What your father meant was "No talking when music is playing". Interruptions affect MANY great works like this.
If it's pop music or rap or disco or big band, go ahead and yap. But if it's the kind of music that sends chills up your spine or makes you feel things, then SHADDUP! Do not disturb! Do NOT break the mood.

The way Jimmy fools you into thinking you're listening to his lead, and then suddenly he layers a whole new lead right on top of the previous one. And if you're listening, you'll hear JPJ bringing the fill with that base line. It just adds so much depth. Finally, Bonzo is playing in another plane and you don't even realize he's all on his own.

I am 60, but am in IT, so most of my co-workers are in their 20's and 30's. Most of them are also big Zeppelin fans. More than any other old rock band, they really gravitate to Zeppelin, and this is strictly by choice.; I was never solicited for this, although they have quizzed me about Zeppelin, The Doors, and a few others. Young people like to discover something on their own, not be "sold" or "marketed to". That just tells you the power of this group.

My kids used to mock my music as they were growing up in the 90's and 2000's. One late summer evening I was relaxing in the backyard by the pool. The sun had set and the evening was cool and pleasant. They came outside (they were late teens by then) as I was sipping a margarita and "Kashmir" started playing. They sat their vibing along with me so I kept playing Zepplin. This song was next and then "The Rain Song" and more. They became fans.

He and the girl were from the same town (nest) and they carry that place and experiences within themselves. It’s a part of who they are

When Led Zeppelin was born, their music’s primary purpose was to grab the entire world’s attention and as many fans as possible. When Led Zeppelin grew into its maturity, the purpose of its music was to transcend this world and move into a different musical universe where only the remnant and true fans could follow. This song is one of the otherworldly.

Then as it was, then again it will be
And though the course may change sometimes
      Rivers always reach the sea
Blind stars of fortune, each have several rays
On the wings of maybe, down in birds of prey
Kind of makes me feel sometimes, didn't have to grow
But as the eagle leaves the nest, it's got so far to go
Changes fill my time, baby, that's alright with me
In the midst I think of you, and how it used to be
Did you ever really need somebody
      And really need 'em bad
Did you ever really want somebody
The best love you ever had
Do you ever remember me, baby
      Did it feel so good
'Cause it was just the first time
      And you knew you would
Through the eyes an' I sparkle
      Senses growing keen
Taste your love along the way
      See your feathers preen
Kind of makes makes me feel sometimes
      Didn't have to grow
We are eagles of one nest
The nest is in our soul
Vixen in my dreams, with great surprise to me
Never thought I'd see your face
The way it used to be
      Oh darlin', oh darlin'
      I'm never gonna leave you
      I never gonna leave
      Holdin' on, ten years gone
Ten years gone, holdin' on, ten years gone

Robert wrote this song about an ex girlfriend that made him choose between her or his future career. At the time he was a teenager so it was young love as he was only around 26/27 when he wrote this.
Another great vibe song is The Rain Song. I love the live MSG version partnered with The Song Remains The Same; the transition is really wonderful. This is from the movie The Song Remains The Same, which incorporates a fantasy cut of Robert as a medieval warrior. Each member had their own fantasy cut within the movie.

The amazing thing about this song is the restraint that John Bonham displays. He corrals the feeling of the song by letting Page’s guitar work and Plant’s lyrical emotion hypnotize the listener…Pure Mastery of the drum kit.

You should hear this turned up loud in a 10 x 50 trailer with people dancing & singing! Our poor neighbors 😢! They were our #1 band while I was growing up & into my twenties and going forward into my adult life, and my 2 children were raised listening to them! No other band like the talent of Led Zeppelin!!

The wide variety of songs, the killer engineering and production, plus it being a double album makes it a cornucopia of treasures for the audiophile

You're not drinking the right Bourbon. A good bourbon whiskey is a smoky journey evoking memories of the breeze flowing through the oak trees, the soft murmerings of folk in the background while a creek nearby bubbles over the rocks, occasionally dislodging a pebble to clink against another.

I consider Zeppelin to the be the greatest rock band of all time. I consider Jimmy Page to be among the greatest rock guitarists of all time and if I were to submit my case for him to be considered among the best [in no particular order, Hendrix, Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Page], I would submit this song and his epic work here - it is utterly transcendent....upon what may be my thousandth listen, I still have no words....

One of Zep's greatest songs. Amber is right when she says that in this case they just take their time and let it all just sink in. What I love about this track is how Bonzo and JPJ lay down this amazing groove and it swings so hard. Then Page layers all these fantastic guitar textures with some fantastic chord choices. It's such a pleasure to listen to.

Just to let u guys know, this song was originally was met to be a Instrumental, but lead vocalist Robert Plant came-up with lyrics from when he was in this relationship with a woman which she gave him an Ultimatum. It’s her, or his Career as a musician. Of course he choose the music and Ten Years after the brake-up they saw each other again.
The way he phrases things in this song is total Poetry, so you should download the lyrics and for sure you’ll see it.
There are so many elements that makes all parts of this song amazing from each member. A Classic.

The lyrics to the song was about an ex-girlfriend of Robert, who broke up with him after she gave him an ultimatum: "it's either me, or the music career", he chose the music career. It was a lament about that.
