Tug of war DOESN'T make your dog play aggressively!!! It's actually a really good way to bond with your dog through play. It's also helpful to work on a "drop" command with it to work on obedience
ok this is good to know! i was wondering this, but sometimes we will play and then my pup will kind of start to bite me and start to get a little aggressive, what do you suggest i do?
This is not true for all dogs!! Certain breeds cannot do tug of war without encouraging aggression
I don’t have a puppy but I still watch all of your videos no matter what
I just got a puppy before quarantine started and my vet as well as two of our dog trainers all recommend tug of war! Different vets and trainers all feel differently about it, we have a golden doodle puppy and have had two golden retrievers in the past and as i'm sure you know they're the sweetest dogs and golden's aren't normally aggressive!
I have sport dogs, we love to use a game of tug as a reward! It can be a really fulfilling game if dogs are taught that bringing the toy back to you starts the game again, instead of it being a case of them feeling you've stolen it. It doesn't increase aggression whatsoever, no scientific evidence to back it up.
Yes! If you play tug APPROPRIATELY (and not in a way that can hurt them meaning no quick up and down motions that could hurt their necks) they shouldn’t become aggressive from it.

I don't have a puppy but I love watching puppy videos and I find it interesting that there are so many cool accessories available for them....which is helpful if you want to get sm. a gift for their puppy! But I love yr videos anyway ....so either way it's fun to watch!!
Im also a new dog mom and nail clipping was the thing I was the most scared of! I got a nail grinder off amazon (the casifor brand) and its AMAZING, a complete game changer couldnt recommend it enough- way less scary for both you and your pup

@@samanthacsuarez this one is soooo quiet and if you do the slow desensitization it works! I adopted a pup that is so scared of everything and even she has learned to tolerate it
I have done many dog rescues and adoptions and also a Certified Professional Pet Groomer. When cutting the nails it is so important NOT to cut the quick because if you cut to far up it could really bleed alot. Also, if you use a nail grinder Do Not keep it on the nail long because it gets very hot. Stop and wait a few seconds. Another tip, When it is extremely hot outside do not let your fur baby stay on black top for a long period of time because it is very hot on their pads. I saw a person at a light with her dog and her dog was very stressed walking back and forth lifting the paws up and down due to the extreme hot concrete. I went back to tell her in a nice way and he was so thankful. She never knew that. She thought the dog might of had to go to the bathroom. As soon as she put him on grass it's stopped immediately. It is very hot on their pads. Enjoy your fur babies. They are a lifetime commitment... ♡♡♡

For puppy nails, you can use normal human nail clippers. We used it on my 10 week old puppy the other day and she was fine! It’s a little bit easier than the dog clippers. We use the normal dog clippers on my older dog and they work great.

Girl, get yourself the Lululemon Everywhere belt bag :P I train my dogs for sports, just for fun and competition, and it's so handy to hold treats, training collars, poop bags, toys, my phone, etc. Definitely recommend it! And bahahaha the bags will still fit his poop, trust me.
Playing tug is a great bonding activity. You can be the one to initiate and then tell him all done when you are finished. One caveat is to be careful when tugging, I was at the emergency vet with my dog when someone came in with their golden. They were playing tug and the dog dislocated his jaw. My vet recommended keeping the toy low to the ground when playing tug instead of pulling up towards you and instead of vigorously tugging just offer resistance back and let him do the actual tugging.

Most goldens love pumpkin!! A treat idea for summer is pumpkin ice cubes! Get a can of pumpkin and put it in a silicone ice cube tray and freeze them!! It’s the perfect summertime snack/cools them down!
Tug of war is actually really good to play with your dog! It’s good for bonding
The foggy dog or wild one have nice poop bag holders.
Tug of war is not bad for your dog! I totally recommend it because you can use it for training too by teaching him to let go and stuff. dogs love to play tug and will not lead to aggressive behavior

Girl idk if youd want a new one but Kong makes a poop bag holder that also has a hand sanitizer pod at the end of it and it's so nice.
For trimming nails start by trimming off just a little bit until you get comfortable doing it and then you’ll know how far to go once you get use to it. Also cornstarch is really helpful if you do cut too short because it helps the blood clot really quickly.
Tug of war is fine as long as you teach him “drop” or “stop” so he knows play time is over

You can buy clotting powder for when you cut his nails and he bleeds. It’s such a money saver Instead of paying to get his nails cut all the time.
How often you wash them depends on the breed! I have dobermans and because they are a short coat dog people go months without bathing them because they don’t need it, but I’m sure goldens would be a little more frequent 😂 I would also recommend a dremmel!! I got mine of amazon and it’s so easy and my dogs don’t mind it too much!

Buying the doggy poop bags in bulk was such a smart idea.
I would recommend the "Andis Pet Tool" in the large size, as well as the "Andis 7.5 Inch Steel Comb" for grooming! It was recommended to me by my breeder, and you can buy them on Amazon! :)

I heard about the tug of war thing , but we just made sure to interrupt play and make her drop it and sit and kind of calm down and then start again!
i do puppy's 1 a week then after a year 1-3 times a month as needed not more then once a week though

so we are trying to potty train my golden pup she is 3 months old, i’ll take her out she will go right away and she will fully finish and then about 15 minutes later she will need to go again in the house. my concern is that she is peeing to much, i am very consistent with taking her out, almost more than once and hour but she still goes sometimes. she goes like 20 times a day.
I have a 3 month golden too and we had the same problem. Try to pick up their water during the day because they'll drink it all when they don't need to. We give it to her after naps, meals, and going outside. And take them out after they wake up from a nap or eat, and then take them out AGAIN 30 mins later. Sometimes puppies can get distracted outside and have trouble relieving their bladders fully. After that, try waiting at least 1-2 hours before taking them out again so they can practice holding it. Keep to your routine so they gain trust in you to take them out :) hope this helps.

Be careful with Greenies! They’re super popular but I know so many dogs including my own dog who have gotten it lodged in their system and had to be brought to the emergency vet due to Greenies.
Bayley, In my opinion I never ever give my dogs those flat chews that they sell. With big dogs they chew them and they get really soft and can get logged in their throat because they are really flat. I never give those to my fur babies. It's an accident waiting to happen. I agree what you said. Take care.

i think play when you want but don't pull super hard and also you should not make any growling or tuging nosies then it gets them ralled up and then they will learn that they are allowed to be aggressive with no consiquience so if they are aggresssive at a point then always confron him and don't give him attimntion when it happens so he will learn that if he dose it he dosen't get what he wants
Girl get Bac-Out!! You can use it to wash your clothes, dog beds, floors, carpets!! It’s the best!! My pup had a poop disaster on her bed & Bac Out left it smelling like citrus!! No strains
Edit: also the rug toys are okay and help bond you and your pup. As for the aggressiveness, just don’t be flinging him around the house lol
