    This is when the Spurs absolutely owned the Jazz beating them 18 in a row, a streak that started in April 2000 and didn't end until January 2005.

    This was a very close one on one matchup. Tim Duncan won this matchup in scoring and defense.

    I forgot Malone had such a great mid-range catch-and-shoot.

    Wow, 17/17.
    This is the first season Timmy clipped 80% in his FTs. This accuracy helped for him to average 25-plus ppg.
    This was the first and last time he had this kind of scoring.
    The next season, his FTs dipped to 71%, and so his scoring (23-plus ppg).
    The second and last time Timmy had an 80% FT shooting was in 2012-13 season (83%?). Perhaps that feat brought him back to All-NBA First Team at age 37, amidst load management, lower stats, and inevitable decline.

    Refs can't save the Jazz from TD.

    And Karl Malone would do this at 40 if he played today…. And it would be easier for him than it was here in 2002. No hand or forearm checking, the spacing, and defense is largely discouraged. They act like a 40 year old still playing effectively like this is something we have never seen before…..

    Prime example how Finesse player like Scott Padgett what he had to deal on with in 90s. If be he was in this era he would had veen a better player

      They were not even matched up with each other! 😂 He was matched up with David (who was only like a year younger than him) and Malik . They only scored on each other like once or twice! How did he cook him? 😂 I'll take Timmy over Malone any day!

    • @seveneleve7-11
      @seveneleve7-11 9 месяцев назад +3

      He was more durable in his career. Except his last season as a Laker
      TD's career started declining in 2006

    • @nmr20067
      @nmr20067 8 месяцев назад

      And look at what he was doing at 40 here. But they act like another guy that is 39 and still effective is something we have never seen before…. If a 40 year old Karl Malone played right now he would just as effective….

      @@arnoldgarcia5544 People just will never respect Karl for what happened off the court, but on the court there wasn’t a player alive who doesn’t get cooked by him. Karl didn’t have a first ballot HOFamer in David Robinson manning the paint. Karl didn't have two HOFamers on the same team like a Manu or Parker. Karl didn’t have darn near a super team in 2013 with HOFamer Kawhi added. DPOY candidate in Bowen and a sniper in Sean Elliot. All Karl had was Stockton. Tim had no business winning that 2005 FMVP that should’ve went to Manu. Parker won 2007 FMVP and Kahwi won 2013 FMVP. Duncan was very privileged.
