden and home!
The sheer activity of creating makes you an artist. (Just like a writer is designated by the act of writing, and not that the work is published.) You are very humble, and the work is beautiful! The texture, the light, the objects,.....the new photographs have the same beautiful "vibe" as your blog...just lovely. (On a side note, the Canon AE-1 was the best camera ever! It was the only one at the time that could be automatic if you wanted or manual. My Dad gave me the same camera as I embarked on Art School at college. Congratulations on the new site and new endeavor!
GREAT WORK SHAY... Your HANDS AND HEART SPEAK. From a fellow artist with a EYE FOR BEAUTY KEEP CREATING AND NEVER THINK FOR A MOMENT that ARTIST is not what you are...KEEP SHINING LIGHTS 💡💡💡💚🦋
I studied film photography in college and still life was always my favorite. I’ve followed you on IG and RUclips because I like your garden design. The new work really speaks to me a lot! When I was a teenager, I wanted to be Georgia O’Keefe and somehow...it’s sort of happened. None of the fame, of course, but I’m living my life and seeing things in my own way with my own eyes, as you described it.
Shaye, these are the most stunning photographs..I'm speechless. I've also come to the realization that we just have to create for ourselves..to light that spark inside our soul. Demolishing the ego and the constant need to "be something" and replace it with the need to "create something". Thanks so much for your inspiration work as always. Love from Vancouver, Canada.
Love the photos. The first camera I bought was an Argus Rangefinder from the 1940's, at a thrift shop, years ago. It takes the best photos, I learned how to take b&w still life pictures on that. Although I still have the camera, I can't find film for it anymore. I use digital now, but I miss 35mm b&w film.
I love your outlook on life. My first job was at a greenhouse/flower shop as well and even now more than 20 years later, it is by far my favorite job ever (with the exception of motherhood )
I have just selected a handful of prints for the house we close on soon. You have inspired me to truly make a unique home and your photos exude that! Cant wait for their beautiful reminder in our our new space
OMG Shae, I feel you in every pictures you have shown, I will have to order some for myself once I am settled. Just love your vision so much. Thank you. Love from Canada.
They are beautiful. I love them all. Very European vibes. I wish I had many wall in my small cottage here in Mallorca Spain to enhance my home but what a pleasure just to see them. You are very talented. God bless you and your family .
I'm a newby Your channel is unique and you are so savvy and your silky voice makes all the difference. I love it and I have seen a lot of homesteaders.
Very inspiring. Your photography is beautiful. Keep creating. I write songs. But I don’t enough. Four kids 7 to infant .... it’s loud! Gotta make space. Thank you for offering your soul. It’s a beautiful one. Also thank you for showing that mothers can not only create but also involve their children in the process, even in small ways. Xo
Congratulations! As I was watching this video, I was like, I hope she is going to make these available for purchase! And, lo and behold, my wish was granted! I just placed an order for two prints and I can't wait. Just looking at them brings me clarity and peace. Best to you and I look forward to more of your fabulous Art!
Yes, The World is a garden. I took up the motto from a childs film, "See a need, fill a need." It has stuck with me. That's what we all need to do. Beauty fills a soul deep emotional, and visual need. We should all never stop creating and dreaming. It has takin me 45 yrs to find what I want to do in life and it's not working for the man. It also involves a greenhouse. There was a woman I read about recently who builds and plants gardens for people teaching them, and it's mostly urbanized people, about sustainability. It's beautiful. Thankyou for sharing and inadvertently daring us to dream by sharing the dream your living. Shalom.
A massive thanks to those of you who have encouraged me in this new endeavor. Much love to you 😚 shayeelliott.com/
Shaye the new studio/office is perfection! That botanical print with the blue/white primula in the center is spectacular! Where in the world did you find it? Stu this is an absolutely stunning video, you both have such incredible talent. Cheers to new endeavors!
Bravo Shaye! These are perfection and the love shows. I agree with Rachel C, I was so aware of the beautiful videography. Done so well.
I bought a bunch of your pieces for my dining space and I cannot tell you how much they transformed the space! I adore your work and am so very inspired.

Hey, just a few ideas for you... a table full and ready for feasting. A picnic setup in the orchard. A tea party setup and overflowing with flowers and sweet things to eat. Sitting down to a great cup of tea/coffee and a good old book.
Been following you for over eight years and I have loved seeing your creativity boom within the last couple of years. You’ve inspired me in many ways!

Beautiful, congratulations! We are all of us on a journey, thank-you for inspiring us to keep stretching ourselves and living our passions.
Every time I see your photographs, my heart fills with such peace and joy. I can’t speak for the rest of the world, but my little piece relishes in the beauty and talent you share.
You are an artist in so many aspects of your life, even with your words. Thank you for inspiring us.
Beautiful photos. You're living your best life!
Your prints are wonderful!!!!! I hope someday soon you’ll put them into a beautiful coffee table book ❤️🌷
I’m really struck wordless by the beauty, truth and encouragement here. Thank you so much.

Your artwork is beautiful and so is the way you live your life.

The beauty of your words equal your eye for beauty. Beautiful photography.
So beautiful. Stunning photography. Your video is such an inspiration for me. You have verbalised what I have been keeping to myself for a long time. Thankyou so much for bringing light to my thoughts
This video touched me so deeply as it felt as though you spoke the words that I haven’t been able to thus far. You continue to be an inspiration.
Dreamy. I have never cared for still life photography but this is so incredible.
GREAT VIDEO!!!
thank you
I love your art!

Beautiful, truly. It is hard to be vulnerable and share your journey and process. Good one you for being brave, you are very talented.
Shaye! I’m redoing my kitchen and definitely ordering your beautiful art! Thank you thank you... it’s absolutely perfect!
I love your vision, the way you decorate your home has always inspired me :)
& of course all of your wonderful content!
You are a talented artist with everything you do ❣️
Love, double love this video! Inspiring and your heart is wide open and joy is radiating from you!!! Yeah, girl!!
You are truly an artist! You see the beauty and capture it.
Thank you so much for showing me what I love, just as you do. I needed to see this today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
You continue to be an inspiration to me as you grow as an artist and as I develop my style. Thank you for putting yourself out there and producing some beautiful pieces that carry so much emotion behind them!
Absolute perfection! You are amazing. Your life studio is an inspiration.
I get 35mm black and white film on Amazon for my Canon AE1!
I love your outlook on life. My first job was at a greenhouse/flower shop as well and even now more than 20 years later, it is by far my favorite job ever (with the exception of motherhood )
So proud for you!

Shalom.
