It was a press headline at the time, this episode just repeated it.
@@cdwyer737 I’m not saying you’re wrong but the Oxford English Dictionary, Collins Dictionary, BBC, the New Statesman, the Word Histories website and others all disagree with you about the origin of this word. They all state that it was invented by the writers of The Thick of It and first used in this episode.
Which Newspaper was it first used in as a headline? I’m happy to be educated.

It was even big enough to cross over to the states, we had "Romneyshambles" when Romney was running in '12, I think around the time it got out that he had gone on vacation once with the family dog on the roof of the car.
The two specials in between seasons 2 and 3 were important in the arc of the show! We got to meet the characters from the opposition party!
You also get "Well, _fuck_ Tinky Winky!"

Chronologically the two specials "Rise of the Nutters" and "Spinners and Losers" occur between Seasons 2 and 3.
I'm sure you'll be able to follow and enjoy season 3 without them, but I would still recommend you watch the specials.
The specials are probably my favourite episodes (outside of the radio show one)

Season 3 in my opinion is the best out of all the seasons of this show

This is where everything started to click for me, in part because Rebecca Front is just as assertive an actor as the rest of them. With Season 4, though, and the specials, you get some of the show's very best characters.

You need to watch 'Rise of the Nutters' and 'Spinners and Losers' because they are important episodes that bridge seasons 2 and 3.
The Malcolm Tucker character is a nearly 'Post-Apocolyptic' alleged version of Alastair Campbell....(I have met Mr. Campbell in real life and he is bloody great!) However, the comedy is awesome!!

The difference isi. The uK there are public funded schools that the govt run and private schools for the rich…usually conservatives… and it looks bad when a govt that is labour..left..will tell you the public schools are great but send their kids for a private education…
And don't forget Red Dwarf seasons 1 to 6 are peerless
Malcolm seems more obnoxious than funny in this one. You missed some specials, Josh, but I think I forgot to watch them, too. I think the series misses Chris Langham here, but the real-life reason why he was fired definitely wasn't cold-blooded.
Buddy Hugh isn’t coming back, the actor was fired because he got arrested for indecent images of kids on his computer!
Rebecca Front is actually claustrophobic, they wrote her condition into the scene. I assume with her permission otherwise a pretty cruel thing to do.

As soon as I saw this I binged the show. Peter makes me appreciate how refreshing it is for people to just give it to ya straight...though I wouldn't say half the stuff he does.
