Gyaru is like many other fashion styles and subcultures; there's really no specific way to do it and there's many different styles within it. That's the beauty of it.

Toxic goths often also do not realise that some people can't afford goth fashion and/or their parents won't let them dress that way. Goth was originally a music genre (and it still is) but lots of toxic goths as just a fashion style.
As a person who has many gyaru friends, common gyaru theme is to defy what Japan considers pretty. For example dark hair is seen as pretty while light hair is usually not. I find it cool for you to explore these themes!
