lol i understand what they're saying. They just said it wrong. You can tell a lot about a person by the music they listen to. Corrines music does attracts a specific type of person. However, scolding those who listen to other types wasn't the right way to boast about listening to her music.
Everyone's tastes are different, that doesn't make them any less of a person, or a drone in this case.

These videos are so well done and so pleasing to the eye. She's a goddess of chill and mellow music. My goodness... I'm only four songs into this album and I've already ruled it a smash.

+Zach Bond I actually think that the video is awful. It's shot well but the CGI is bad, and there's not really much of a narrative except that she's crash landed and that's about it. It's not even particularly artsy. There's just really not much to it, a few nice shots that's it.
Luckily I didn't come here for the video, I came here for Corinne's music, and she delivers. I think the synth is a little piercing at times but the song is great and it makes me look forward to the rest of the album.
I do agree the dislikes seem a little disproportionate though.
+Farrell Roll You too!? The video is a mess. But I like Corrine Bailey Rae though. What I actually did this morning was listen to it in my car without looking at the video. A much better listening experience versus watching the video and listening to it.This is actually one of those songs that grows on you the more you listen to it. This style and sound is very different for her. Question is, can she do more nice songs that step away from her Sade- ish style.
+myles7771 Totally with you. Song has grown on me since the first listen, I already liked it but the sharp synth was a bit much at first. I still think it's a little too heavy hitting but I don't find it as jarring anymore. I agree on the style change too, i'll admit I was a little worried at first because I don't want her to see her go the route a lot of returning artists do where they overuse all the new technology & production toys, it's even worse when they don't mesh well with their musical style too.
After hearing Green Aphrodisiac though I stopped worrying because that song is great and feels a lot like "Closer" to me, which is a big favourite. I am hoping the album dips and turns between these two styles because I love her older stuff but I am also excited to see what else she can do.
I think she will deliver though. She's a great artist.
But seriously.. I don't know how the video was released like this. I have seen better production from undergrads. The cgi isn't even the worst offender in it.
I just noticed that in the opening shot you can clearly see a prop sheet of faux sand overlapping a more authentic looking area of sand. This has to be intentional... Is the setting supposed to look bad? Have I misunderstood and there is some kind of real narrative? I am confused now haha. It wouldn't be in the centre of the opening shot by accident so is the CGI purposely bad? I don't know, some kind of jab at the moon landing? That's all I can think of. I am having genuine difficulty understanding now.

What I love about CBR is that she keeps exploring her artistry. I think all 3 of her CDs and her EPs as well are different (all of which I owned and purchased in support of her). It's like she keeps revealing new petals on a huge flower that is her artistry. Ok, maybe I'm gushing too much love now. But she is an amazing talent to me!
