    Warlock is an OG cosmic hero - I’m glad the MCU is not rushing him into a one-and-done.

    FF 66/67 are the key stone books to Warlock. Without those 2 books there is no Warlock Grossly undervalued and with the last panel to FF 67 it’s iconic.

    Really love the Thor 165 cover and I would chase that after the other picks, but they're all essential to his origin story. If he does show up in the next Guardians movie, I feel like he would be more of a jokey character and not some godlike being like in the comics. I could see him start as a villain being Her's (Ayesha's) lover but then eventually turning on Her and joining the Guardians. He's similar to Vision, like a perfect being but having to experience emotions and fit in with the team.

    • @Swagglehaus
      @Swagglehaus  3 года назад +1

      Yeah I wonder if Adam Warlock will take the place of Drax in the team. Seems like Dave Batista might be done with the MCU for a bit. So to your point, he might be a bit more comedic.

    I have an ff66 ff67 and thor 165. Marvel premiere and power of warlock are afterthoughts in my account. Thor 165 will always be regarded as the most collected and most valuable it's a great cover and really difficult in high grade. But I agree the sleepers are marvel premiere and power of warlock

    • @Swagglehaus
      @Swagglehaus  3 года назад +2

      Yeah for sure, I mean the market overall has spoken and it seems like Thor 165 is the "winner". But MP1 I think has more room to grow.

    Another good one Swag. I am a huge fan of the marvel space or cosmic genre and made a conscientious effort over ten maybe fifteen years ago to acquire any space related books and miniseries. So having every issue out there to do with warlock I can tell you your best 5 was in sync with mine although I may opt for the first issue of the 42 issue run of the Warlock and the Infinity Watch series. Yes it was wild and wacky but I loved the characters Including Pip the Troll. Keep doing what you’re doing man … I think your podcasts are knocking it out of the park!

  • @johnmuse6626
    @johnmuse6626 3 года назад +1

    I have all these and luckily, I have two nice copies of Thor 165, one around a 6.5 and the other around an 8.5. I believe I gave about 10 dollars each for them back in the 90s. The FF 66/67 are probably 5.0ish. The Marvel Premiere 1 and Warlock 1 I have are 8.0 or maybe a little better. I believe you'd see the Marvel Premiere 1 make a run at 25,000 in 9.8 now. I believe the last sale was 3 years ago, that's why it's less than a 9.8 Warlock 1.

    it is FF #66 because this is Adam Warlocks first appearance. saying different is like saying daredevil #1 is not his true origin because he went to a red uniform, or iron man when he went to his new suit. later.There is not such thing as a "cameo first appearance"..they either appeared or they did not.All other arguments are only based on making money by selling comics they speculated on.

    • @mikeswiental4815

      Well in 66 we only see the machine/cocoon thing. We don't actually see the character. So I think that's where people push back. 67 however there is no denying that you see HIM.

    So I have all of these (hear me out), but only got two of them 'on purpose', as it were. I bought both of the FF's when I was a teenager when they were dirt cheap and just sort of came into the rest of them (doubled several times) by sheer coincidence whenever I bought a collection off of Craigslist or wherever. It became a running joke with myself that any collection I bought was guaranteed to have at least one Warlock book in it. The last collection I bought right before the pandemic had almost the entire run of the 1972 series. Funny part is that I don't even like Space Jesus! I might revisit the material if he's coming to the MCU tho.
