Portfolios with "Hi, I'm "name" are so stupid. Such a waste of space and screen estate. And who cares? So what? The hero should be used to make a striking statement about what you've done, who you are, and not stating something obvious from the URL you've just typed. And the world doesn't need to know "I care deeply about crafting great user experience" either. That's a bloody given. Does the plumber have "I love to plumb" on their web site? For a UX designer to do this is so counterintuitive it blows my mind. Joe Natoli writes about this and explains it far better than I could. I beg anyone that does this to take a look at the reasoning behind dropping this rubbish. Great video Punit, as always.
