Seen Larry against Wrestling 2 he kept ducking out of the ring and complaining the heat was unreal and the actual match two minutes he took no real damage and people hated him!!! Amazing heel
Loved Larry as a heel (well actually thought I hated him, but that's what a heel wants), but I'm not buying his line on no one caring about Backlund. MSG cards were consistently sold out when Backlund was the headliner. I was in the Boston market so I only made it to Boston Garden shows which were also sold out and the fans were crazy for Backlund. Backlund was a great champ and perfect for that era. The move to the Hogan made complete sense and was an absolute success, but there's no way Zbyszko can say with a straight face that no one cared about Backlund. There's some sour grapes there.
if BACKLUND was selling out arenas across the NORTHEAST, then why would VINCE SENIOR want to replace him? and he's the one who choose BACKLUND to be the champion in the first place!. doesn't make sense.
I saw Larry wrestle on August 3 1974 in the very first ever wwwf match at the Philadelphia Spectrum, he beat Pete Doherty. Bobby Duncum won the 20 man battle royal and Bruno Samartino defeated Killer Kowalski
Once again, Zbysko is not accurate in regards to Bob Backlund not doing well for the WWWF as champion. A lot of us remember the crowds really popping for Backlund defeating an array of giants and heels. It was a different time.
They were there for Bruno , but they just didn't know they were watching the man that would take wrestling to the next level , and just not anybody could do the job the only other then Hogan who could've carried wrestling was the wrestler Hogan was playing Superstar Billy Graham but Shea they bring up Hogan slamming Andre the giant but Larry had his moment with Burno now Hogan had his time at every pay preview and 6 straight W.M
Big shout out to the Living Legend Larry Zbyszko

Larry, thank you for what you did (Being a great heel.) and carrying on about LarryLand.
Hogan and Andre was 1 of many good matches that night.
But, Bruno vs. Larry was by far the main reason most people were there.
Larry Zbyszko = instant heat
People watched when Larry was wrestling in hopes of seeing him get his block knocked off.
Larry Zbysko beating down Bruno is STILL top 5 heel turns of all time!
When it happened, it was number one.
Larryland was Heat City
Yep with Ole turning on Dusty and Dibiase turning on JYD
Larry is a cool guy.. Its good too know he is still with us at 72yrs old..
Glad this guy never turned into a gimmick. He was a great heel
He's absolutely correct. People only watched Hogans match against Andre to see if he could bodyslam him...

Zbyszko was one of the greatest heels of all time.
I was AT Shea stadium that night and i WASN'T there to see hulk hogan 😂😂😂😂. The cage match was the ULTIMATE DRAW!
Larry was the best Staller.
Wrestling was a Trust . A management Union

An hour and a half just on chest. Makes sense seeing as how they both looked at the time.

Larry
Larry was one of my all time favorites: i hated him so much!
Was it a sold out show at Shea or is Larry embellishing. I remember it was a good crowd but a sell out?
Hahahaha no.
