You'll Never Walk Alone is a very well known song in Europe. When thousands of people sing it in a stadium, it's hard not to tear up. Now, people are playing it frequently and singing it to healthcare workers from their balconies. Unbelieveable how one song can be so powerful.
It might be a very well known song around the European football stadium, but it comes from the magnificent American Musical, Carousel. Written by Rogers and Hammerstein. The first singer to record it was Frank Sinatra back in 1945. Subsequently Ray Charles, Nina Simone, and at least ten more different artists had recorded it. The English like to think, that the song is “theirs,” because it is played at the Liverpool football matches.
@@millyherzog4640 That's true, but YNWA didn't become that famous in the mainstream until Gerry and the Pacemakers decided to cover it. If Liverpool fans didn't start to sing this song, it wouldn't have been a significant anthem because the song would be lost in history for most people. That said, the Carousel original is still one of my favourite versions of the song, and I'm very glad that many singers recognised the meaning and power of the song early on.

My mother loved this song. My best friend sang it at her funeral 32 years ago. Hearing this here reduced me to a pile of mush as my friend passed away 18 months ago. Beautiful arrangement.
After the song was rolling around my head, I had to watch it again and I realized that this was a very all-embracing religious experience, to strengthen my emunah-faith in the Almighty. And that I should have this experience every day to remind me of this fundamental principle of the Judaic-Christian Heritage. Amen!
This outstanding and passionate song is a testimony of our faith and against the evil one who wants to isolate us. This most hopeful song has brought a tear to my eyes as I rejoice in the presence of Almighty God, Jesus the Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit. Alleluia!
Tears for all memories and love that this song gave to all the people who already wrote the best feelings that this perfect performance gave to us. Bless you all.
Instantly brought tears to my eyes. Wish our chorus could do something like this. Just found out that one of our tenors (also a pianist) is performing this for our university's graduation ceremony, virtually, I imagine.
God testified to me this truth when I had a severe breakdown and got a mental illness. I was overwhelmed with the spirit of God at those moments. He is with us when we can’t even tell, too, and when we can. He will test our faith, to make it stronger. He wants us to study and pray, and prepare for the tests of life which inevitably come. They are a a part of God’s plan, and they let us know where we are strong, or when we need to work a little more on something, We have a Savior to catch us if we feel like we fall. We only need to put our full trust in him, and if we do, we cannot fall....not possible with the Savior as our foundation.
Katherine, first of all I hope you are well. Those were beautiful words you shared with us. In our particularly troubled times right now in the world we need to begin to love one another, it is a prerequisite for the world to become a better place to live for everyone. Music touches our hearts with a universal love. We become one when we listen to beautiful music and it can inspire us to become kinder, more caring and loving than ever before in our lives. I believe with all my heart God has decided we need a little push to get ourselves out of the mess we are in. Amongst us are living 'angels', young people who have voices which are out-of-this-world and listening to them sing brings tears to our eyes because of the soulfulness within them. They are humble, kind, caring and loving human beings and their confidence is astonishing when they sing FOR US. Yes, they sing to us but they are also singing for us. When you learn more about the three of them (and perhaps more of them exist) you will immediately recognize their soulfulness is genuine. I earlier mentioned their confidence. I believe the three of them know why they are here and the gift they have been given. They continue to work very hard controlling their voices as they mature and the soulfulness remains and transitions into the purest form of love and enters our hearts and once there, it will never leave. Some people may take a liking to all three of them, some may only favor one. But they are all Messengers of Love and, to me, it is undeniable to believe they are just great singers. There is much more to it than that. Their influence changes people when their love touches their hearts. I love all three of them and this is their names and I wish you would listen to them. Their voices bring you happiness, hope and love. Angelina Jordan; Dimash; and Emma Kok. Katherine, personally speaking, Angelina has changed my life and there are millions of people around the world who feel the way I do. I know I can speak for all of them and say that everyday of our lives we listen to her sing for us and we think about her, as well. Two of them are teenagers and one is in the 20's. They speak openly about their feelings of love and their deeds express those feelings. They are inspiring. all of us to be the best we can be. It's amazing. It's extraordinary. It's beautiful. It's God's gift to us to help us begin to love one another and he chose young singers to deliver his message.

For me this song is the most exact song for this time specially for those people who lost loved one's, friends, neighbors and even people who we even don't know who become victim's and perished because of this pandemic covid 19. May GOD almighty give peace to all of us no matter how strong the storm that always batter us in our lives. Just keep our head up high no matter how painful it is. And at the end of the storm is a golden sky.

This is so beautiful, I'm in tears. This is how the world should be. Altogether as one 🙏😢
Alleluia!
Thank you to all the people who came together and performed this beautiful song.
Using this song at our baccalaureate mass for our eighth graders!
Never gets old .
Thank you for sharing such an inspiring piece of music. It is timely indeed to inspire more and more people throughout the world. God bless us all!
Amen
A great version of a lovely song. I have always found it difficult to sing this with our chorus as it always makes me emotional. Especially now as, after 60 years together, my sweet wife is now in a care home, and I AM alone. Frankly it sucks bigtime my
I loved this!!! It gave me chills and the fact everyone was performing from home from so many different countries made it that more special. Thank you for doing this and sharing it!!
Yes. Music is the universal language. ❤️
There's a soccer team in the UK which adopted this song as its anthem: Liverpool FC. Really. Greetings from Lima, Peru.
Also Celtic in Scotland.
Wow! I sang it solo at my High School Baccaloreate in 1956. It made me cry this time. Thank You.
I am in tears..one of the most moving experiences..
Sung its self for many times in a Dutch choir.
In this Corona time we stay together.
You never walk alone.
Keep up we are not alone.
There is an overwhelming sense of love that emanates from this performance. A love of life, a love of music, and a love of humanity. This is the ultimate expression of peace and joy. Thanks to Richard Rodgers for a song that always brings tears to millions of softies just like me.
Oscahammerstein II wrote the lyrics

At my graduation from Buffalo PS #68 in June, 1955 our class sang this song....
I’ve watched it several times and the tears won’t stop. I want to thank each and everyone of you for sharing your talents. Absolutely beautiful 😭
Same here. I can’t stop playing this...and, I can’t stop the tears... So beautiful..❤️❤️❤️
Splendide, magnifique. Chaque fois que je regarde de clip, je pleurs, idem avec le film de 1956. Un pur moment de bonheur.

Because of this beautiful presentation, this is now one of the finest top ten songs I've ever heard - astonishing and most uplifting! Beautiful voices and skilled musicians - wonderbar!
This gives me hope for the human race. Kudos to all.
Very moving! I wonder if it's a little glimpse of what music in heaven will be like.
What a transporting experience. Amazing how a song written during World War II could be just as encouraging to a later generation facing its own dark time of trouble. Ah, the power of great music.
From what I recall, this song is from the musical "The Sound of Music", not Carousel. It's what the Mother Superior sang to Maria after she had returned to the Abby, to encourage her on. This is simply amazing, especially to have so many people involved. Thank you all!
Your recollection lets you down. This song is most definitely from Carousel. I think you make be remembering Climb Every Mountain?
All one of you have I to say: Congratulation. You are absolutely wonderfull.
This has to be the best thing on RUclips, bar none. Stressed out? Not after you listen to THIS.
Well done! What a beautiful recording. So thankful to be part of this project.
Did this show at Muny Opera when I was ten years old. Claramae Turner sang this with the chorus. I have never heard anything come close to it’s beauty until now. WOW
What an honor that must have been for you!
1M Hits, and Only 20K Likes? C'mon People, This is PHENOMENAL!!

My amazing dad who has now long passed, sang this as a solo performance with his beautiful baritone voice.
Brings back wonderful memories with lots of emotions. I miss him so very much!

Playing over & over. What a gift. Not only for dealinf with Covid but dealing with my beloved husbands recent death. 49 years of love
This actually brought a few tears to my eyes because my big sister would’ve loved this. She used to be in the Arkansas Chamber Singers until her unexpected death three years ago. I can actually see her wanting to be a part of this.
You just gave millions of people around the world the gift of Hope, Harrison. Not only Hope for the Corona Virus Pandemic, but also for George Floyd's death and the following riots. Thank you, Harrison and all those involved in this video, from all of us for your time and effort. Blessings

I so enjoyed this version of "You'll Never Walk Alone"! During these isolating times, we need to hear that we are not alone. Thank you!
This is beyond unbelievably excellent. I can only imagine the work that had to be done to make this happen.
It brought me to tears of joy. Thanks so much for making this happen.
How much better can a performance get? This is a wonderful piece of work with a genuine and full emotional impact. Superb. Thank you.
My heart was uplifted to see 300 people from 15 countries harmonizing together on a wonderful rendition of the song "Carousel" by Rodgers and Hammerstein. It brought me to tears. It's a reminder to me that we are human and need each other regardless of our religious, political, or philosophical beliefs. What we need is empathy, compassion, tolerance, mercy and, most of all, love. Grace and blessings to all, especially during these dark "covid-19" days. Many thanks for posting this video.
Très beau et très touchant. Merci
To simply say beautiful is not enough! A very touching and emotional event for my day. Thank you
A wonderful song, and fantastic technology recording, amazing world wide, different time zones! Beautiful!
