I bet it is close. The yellow cake has more "vanilla " flavor and sort of crumb-like richness, probably even after being food processed. Sort of a different taste & texture from plain chocolate (even different from melted chocolate) but very close, I think.

The Christmas Trees are def my fav Lil Debbies cakes. Every year at Xmas we stock up on the cakes & have some in my pantry rn. 🎄 The green sugar crystals on top add just the amount of crunch to make them better than their other cakes.

Little Debbie's are such a guilty pleasure for me. I never had them until I was an adult and my mom started buying them as treats for her foster kids and my kids from the discount grocery down the street. I live in that same house now and every Christmas I indulge in a box. Now I have grandchildren of my own and enjoy sharing the cute cakes with them.

Back in 1985 my dad's step mother tried to tell my mom she made the Christmas tree cakes herself 😆 Mom asked her how she got the icing so thin and perfect.... She said you gotta warm it up in the microwave first to make it warm and runny.... Mmmhmm, sure grandma 😆 RIP
