You are spot on with the Cambodia food isn’t popping as Thai and viet food. Our food is being sleep on. Hope this videos encourage many others to try it.
You need to try the Combination Banh Mi from Heng Heng, Meekathung from Phnom Penh, Prahouk Ktiss from Yummy express, loc lac from red rose, and the Papaya salad and fried wings from Viet-Thai ! 😜
Yes! I’m so glad you incorporated Lao Cuisine. You guys def went to the right spots. Grew up on eating at LaPetit and Mekong and Lanxang is my second home 🙏🏽
Love how Cambodians are like the default Asians over there🤘 Papaya salad🔥(Tum Mak Hoong & Bok La Hong) "Tum" = Pound / Smash "Mak hoong" = Papaya "Bok" = Pound / Smash "La hong" = Papaya 😆
Thanks for making this video!!! Its so good to see next generation Khmer spreading our culture and good eats. This inspired me to want to learn to cook our traditional food more.
Straight facts. Looking forward to more videos. My wife’s part Cambodian and we rarely eat Cambodian food. Her mom just makes it for us but want to try other dishes.
How cool! I’m originally from Long Beach and we have amazing Cambodian food here. I’m curious how the East coast take on Cambodian food is any different than from the West coast.
@@FakeFoodShow you shouldn’t be playing saying fuck a city. That’s just on principle. If you want to get the west coast subscribers you gotta put some Respect in that.
Cool people! I live in Fall River, MA (it has a sizable Cambodian community too). I'm Brazilian, and many of our favorite fruits are originally from Southeast Asia (banana, coconut, mango, etc), and the one I like the most is jackfruit - very popular in Brazil - and the only place I could find fresh "jáca" (as we call it back home) was at "Oriental Food Market", a Khmer owned store. Respect ✊🏼
Nice coverage I like how Cambodian food is like a good crossover between authentic aboriginal Khmer food mix with a sprinkle of Indian and Chinese influences.
The Kuyteav noodle soup ( Kway teow) is actually of teochew Chinese origin. It has nothing to do with the Vietnamese pho. Also, and mee kat tang literally means Cantonese noodles
Stockton, CA has more khmer people than Lowell. I've been to Lowell and they do have some pretty bomb khmer food but one thing I absolutely love out there that the Westcoast can't top is the sandwich! They make it the best, I still crave their sandwich till this day! The East coast papaya salad got nothing on the west coast tho and in Lowell it's harder to get certain food and vegetables so the west coast khmer food in my opinion is a bit tastier. Some of lowell people ain't never had twago (cambodian sausages) lol they have that all day in Stockton. Fun fact: people think cambodian food is influenced by other Southeast Asian countries but actually they're food are influenced by Cambodia. The Khmer empire once ruled the Southeast Asia and Cambodian food is influenced from China and India.
It’s funny that a foreigner actually be able to represent Cambodia and cambodian’s food better than their own Cambodian people. But at the same time it’s amazing 😉 that they got to know and understand Cambodian foods, great video so far guys. 👍👍👍
Digging the show young man. Love the vibes, knowledge and the energy of you and your friends. Thank you for putting people on Khmer food. Subscribed. Btw, to describe the different between kuyteav and pho is that normally kuyteav is pork based (broth & meat). In Cambodia and Vietnam this is usually how kuy teav (or hu tieu nam vang) is made there. It could have been made differently at the restaurant you went to, but the biggest thing is the condiments you add to your kuyteav and of course the fried garlic/shallots.
I'm in Dallas and there's no access to authentic Cambodian food. I literally fly my mom twice a year to cook for us. And I'll fly to her 4 times a year even if it's for one night.
I love Le Petit Cafe. It’s been open since in the 80s/ 90s. Used to be the underground gambling spot for Chess playing. Their food will always be around ❤️❤️❤️
Better try Khmer noodles (num banh chuk) this is trending in Cambodia and 100% originated from Cambodia but I dun know will it has in USA. Keep going bro from Cambodia

By the way I forgot to tell don’t leave your chop sticks like that on the bowl make sure each end is on the side of the bowl yk? Bc if you do that it means your inviting the ghost and spirit to eat your food. Chopstick can put on table if clean or on top of your bowl it’s fine if you don’t do it it’s just a chance something or someone might follow you home

Well said. To put in simple terms, Vietnamese pho is all about the broth while Cambodian kuyteav is all about the condiments.
Asher Ouk thank you bro!
Thank you! The place we went to is owned by Muslims so they don't incorporate pork in their kathew
