Reminds me of the real life A-10 vs F-16 dogfight. A slow plane with big control surfaces at low altitude is hard to one-circle. If the other pilot was smart he'd easily avoid that fight and kill you though. Edit: ok third round he figured it out.

Guns only engagement against a second or third gen is suicide for most lifting body aircrafts (an aircraft that gets a considerable portion of its max lift by its body). Such as the F35 , Super hornet and others I care not to mention. Edit:- They need the speed, or they'll be incredibly sluggish and unwieldy. But speed will be their undoing should the enemy have a little luck on their side.
