Literally saw this video and just had to try it for myself! He is right the engine is just pure torque. Being in the center of the cab was definitely a different experience but once you get used to it it's not so bad. Don't give the tesla any hate it can haul and diesel and gas aren't going to last forever! Love this mod!
They've been saying things like diesel and gas won't "last forever" or will "run out" for the past 60+ years. It ain't happening anytime soon. My dad read an article in 1975 stating that gasoline will be all but gone by the year 1980. It's complete BS.
Being in the industry, I could care less what hits the roads. I’ll adapt to be successful. If I’m still trucking when we could get these things pulling over-the-road/long haul, I’d have no issue purchasing one. Seeing as fuel is my number one expense, why wouldn’t anyone. Thanks for the entertainment, good video.
Thank you for showing it again. I'm still sick of people moaning about it. This isn't the worst truck ever and a great hope for the future that will be a world of electric vehicles.
MALIK Newton You know, it reminds me of the new Siemens SC-44 Charger locomotive. It gets a lot of hate, but it's more energy efficient and better for the environment than current passenger diesel locomotives in use on the railroads.
Why would it ruin trucking? It really isn't going to ruin anything.. Every time there is any kind of change at all, certain groups of people jump up and down and say "this will ruin " and you know what? it never does.
JJ2078 they mean the tradition of trucking with the massive engines, trucks, and loud engines which I agree with. The future is making humans look like little weasels imo
I agree with your statement here, the truck itself wont ruin the job, but diesel run trucks are tried and true, while electric for cars it a good concept, tractor trailers not so much. Some people think of that, while others think its going to ruin the classics like Mack, Pete, Kenworth, ect, as in put them out of business. Just my take on it.
FlamerDamn yeah and I mean the motors and all the equipment will take a beating especially if they did heavy hauling that's why semi's have diesel engines their durable I mean they can rack up a million miles I doubt you'd get that out of an original electric motor
Razorbaz01 yes! And considering they dont use tried and true materials such as steel, ect, its going to degrade faster. More repairs, less profit for the company and driver. The charge will cost more then diesel too.
FlamerDamn exactly people aren't thinking about longevity just economy and the emissions I do agree we need to find some solution for the emissions but completely taking gas and diesel engines out of existence will create more problems then it'll fix
I really loved this truck and Tesla in general, I think it's going to be my daily driver. The largest load I've done was a double trailer, about 110,000 lb and that was a fun one!
The trailers in ATS are longer than the British plus he had another smaller trailer hanging off the rear of main trailer, so the extra wide turn is needed.
What's with people being so mean in the comments? Jeff puts a lot of effort and time into his videos. And people saying the Tesla Semi is bad- it's not even out yet. How do we know if it's good or bad? It could be the best semi truck or the worst. We don't know yet. Quit being so rude to a guy who is putting out a video for your enjoyment, it's just a video game.
The Tesla truck (not the Cybertruck) will at first most likely be used for shore haul because it can’t charge at the normal super chargers because none of the other Tesla could get charge and it would almost be impossible to park with a trailer (At least the first models because of the battery technology)
Having been a truck driver for several years I can tell you that sitting in the middle of the cab does not negate the blindspots when backing up. In fact, it'd make it more difficult I'd imagine. A semi truck cab is roughly 8 feet wide. Sitting in the middle means a ~3ft lean or so to see where your trailer is going accurately vs sitting on one side and head out the window to track its movements precisely. Also, you are taking your turns WAAAAY too wide lol the trailer is long but it has 3 articulating joints so it will follow a path somewhat similarly to how a standard 53 foot box would. Anyway, I don't care much for the truck myself as I just can't stand how it looks and running out of fuel seems a lot better than running out of electrical charge. Not that I have ever run out myself, but I imagine that it'd be a lot easier to get some diesel than it would be to get the battery charged :P But hey man love the vids all the same!
If ur in the middle with no blind spot you also can't look out the window or anything while backing, which I do all the time. Also Everytime you approach a gate and have to use one of those call buttons you have to get out of ur seat
Lol i cant watch video due to over 1.6k likes 104 dislikes and 900+ negative comments. OMG some ppl love to complain about something they are scared to try before complaining cause of a review. If you dont want to see the video, just pass it on by. Plain and simple folks!!
I agree with Erik. This is definitely not the best thing that has happened to the industry. If we could get hybrids in the industry, that would be pretty good.
As a trucker, I'll tell you my issues with the Tesla truck. I think the technology is still too new for long haul. I think it will be great for local work though. Reason being, is long haul trucking does not have the infrastructure to support these trucks. I need to be able to go to North Dakota in below zero temperatures with out the worrying about the batteries getting weak, and loosing charge because of the cold. Charging the truck, for every truck stop that has diesel island they would all need to be converted to electric charging stations. because after North Dakota, I need to haul to North Carolina. Charging has to be quick, its bad enough drivers spend a hour or more in the truck stop while they are parked at the fuel islands, come back taking their sweet ass time, then refuel, or not at all. So it really needs a infrastructure that can support these trucks. Local truckers can just charge it at a terminal for the next driver in a slip seat situation. I can't. I live in the truck and I need to be able to take my 10hr required break without running out of power during the break. sometimes I have to take it in the middle of the day and drive all night. So if im in Phoenix AZ in the middle of summer, I'll be running that AC the whole 10hrs. heat stroke is a worry. Local jobs sure, but long haul, they need to work out the bugs first. I see it become a safety issue and has yet to become practical. I think infrastructure will be the Tesla's biggest obstacle.
@@Jmodderator The original commenter made very good points, especially with the point of losing charge. The Tesla Semi uses lithium ion batteries, which in any temperature extreme (hot or cold) causes the battery pack to lose charge. The commenter also made a good point about the charging infrastructure. Don't get me wrong, Tesla has quite possibly, THE best charging network to date, but even it needs a massive overhaul. Time spent at a charging station or even at a petrol station is time spent on a contract.
I'm actually quite glad the original commenter mentioned the AC situation. That does take a hit to efficiency, as it uses electricity to power. I do believe Jeff was correct when he said Tesla used waker-uppers as kinetic energy to power appliances like the AC, though I'm not completely sure.
I love digging through the archives and rewatching these awesome videos. Flight sims, truck sims, rp servers etc.. you've been my favorite 'go to' gaming entertainer for years, without question.
It's not because they're electric that they are going to ruin trucking. It's because they are designed to run on their own in the future. So the truck driver can kiss his job goodbye.
As for now, truck drivers are still safe for around 15 yrs, yes tesla\s will be allowed to drive themselves with level 4 and 5 self driving. But companies wont trust a truck to drive their supplies alone before its been properly tested on the model S, X, 3, Y, Cybertruck ETC. But, the job market is constantly changing, imagine how it was when cars replaced horses and how many lost their jobs then, that was a good change. Moving over to EV`s and self driving, market will need MANY MANY more coders and electro engineers, something many young people is already into doing in their spare time.
The Gaming Norwegian When cars were invented there were many more jobs produced than there were lost. Manufacturing skyrocketed, as well as fuel, fuel stations, and the ability to live further from a place of work. Also cant forget every single retail business of any kind can hire more and sell more product as people can access them easily. Using automated electric trucks have no positive side effect on the job market. And, ironically, allow the wealthier to become wealthier without giving anything to the working class. The irony is that the a majority of the people rooting for electric vehicles and auto driving are against the “toxic capitalist empire.”
Electric cars have a system that recharges the battery then slowing down. It's called regenerative braking and rather than using the actual brakes, it uses the motors to slow down. Most electric cars have a system where if you take your foot off the accelerator it automatically starts to slow down so you also save your brakes from wear while also adding a little but of charge.
It's all good. Just giving you a bit of info. If you are interested in the electric vehicle stuff, there is a channel called "fullycharged" and they look at all kinds of electric cars from concepts, full production and even homemade stuff.
What the hell is up with your turns? You barely need to cross the centre line to get that trailer out of intersections. You had a lot of clearance at that gate.
Pros of Tesla - 1. cheaper in the long run, 2. Safer then a typical tractor, 3. Comfortable, 4. Will not replace truckers because you will always need a driver even if its self driving. Plus mechanics that need to work on teslas will get a pay bump because they will have to understand a bit of engineering. The truck is by far the most amazing thing to come out of automotive this century.
I am understand people's concerns but I think it's awesome! Yeah I don't want to see "self driving" trucks (although let's face it is going to happen, that's just the way the world is going) but with the crazy amount of pollution and the state of the earth innovation like this is an amazing thing! Much love from Scotland brother ✌️
Missouri's new highway signs say things like "your mom called, she says slow down", and "your mom just saw you, buckle up", I dunno man I think its just weird
Jeff, first of all, I actually don't mind the truck itself, it's the autopilot that I don't like. I think people are saying that this truck will "ruin the industry" because if it has autopilot like other Tesla's, it will put millions of drivers out of work. Companies would have no need for hiring drivers if the trucks drove themselves. I agree with them, you can't just get rid of drivers because millions of Americans would then have no job, and no skills to apply elsewhere. Also, truck driving is a lifestyle, and telling someone "just get a different job, stop complaining" isn't valid because they have no skills that other industries could use, unless you're willing to train all former truck drivers for a new career. It's a logistical issue that can't just be resolved overnight. At best, it will take decades to take full affect. Also, with autopilot, there are so many faults and crashes seem to happen all the time, I don't think autopilot is the future. There are currently 4 NTSB investigations into Tesla's recent crashes. One NTSB investigation almost ruined Captain Sully's career, imagine what it will do to Tesla, especially if it kills people in the accident. I don't mind electric vehicles, that's not the problem, the problem is autopilot. It's too buggy and it will take away countless millions of jobs if fully implemented. Please up-vote this so Jeff can see it. If you can prove me wrong with hard facts and evidence, please go ahead, as I am open-minded. But don't just say "stop being a crybaby" because I'm not, I'm just bringing up a valid point that needs to be proven wrong in order to convince me. The electric aspect of Tesla, which I like, is fine. I want to help the atmosphere rebuild by reducing CO2. Electric vehicles, however, have many problems, the source of batteries being African mines that use child labor is one of them. If anything, battery mining is more damaging to the environment than regular vehicles are.
That's going to happen with or without tesla. People need to adapt. Are people still crying over people that lost their jobs at video rental stores? or record shops?
+MrFelixify No, people aren't because those industries didn't employ 3% of America's population. At best, they only employed .2 - .5% of the population. You say "people need to adapt", but changing careers isn't as easy as, "Okay, today I'll change from being a truck driver for the last 40 years to being a cook or an engineer." Explain your logic as to how to get 3.5 million people to "adapt" to a new career. It takes months, if not years, of training or college, which costs a ridiculous amount of money nowadays, not to mention how it would absolutely flood the job market with unemployed, aging people, which no one would want to hire. Do you seriously think a restaurant or office would want to hire a 60+ year old trucker with a bad back? If they all decided to retire at once and go on Social Sec., it would ruin the economy. Not to mention truck driving is the best paying non-college career available today, getting rid of that industry would absolutely destroy this country and the economy.
ross clayton actually, having autonomous trucks and vehicles would bolster the economy. Think about it this way: if all vehicles can communicate with each other, we would eliminate congestion. There would no longer be a need for traffic lights. Imagine how much more product can move so much quicker. Logistics would be revolutionized. Now, this would be destructive for the human aspect short term, but once a few generations pass, we’ll have a new dawn of specialization. Those 3.2 million people who would’ve otherwise spent their lives behind a wheel can now work as doctors, engineers, etc. I’m aware that that sounds like some George Orwell shit, but we need to favor automation in the interest of furthering our species as a whole. Why have humans perform mediocre tasks that can be performed by a machine that can perform it better than any other human ever can. This will free up humans as a resource that we can devote to things that will (hopefully) further our advancement as a whole. At least that’s what I’m trying to say anyway. Now this is all not to say that I don’t have respect for what truckers do for us, I absolutely do, but we’re talking about automation here so...
Peter Laing yes, I see your point. I think that it will take a few generations. Thanks for being civil about it and presenting it that way. I agree with your reasoning. As long as it goes the way you say, that will be fine with me. As a prospective trucker, I'm glad my generation will still enjoy the freedom of the open road as a career. Thanks again for your input.
ross clayton My point is. It's going to happen wherever you like it or not. People need to adapt and stop being scared of technology and innovation. Also, i'm neither a trucker or an American so i really don't give a shit :)
Love the vids man! But as a former truck driver, you WAY overcompensate on your turns lol. With all those points of articulation you really don't need to swing too much wider than you would with a standard 53' trailer. If you were hauling something like a wind turbine blade THEN you'd wanna swing like you are.
and in the beginning of the video he said he'll compare the tesla to the other naturally aspirated trucks. no jeff, they're all turbodiesel. that's not NA
I hated the look of them when they first showed them but they are growing on me. I know it doesn't matter for testing but tesla said unloaded it'll do 0 to 60 in 5 seconds that's insane.
What graphics/weather mods you got? I noticed your lights are brighter with bloom. Also I would love to see a modding guide video because your ATS looks more realistic than the other RUclipsrs.
As a trucker, my only issue/concern is with the range. I think the range is something like 400 miles and it my experience, you hardly see any recharge stations for electric vehicles. I don’t recall seeing any in Los Angeles. Once electric charging becomes more wide spread OR another viable alternative to diesel, we can see less Diesel engines on the road. I think some older truck drivers refuse to take time out of their day to learn even DEF/DPF basic maintenance , they’re not going to learn until they’re out of the business or forced to learn.
I think this truck was planned to drive 1000 miles on full battery and on charging station you will be swapping your empty battery with other, fully charged from charging spot. You don't have to wait, just swap it and that's it. We will see in the future.
Works well but don't think I will be swapping it for my w900 with the cat c18 interceptor and can I just say you don't need to go so wide to get the trailer round the corner taking you way to much room 4:55
Not a fan of the Tesla, but this was a great video Jeff. A good example of the power of the mod in game with that profiler as a load! I LOVE doing the heavy hauling myself!!!
people hate it because they are used to their big ass dinosaurs, an electric engine can deliver instant torque and doesn't need a gearbox, that thing would be so useful here in Colombia where almost everything is a mountain and trucks normally clog up roads
Jared Nathan Hatchell about 80% of truck routes are 250 miles or less. That means you can literally complete your route in a Tesla and come back on one charge. At that point you just plug your truck in for about 30-45 minutes, charge it, and be on your way again. If you have a long route you are actually legally required to stop at some point and rest, during that time you can charge up. When these trucks start to hit highways, the supercharger network will be ample enough at trucks stops, I’m sure of it.
Diesel trucks feel more immersive. Electric vehicles just feel bland and dead, nothing to hear it just feels like you are just trying to get the job done.
True Gamer191x1 That’s the point of fleet trucks. They don’t give a shit how cool it looks or sounds. It’s about getting the job done quickly and efficiently while keeping the driver and cargo in one piece.
I think what Tesla is doing is great cars, the balls to develope vehicles without making profit is weird but they are making cool things. The problem is over hyping products, Tesla semi is the biggest one with their payload numbers and range, just be honest about it and let the market decide.
this is coming from a truck driver, the reason the tesla is shunned isn't because of change. Its because of the range, and time to recharge. if you accompany that with the laws of how many hours a trucker can drive, the driver will have to take a pay cut. that is the reason for the hate. truckers are paid by the mile, not by the hour. so when a truck isnt moving the driver is not making money.
So... what exactly is the problem? The truck is designed specifically around the trucking laws so as to be capable of driving the maximum amount of time a driver can legally drive in one go, and to charge up within the minimum length of time he has to rest. That means you do not suffer range anxiety or have to wait for the truck to charge and don't take a pay cut as a result.
Robert McGregor (long comment I'm sorry, I've just thought a lot about this subject myself and thanks to your comment I have a chance to express where I think Tesla's and other electric vehicles have a place in our world) I've been training in the 13 and 18 speeds to get my Class 1. So I don't have real, true trucking experience yet, but I do still completely agree with what you're saying. But at the same time, I feel like the Tesla's can be really useful for certain kinds of trips. Like short haul for example. Maybe for big cities that have a large amount of trucks that perform deliveries just around the city or for short distances. Tesla's would come in extremely handy in those situations. However, when it comes to long haul, real trucks are 100% the best option due to all of the things you have mentioned. I just like to have an open mind and think of ways the Tesla's could be used without eliminating the real trucks as well. Same goes for Tesla cars in my opinion. I refuse to ever give up owning a REAL car. I'm only 20 yet I drive a big boat of a Buick because I prefer being comfortable and it's incredible for road trips. But if I could also afford to own a Tesla car just to rip around town with and not have to use any gas when just running to the store or something, I'd totally get one. But only if I still had a real car for real trips. Still nothing will ever beat the satisfaction of turning the key to hear that gas or diesel powered engine roar to life. You'll never get that with a Tesla. I apologize for the long comment. I just see so many people thinking it's gotta be either gas/diesel, or electric with no in between. Where as I can totally see how owning both could be extremely beneficial. No need to eliminate internal combustion and replace with electric. Just keep both. When someone buys a Tesla. They are leaving more fuel for you. Which in theory, could reduce the amount of fuel used worldwide allowing internal combustion engines to live longer lives than if electric vehicles were never created. Giving us more time to both enjoy gas and diesel powered engines while we still can, while also letting companies work at perfecting the electric vehicle until one day there will no longer be any downsides of owning electric vehicles at all. The one thing I will NEVER EVER agree with though, is self driving vehicles.....
Fair points, but tesla is going to make anew network of chargers specifically designed for their semis which can charge them as quickly as 15 minutes I believe, and I think they were saying you might get about 500m on a single charge (not exactly sure)
Snail With a Shotgun Yeah but what if you’re driving over steep terrain or get stuck in traffic? In imperfect driving conditions you could get screwed over and run out of range before your hours run out.
Exactly, I like change and innovation that's why I love Tesla. + Elon is a great guy And I believe it'll be the same story like when steam engines were replaced by combustion engines... so we'll see.
The problem is that Tesla is on the side of Apple and John Deer as far as right to repair goes. That means your semi breaks down or has a problem, you have to take it to tesla. Tesla is booked out a week, looks like you're taking an unwanted vacation.
People need to realize that it's not going to ruin the trucking franchise is because you're going to save on gas on the long run and it could carry a lot more than a normal semi could
THE MASTER SHIFTER Ya but they can only go 500 miles on a charge last time I heard and that's a short run for a trucker. So with the charge time it will take longer for product to be moved
Joe Stone the truck will fully charge in 30 minutes, according to Tesla. It takes about 30 minutes to refuel a completely empty diesel tank. The 500 mi range is impressive for an electric platform. The fact that we were all surprised to see Tesla produce a car that has a 250 mile range in 2015 is a testament to how far along the technology is coming along. Who knows where we’ll be 5, 10, 20 years down the line.
Good luck with building your company. I'm a Level 150 with six garages, 30 drivers and trucks. Plus close to $800 million in the bank. Not bad for someone playing ATS for a little over a year. :-)
Loving these videos..... The only nit pick is with the recharging which google says... “According to Tesla, the battery will charge in 30 minutes with enough electricity to last 640 kilometers, and the truck will cost about $180,000.Apr 3, 2019” I honestly thought it would take longer than that...
If my cellphone is low it can't charge in 30 minutes. How is a semi full of batteries going to charge in even 12 hours? It would take a day or more to charge. Not like it matters though, there are 0 on the road.
@@swrrs I live there. In hindsight, box trucks would be okay (big ones). But vans? That's like going into a famous barbecue restaurant and asking for vegan options.
I think it great Tesla is doing something like this due to the fact that the price of diesel gas is going up and truck companies are pouring out more money to ship items at a higher rate due to the fact of gas so high this could improve the economy
Not a fan of the look but I would venture to guess if a trucker got to pilot one for a day or two pulling their normal load they would change their minds. I'd like to give one a test drive pulling 80k up and down some parts of I40 and see how it compared to the Pete 579 with the mx13 and auto 10.
Decided to go look up how these Tesla Semis are going since this video randomly popped up in my recommended. They've still not sold any, and they're being accused of exaggerating the trucks capabilities, most crucially it's range and recharge times. I'm still not convinced Electricity is the better option to replace Diesel, especially when it comes to long distance hauling. The limited range, plus the recharge times just don't make it viable for traveling long distances, even with the seemingly exaggerated figures Tesla were originally giving us it's 30+ minutes of downtime every

With cheaper fuel costs, driver's get paid more. I don't think you can remotely fathom how much fuel costs FUCK UP a companies bottom line. Over the first 100,000 miles, the Tesla will save between $50k to $85k in fuel bills. 200,000 miles, You can buy another truck off what you saved in fuel alone. As an aside, companies couldn't care less what we think. They care about profit. That's all. They don't deliver things cause it warms their hearts, they want money.... They want to wipe their ass with $10,000 Federal reserve notes. If you believe the board of directors actually cares about packages other than how it pertains to profit, you are living a lie. Fuel costs eat them alive, so for $150,000 I can buy a Tesla. For $120,000 I can buy a diesel in a Freightliner. as a real trucker, i can say the autonomous aspect is whats going to kill trucking as a job. plus the design is not very compatible with the current infrastructure of scales and truck stop parking. It seems like a good thing for efficient power, but the infrastructure changes and autonomy is whats going to kill the industry.
As with anything electric, it will have its uses. Companies like ups, fedex, or local deliveries will be prime for them but i guarantee long haul and heavy haul will not be seeing these trucks on a regular basis!
Maybe popular in the warmer states but up here in Canada probably won’t be as popular because in winter time it gets cold as fuck so bunk heaters ect need to be running at night ect they are gunna have a lot of problems with batteries. you can never completely get rid of the good ole diesel truck.

Vraj Pandya ; In what type of rig
MALIK Newton The Tesla Truck that Jeff is driving
Pssssttt... you took turns kinda sorta excessively wide
not really, I have done way too many runs with these trailers and you can never have enough room.
Where can i get this truck at?
PMC John safety can be fun XD
@@BubbaLawz Google it its what I did.
He's shilling and proclaiming these are the future. More than 3 years later... how many Tesla semis are on the road?
Why the hell are you turning so wide
If your not dumb he has a fucking trailer
Who TF thinks Tesla's are gonna ruin trucking? Lmao that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard
ohmbro OG people hate changes, simple as that
Ikr? I'm honestly looking forward to them. Faster acceleration and the center seating sounds extremely nice. Only problem right now is the range
The Tesla truck (not the Cybertruck) will at first most likely be used for shore haul because it can’t charge at the normal super chargers because none of the other Tesla could get charge and it would almost be impossible to park with a trailer
(At least the first models because of the battery technology)
Im pretty sure truck drivers dont make ridiculous turns like that while driving up sidewalks like its the road
It gets a lot of hate because they love the sound of the engine and especially jake brakes
0:48 the differences between electric and *turbo* engines
Those turns are cringeworthy
No kidding - he's taking them stupidly wide. Completely unnecessary.
If ur in the middle with no blind spot you also can't look out the window or anything while backing, which I do all the time. Also Everytime you approach a gate and have to use one of those call buttons you have to get out of ur seat
The only complaint I have is how wide Jeff swings his turns
I mean. It’s a oversized load so he has no choice. If he swings it to tight it’s a crash

Oversized loads are the worst with AI, but worth the money, especially with the Tesla Truck

you didnt have to make that turn so wide you had almost 4 meters of extra space on the side when you ended the turn
also stay in the right lane
That's probably the best argument I've ever read
So this is what it's like to have no idea how this works or what you're talking about....
interesting.
@@Jmodderator and you're a wannabe!
So the truck driver can kiss his job goodbye.
the drivers are going to lose their jobs not the company owners
As for now, truck drivers are still safe for around 15 yrs, yes tesla\s will be allowed to drive themselves with level 4 and 5 self driving. But companies wont trust a truck to drive their supplies alone before its been properly tested on the model S, X, 3, Y, Cybertruck ETC.
But, the job market is constantly changing, imagine how it was when cars replaced horses and how many lost their jobs then, that was a good change. Moving over to EV`s and self driving, market will need MANY MANY more coders and electro engineers, something many young people is already into doing in their spare time.
The Gaming Norwegian
When cars were invented there were many more jobs produced than there were lost.
I still don't know much about electric vehicles, need to learn!
It's all good. Just giving you a bit of info. If you are interested in the electric vehicle stuff, there is a channel called "fullycharged" and they look at all kinds of electric cars from concepts, full production and even homemade stuff.
very cool thanks dude
18:30 its either me, or its real, but in the rear r. view mirror i see what almost appears to be a tornado or a funnel cloud.
No it does not make it better for mechanics because
Cheaper in the long run *laughs* oh how non truck drivers talk about nonsense
I am understand people's concerns but I think it's awesome! Yeah I don't want to see "self driving" trucks (although let's face it is going to happen, that's just the way the world is going) but with the crazy amount of pollution and the state of the earth innovation like this is an amazing thing! Much love from Scotland brother ✌️
I think you really don’t need to turn that wide. Your just tripping Jeff
KGPHOTOGRAPHY _ it's how semi drivers do it in my city

Jeff, there are diesel trucks that run 700+ hp that easily get up to speed, especially the farm trucks that pull hoppers
and in the beginning of the video he said he'll compare the tesla to the other naturally aspirated trucks. no jeff, they're all turbodiesel. that's not NA
The view on this truck is like that you would get in a Train Simulator, probably better viewing angles than a car
Your turning is overkill - somebody paid to drive trucks. Those trailers are designed to be able to turn in spaces a regular 53 footer would.
Your overly wide turns just made me mad...
We will see in the future.
hey fk you
@@friedchicken3941 You don't have to be an ass
Works well but don't think I will be swapping it for my w900 with the cat c18 interceptor and can I just say you don't need to go so wide to get the trailer round the corner taking you way to much room 4:55
Not a fan of the Tesla, but this was a great video Jeff. A good example of the power of the mod in game with that profiler as a load! I LOVE doing the heavy hauling myself!!!
Love the Tesla truck, but I may be bias as I own a Tesla, it's simply one of the best driving experiences I've had.
Off brand Bay Buggs Area. Jk. Jeff’s videos are awesome
self driving trucks are what truckers should be worried about god damn
Yeah, maybe I'll worry when the self driving smart cars can negotiate construction zones or drive in the snow. I give it 10-15 years from that point.
I think I would hate driving the Tesla semi simply because of the lack of engine noises, I'd play semi sounds on the radio 😂 😂 😂
I myself am a fan of tesla.
That thing looks nice.
But it certainly has a different design to what some are used to
You need to take this truck and load up the unrealistic hill in the mod with every state, see how it handles that big thing
yo jeff keep up the good work bud
people hate it because they are used to their big ass dinosaurs, an electric engine can deliver instant torque and doesn't need a gearbox, that thing would be so useful here in Colombia where almost everything is a mountain and trucks normally clog up roads
TheUtgardian Channel trucks can go for 2000+ miles on a 15 min fuel island trip. This can’t do that.
I miss the Kenworths and the Peterbilts. Honestly I miss the diesels.

Tesla trucks cast no shadows??!!
Indded; because they dont exist.
I like this truck you should use it again soon this truck is so fast.😎😎😎 Keep it up Jeff
Fallen Angel, you basically described all my thoughts about it lol
Fair points, but tesla is going to make anew network of chargers specifically designed for their semis which can charge them as quickly as 15 minutes I believe, and I think they were saying you might get about 500m on a single charge (not exactly sure)
Snail With a Shotgun Yeah but what if you’re driving over steep terrain or get stuck in traffic? In imperfect driving conditions you could get screwed over and run out of range before your hours run out.
You’re killing me with the super wide turns lol. You don’t even have to really go wide with that trailer and the truck is so short.
selig stoney you have to protect the load and make sure you don’t hit anything
Connor Harris I’m a driver, I understand the concept of taking a corner with a many kinds of trailers. He’s just over doing it.

Joe Stone would you rather spend a carp ton on gas or go get the trailer at the post office early?
Joe Stone they would just charge it when they sleep.
Greene _ that too lol

I honestly thought it would take longer than that...

Why do they need a huge range? Ever buy groceries, eat fast food, eat at all, go to a drug store, buy car parts, gas, phones, Amazon, clothes............. All of that gets delivered out from a distribution center that is less than 25 miles away on average.
Leave the Long haul to the oil burners, let the city's have Tesla's.
If in the first year, the Tesla has saved enough to pay for the difference, then why wouldn't I buy it. They don't care about fuel or drivers, or appearances, they want profit.
as a real trucker, i can say the autonomous aspect is whats going to kill trucking as a job. plus the design is not very compatible with the current infrastructure of scales and truck stop parking. It seems like a good thing for efficient power, but the infrastructure changes and autonomy is whats going to kill the industry.
I think it would be good for the company because it would save them on fuel costs and pay driver more per mile but more charging stations
Man this looks so ugly and boring to drive, but btw how do you get those signs on the highway? What's the mod called?
As with anything electric, it will have its uses. Companies like ups, fedex, or local deliveries will be prime for them but i guarantee long haul and heavy haul will not be seeing these trucks on a regular basis!
100% amen.
I think we are going to start seeing those trucks catching fire most often than any other normal semi-truck.
where did you get the tesla?
The comment section makes me sick, how uninformed can people be???
Garbage
There’s no limit to ignorance.
Sounds like a electric train like london underground lol
Maybe popular in the warmer states but up here in Canada probably won’t be as popular because in winter time it gets cold as fuck so bunk heaters ect need to be running at night ect they are gunna have a lot of problems with batteries. you can never completely get rid of the good ole diesel truck.
Canadian Tesla owner telling you to think about this more. Battery capacity is big enough to run a standard Canadian home for a week. Heating a cabin is a non issue!
ETS 2 i cant find the truck in volvo dealer despite installing it correcly, its in my mods folder and at highest priority
You gotta go to the online dealer, you need 5 trucks or something like that already to do that
