      I think that was pretty common, see a lot of them like that. That one is slated for a bit of a restoration.

    I was told in the past that the 16 speed model was more reliable than the 32 speed model because of the nut at the end of the shaft tend to come loose, my friend had a 3070 years ago and what he'd said they'd did was they got the dealership to put gearbox back to front because the reverse speed was faster than the forward speed to get 40K out of it, but it didn't come without it's problems because of the vibrations from the gearbox, the 3075's came with the Dynashift but reliability remains debatable from people in the past and preasent who had or have those gearboxes but I suppose it's the luck of the draw I suppose, great video 👍I've always had a very soft spot for the 3000, 3100, 3600 series tractors and always loved their cabs prefferd it more than the Ford 7600 Q cab at the time which was quite loud at the time, but the regular driver who drove the 3125 had great taste in music at the time in the 90's Lol. I've always had a very soft spot for those series despite me being an International die hard guy but I would have a 3000 series any day along with my International's, 😊 thanks for the video, you've certainly brought back alot of happy memories when I last saw the inside of a 3000series cab.😊

      The 32 speeds were known to be more problematic than the 16 but a lot of that was the fault of the operators, I guess going from A to B ranges on the move is quite hard on it and that’s that happened to a lot of them. I don’t know the full details on it as we’ve not had any problems ourselves.
      I thought I remembered reading one time there was a kit maybe dealer install that would allow them to go 40k, maybe that’s what they did. Reverse gears are definitely faster.
      Our White 6710 has the Dynashift in it but that was around for awhile when those tractors came out, it’s a much better transmission but I don’t know much about the reliability of the early ones.
      Glad you like seeing the 3000 series tractors, we have 3 of them here and use them a fair bit. Don’t see many other guys on YT running them, always nice to see something different.

    Nice video. I have a 32 speed and have 40k In it. The blank buttons on the back of the right side are for individual lift control buttons like those on the rear fender and one for the rear wiper

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  5 лет назад

      Interesting. I’ve never had one with fender buttons, none of our 3 3000 series tractors have them.

      bigbainz2 I guess we got shafted over here never gave us the good stuff lol. We don’t do much road hauling, if we do I’ll make a video but we only have a couple fields that are off the main farm property and they are 1-2km away max haha.

      3060 is a good tractor too, non turbo little bigger engine than the 3070. 3080 and up were all 6 cylinder.

    There’s a guy on Facebook that’s selling 3 tractors. 3090, 3545, and an 1105. Says he’s selling for a friend that’s getting out of farming. He wants 12,5 for all 3. Opinions?? Says he wants 4k for the 3090. I know something is fishy but just how fishy could it be?

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  4 года назад

      They must be complete basket cases or something. 4k is cheap for a 3090, real cheap. I’d tread carefully with a “deal” like that .

    • @cameronnalley3197
      @cameronnalley3197 4 года назад

      Mac Farms yeah that’s what I thought. I like the 3000 series a lot but man....... I guess it can’t hurt to at least look. Just looking for something to replace my IH 1086. A bit big for my hay operation. Thank you!

    • @cameronnalley3197
      @cameronnalley3197 4 года назад +1

      Mac Farms hey I went and looked at the 3090. It started real good. Steering cylinder is leaking. Needs a seal. Cab is in rough shape. Not a big deal. He said the clutch needs to be bled. But I’m thinking get in it for 4k put a few thousand in it and roll with it. Whatcha think? It ain’t gonna win a beauty contest but idk man. Oh and we overhead him telling someone he has to sell something because he’s broke. I was told wrong. Price is 5500. So maybe it’s not really a 5500 tractor. Just broke needing to sell something

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  4 года назад

      Sorry I missed this Cameron. If you looked at it and figure it's something you can make work on the cheap then maybe it is worth it. Mechanically they are a pretty sound tractor, the problems with them are typically electronic related, not that everything can't be bypassed with toggle switches, it's a bit crude but it will function, not how I like to run equipment but a cheap tractor is a cheap tractor right.

    • @cameronnalley3197
      @cameronnalley3197 4 года назад

      Mac Farms the 3 point toggle doesn’t work so it’s hooked up to work off a remote valve. Don’t really like that. But then again I don’t have to have a 3 point. Can take it off and be fine. It’s still for sale but we can’t decide. I’d really like to help this guy out. Just an old dairy farmer that can’t make money in it anymore. Stuffs literally falling apart around him. Sad. Unfortunately we’ll be seeing a lot more of this....
