So what is the oil used for anointing your forehead, serious question by the way, I'm new on my journey back to God. Is it a literal oil I need to use or is it symbolic for prayer?
Go as long as you can when you fasting stay prayerful I'm sure God will honor that. I am a diabetic I fasted about 3 hours and if the lord led you to go longer I'm sure he will give me strength to go longer.

So, when a teacher or preacher is telling you what God is saying, you need to listen, adhere, repent, follow, and believe what is written versus trying to denounce the Word judging you and others trying to inform you.
God already gave us the sacrifice through Jesus death. God doesn't demand any fasting sacrifice from us! There is no demand in the New Testament for us to fast! No demand!
