FOOTAGE FROM THE MUSICAL: • Lord of the Rings Musical
[LEGOLAS]
From the west she appeared
Sunlight and stars in her hair
In her eyes an undying memory of home
A land that is magical and fair
When her feet came to rest
Deep in a canopied glade
She lifted her face and there she danced
The realm of Lothlórien she made
Gaze on me, lady of gold
Reawaken my slumbering soul
Beacon of courage, summon me home
To your haven of wonders untold
[LEGOLAS & ELVEN ENSEMBLE]
Lórien laurë
A laiqa alcar
O Ehtele lisse
Nimrodel a
Nyére auta
A Lórien laurë
A Lórien laurë
Lórien laurë
A laiqa alcar

Lothlórien
[GALADRIEL]
Oh, child of my heart
Born of a never-ending dream
You were cradled in light
Bathed in an ever-flowing stream
Flourish and grow
My mystical world
Here you will ever belong
Son of my yearning
Daughter of hope
Beautiful child of my song
Although storms may descend
Mountain and valley may quake
For the days that remain
This is the promise I make
No shadow fall across this land
Before the wind and fire I stand
And you, my child, will know no harm
Enfolded in my arms
Lothlórien
[ELVEN ENSEMBLE]
(Garden of wonder
Haven of starlight)
[GALADRIEL & ELVEN ENSEMBLE]
Forest of Light
Lothlórien
Garden of wonder
Haven of sun
Forest of light
Child of my heart
Anyone have a translation for the elvish lyrics?
Thanks I didn't know that was the lyrics I wish the song as the use for the movie that Peter Jackson made
@@thomaspetrucka9173 [Sung in Quenya]: Lorien golden light, oh green glory, o sweet fountain Nimrodel, and grief passes. Oh Lorien golden light, oh Lorien golden light, Lorien golden light, oh green glory, Lothlorien.
Galadriel's entrance will continue to be one of the most amazing theatrical moments that I have ever witnessed.
I dare say I envy you. I would love to see the musical life
@@dragonsoul123 me too!!! i just watched all three lotr movies two weeks ago, and i've been hooked! i know the musical was badly received, but i'd love to see it just for the heck of it XD. not to mention the soundtrack is beautiful!
Wish I could've been there
I so wish they would restage a production of this musical.
I remember that moment so vividly even now, years later. My mouth was hanging open in awe. How the stage was blazing with golden light as Galadriel descended and the sound of the chorus thundered through the theatre. Nothing on stage since has eclipsed it in scale or beauty since in my experience.
I have never seen this musical and only just found this song. However. After listening to this I can't tell if I want to dance, sing, cry or pass out. It sends shivers down my spine and is truly beautiful.
Emmy T I totally get what you mean!! it makes me well up!
The male singer, Legolas has such a sweet pure voice!
Its A R Rahman....
Not Orlando bloom
Thank you! I was wondering whose voice that was!

Yeah Michael rouse
I know I’m in love with his voice
oh. my. gosh. the VOCALS- i'm literally in awe. the way she sings lothlorien literally gives me chills and makes me tear up no matter how many times i listen. this is an absolutely gorgeous masterpiece.
Would have paid anything to have seen this song go on in this musical
I love the eastern bollywood influence right at the end of the song! Such a goddess! Gives her power mystery and loving nature all at once!
After 10 years I keep coming back, hoping I will get to see this for real one day
She was the mightiest and fairest of all the Eldar that remained in Middle-earth after Ereinion Gil-galad perished in Mordor, to paraphrase from the Silmarillion. She made Lothlórien into a beautiful realm in the Third Age, using Nenya the Ring of Adamant to lighten and protect it, and was de facto its queen now that the One was lost from Sauron's hands. Galadriel is not to be trifled with, even Sauron had to struggle with her powers, and she tore down the walls and foundations of Dol Guldur.
All these years and It's still just as amazing as the first time.
This song will forever give me goosebumps ❤️
Jane of the jungle.
Yes yes okk.
Galadriel’s singing, particularly the lines “no shadow fall across this land, before the wind and fire I stand” is honestly how I imagine the scene in the Silmarillion where Lúthien kicks serious ass with her song. Absolutely angelic, but undoubtedly powerful, there will be NO shadows, NO storms or darkness, and she is going to make damn sure of it. Incredible.
YES exactly
We were really lucky to see it. It was an incredible spectacle, the whole theatre deck out with vines and greenery. LOTR fans thought it was too truncated (I mean come on) and West End Wendies said it didn’t have catch enough tunes you could hum or sing on the way to work. Saints preserve us. We just loved it. So different. So brave. Magnificent.
I have this amazing song on a loop since watching the superb new version of this show at the Watermill Theatre. Such a haunting song! It is really special.
this song gives me chills every time I listen to it. I can't image how amazing it would have been to hear it live...
I was lucky enough to see it live, thought Laura Michelle Kelly was doing press for Sweeney Todd at the time, so her understudy was playing Galadriel, but she was equally incredible and it blew me away. I had been listening to this song constantly for several months before seeing the show, I could have burst with excitement when it started!
Yes yes.
Yes yes yeaah.
Always knew legolas could sing :)
Well he is an Elf of Sindar (and possibly Silvan) descent. Both descendants of the Teleri who were also called the Lindar (singers) for their love of singing. ;)
+InkedHD LeatherMan I'm making a backing track for this song to do at a show case and it's too gorgeous to not sing it...
Well he sings in the books, so...
Its singer
A R Rahman
And, of course, he's a tenor. 😂
would kill an orc for the instrumentals of this entire musical
Gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. Saw it in the west end in 2008 ..was breathtaking live ..especially LMK ..her voice ..wow!! Amazing 😍
It starts off with Michael Rouse who is just kick ass and just when you think it couldnt get any better LMK comes in and is like BOOOOM!!!! voice of a goddess. love love LOVE this song!
Makes you feel like you're in middle-earth itself.
I hope they bring this back to the stage !!
MasterHignog me too!! ❤
From your lips to Eru Iluvatar's ears, since the Watermill theatre, Berkshire is reviving it
@@utubrGaming I went to see it!! was amazing !!
every single time i listen to this song it gives me chills.... so good.
To see this live must be an eye-opener and no mistake!!
Tuc082 it was absolutely breathtaking!!! ❤❤
Have you seen it?? 😱😱😱
i went to see it when i was 14 (9 years ago) with my dad and older brother. i have always hoped it would come back around but it hasn't :( it was incredible!!
Wow, that must have been incredible. I also wish it would play again so I could see it
there was a behind the scenes from this that was on TV months before it was on stage. me and my dad watched it a thousand times and this was the only song they had released and we lived it. we listened to it so much it drove my mum crazy, then my brother got us tickets for Christmas and we went to see it that summer :)
the woman that played Galadriel was Sweeney Todd's wife in the film :) (unfortunately she was doing press for the film when we went to see it so it was her understudy on stage, but she was spectacular too!!)
I... don’t even know what to do. This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard. Ever.
I feel you so hard. When we first heard this 12 years ago we played it on repeat every single day. It's so beautiful that you're sad when it stops!
@@Accio_Eloise yeah I totally can understand that! that's so cool that you got to see this live! I bet it was really magical. thanks so much for uploading this gorgeous song- im gonna download it from iTunes.
Composed by the Indian oscar winning composer AR Rahman.
All credits are in the description.
I just found out that this musial exists. I am so upset, because I've been searching for perhaps a recording of some sort, but nothing.
I had been sobbing so hard (listening to this song), because i know I'll never have the opportunity to see such a masterpiece for my own eyes T^T
I'm so sorry :( it was beautiful and now I can't find any full recordings anywhere either. Just bad mobile phone videos and the few professional videos they did for the trailer.
I'm amazed it wasn't recorded even once.....

this is the closest I can find.
@@Accio_Eloise Thank you so so much!
AghhhH! The beauty of clashing choral notes!
I was so lucky to see the show in London and it was everything I hoped it would be. It was a beautiful and moving rendition of Tolkien’s world and I still listen to this often. In a word…MAGIC!
London got some vocals! Damn!
Love this song 💕
His voice is gorgeous.
Yep.
I love this song!!! I saw the musical twice and it was amazing both times.
I wish I could see this musical oh I wish❤
Hope everyone is doing good through the pandemic! Stay safe
Me: I won't cry this time. I won't I won't I won't!!!" * hears song and then notices hyperventilation and years streaming down face* me: fuck
I was robbed of not getting to experience this😭 I'd love a revival
So, so utterly devastated I never got to see this show :( I would have killed to see it, but I didn't know about it at the time!
I used to sing this all the time. Ah the memories ❤
This...this is just awesome, and it deserves being on Tv Tropes' "Awesome Music: Theater" page! In fact, that's where I found it! How lucky for me...
Makes me cry every single time I listen, hell I tear up just by thinking about it.
For anybody who buys this song, google "Lord of the Rings musical" an go to their official website. There will be a link to amazon to buy this cd. Then you can put it on itunes when you get it. I can't advise you to download it from youtube, as at least in the US, that's illegal.
Sadly, a dvd was never released, which is weird for a 100 million+ production, but hey, at least we have the cd.
Unfortunately the official website doesn't really exist anymore :( But the CD can still be found on amazon and eBay.
@@Accio_Eloise Not surprising after all this time I guess! I've actually still got the CD laying around somewhere.
@@thejoshknight Darn, well at least it's good to see there is recent interest in this musical. I'll find the DvD somewhere.
This is my favourite song from the musical! There are other brilliant ones but this is just incredible :)
I sang this for an audition and got such an awesome reaction! x
@@GraceMcMusic Really?! That's amazing! Well done :) Do you have a video of it?
@@Accio_Eloise unfortunately no :( but if i can find a karaoke or instrumental version I will FOR SURE cover it again :)
I don't know about you guys, but I hear Marian Diamond's voice who played Galadriel in the 1981 BBC lotr Radio version!
AMAZING!!!!!!!! I've been in love with this song consistently for a year straight! :D
This song gives me chills.
Galadriel did not 'create' Lothlorien, but she did indeed make it into the forest we see during the times of the Lord of the Rings. Her power combined with her ring changed and preserved the land. She is the 'Mother of Lotholrien'.
I'm not quite sure we should consider this show canon
this song is so beautiful
This is so beautiful! Needs more appreciation in my opinion 😄
@RybakAndEdenLover Her voice really is incredible! I think annyyone would kill to have a voice like her ♥♥
First song I heard before even going to see it and I loved it to pieces :D
Yeees.
what a cool song!!! it's the one i want to listen all of the time.
Y does legolas alway have to sound and be so damn sexy!!!! I mean in the movie he's like über sexy and in his song his voice is totally gorgeous!!!!!

EPIC!!
P.S. Galadriel DID make Lothlorien!
is amazing song :3
@HisForeverr
Ow I had that too! It felt so amazing. I listend to it every single day! My mother suprised my with musical tickets and a trip to London! I cried of happiness XD
We live in The Netherlands.
❤❤❤
Who wouldn't? :D ♥
@DutchyDubs My mum was getting sick to the back teeth of hearing it x) My brother got me and my Dad tickets as a surprise for Christmas :), we were like "NO WAYY!" :D That's a faaaiirr present for you though, when you live in the Netherlands too! :D ♥
I love this song, but my main question is why Legolas is the one singing it! Surely it should be Gimli?
Legolas is singing the story of Galadriel as the elves would tell it, rather than just singing about how beautiful she is in that moment :) More of an introduction for the fellowship :)
Does anyone know where I can download this song? (Checked iTunes, and beemp3) I can't seem to find it anywhere..help??
@HisForeverr
I know! I felt so lucky! I enoyed every minute of it! :D
@JediNinjaKenderGirl And so you should be!!! :D This was the one song I was addicted to before I'd even seen the play, good memories :')
@Laurinawen yes she did.
Yeeees yes yeaah okkk ookk yeeeaaah so cool ao so much.
she did too!!! i have tons of wittnesses
@Laurinawen Dunno 'bout that one. What if he meant it like how we say "you made my day", you know? I think that's what he's saying - like Lothlorien would not be as amazing or wonderful without her in it, which is a nice sentiment. I don't know, ignore me.
@ristychan It still gives me chills too, and I've probably heard it a thousand times! It was just incredible :) I really hope they come back to London but I don't know if the show is still running now T_T
Guys, i need to know what elrond says in the lord of the rings: conquest game when summoned, it's a battle cry which is not the same as the battle cry in theb attle of the last alliance, but smthng different and i need to knw wht he says and wht it means plz
@HisForeverr
O yeah! I know that video! I always do the 'hey hey hey hey hooohoo!' part with them XD
