Watch 7 Ultra is the successor to Watch 5 Pro, so no bezel. Also, the design is not a copy of Apple but just an enhancement to Galaxy Gear Sport launched over half a decade ago.

Doesn't have the battery life though as the watch5 pro can get 5 days of battery life if you disable the gimmicky health crap. The Galaxy watches are still laggy AF.
No it's not, it's based off of the Apple Watch Ultra, companies don't just randomly use designs from 6 years ago after their competitors have been using it as their chief design. Don't kid yourself man lol

Well considering I've been using Gear Sport for 6 years now & didn't feel bad about the quircle shape, I think the white Ultra is beautiful & I actually pre-booked it too with a few straps😎

I'm not buying into the whole "Samsung stole Apple's design" due to Samsung had a watch that looks like the Watch7 Ultra. It was called the Samsung Gear Sport. So maybe Apple stole some design ques first.

It's been gone already lol. Watch 5 pro doesn't have one which is what this watch is replacing.

I was looking forward to upgrade my Watch 5 Pro... but I personally think this looks ugly. The regular Watch 7 looks better but has a smaller battery than what I already have. I am bummed out, I wanted to upgrade but not to this. Maybe if it had a rotating bezel I could look past the looks. The older Pro 5 has the same batter size as the 7 Ultra in a sleeker frame.
My exact situation! I'm trying to convince myself to upgrade to the ultra but I have the 5 pro as well so I'm like hmmm idk 🤔 plus the 5 pro will get the update eventually so I may just stick with my 5 pro.... I did get the Galaxy buds 3 tho 😅

I was going to upgrade from the Watch5 Pro to the GW7 Ultra (Ugly) but the watch looks hideous. I don't like the watch design and the bands look cheap with their ugly colors. The watch looks like it came off the Walmart $10.00 watch store rack. No way would I pay $650.00 for the GW7 Ugly. I am seriously considering purchasing the OnePlus 12 phone along with the OneWatch 2. OneWatch 2 is half the price, has a luxurious look, and has 100 hr battery life. No way would I wear an orange band watch with a dress jacket at a formal outing. I would even consider a Huawei GT 3/4 series watch for less money. Samsung lost me as a customer.

Design is a personal preference. I think the watch 7 ultra looks great!
Traded in my watch 5Pro. Also, I had pre-registered for the $50 discount no commitments.
Out the door the watch 7 Ultra was $261. No brainer for the upgrade at this price point with all the new features and next gen processor.
Hoping Samsung knocked it out of the park with the responsiveness and battery efficiency.
And now that bezel. I have the Watch 6 Classic in silver for the office and social events. It's a great looking watch and I get lots of compliments. One UI6 beta (2nd round) has improved the battery life too! I can go with or without a bezel. Why? Because the bezel only rotates your quick settings and tiles horizontally. You still have to touch the screen, swiping up/down and tapping.
Now, if Samsung wants to go the distance and be like Garmin (already halfway there, ...body battery, e-hem..looks very familiar), then Samsung can use the three buttons to fully navigate the watch without any touch screen interaction. This would be like the Garmin Epix with the Amoled screen. You use touch screen and/or use buttons to fully navigate the watch. Galaxy Watch 8 Ultra. Let's go!
Also, that center quick button could be for rotating but then that's totally Apple isn't it. I don't care. Companies copy each other all the time. Let's get the best of the best. Again, I am okay without the bezel or rotating crown button. Looking forward to trying out the 7 Ultra!
I agree! I've owned several samsung watches.. usually pre-order the latest one every year. Currently, I own 2 galaxy watch 6 classics. I LOVE the rotating bezel and was very disappointed at the lack in this one . Also, the design hasn't convinced me yet!
Nonetheless, I decided to order it and see if I like it in person . If I do, I'll trade in one of my galaxy watch 6 .😅

Yeah, reverse wireless charging won't work. I don't use it much, so it's not a big deal for me. If it's something you rely on, you might want to rethink.
Hi sal ,it's interesting to note that the rumoured price in the uk £699 turned out to be £599 ,I traded in my 6 classic , amd I added another strap at half price ,I paid £441 , Not bad really. I think tje roating bezel being a moving part would have compromised the rugged nature
You make a good point. Given its focus on athletes, it makes sense that they opted not to include a rotating bezel.
Been long time Samsung watch guy. Still rocking the Watch4 but would love to have Samsung bring back the watch camera from Gear 2. I used that thing so much for taking photos of receipts and short videos of when my kids were small. I get it though, some places of business can't have that sort of thing for corporate espionage.

The watch 7 Ultra looks nice but I only have one question does it get overheat during calls and shut down this has been a bug for the watch series the last past years LTE versions shut down during calls
I've had the Gear S, Galaxy Watch, Pro 5, 6 Classic all in LTE versions. Your comment is the first I've ever read of that "issue."
U must have a faulty unit, I use calls in a sauna and is fine, never incr had a shutdown

It's definitely an upgrade with better battery life and new health features. But it really comes down to what you want. If you're happy with your Watch 6 Classic, I'd say stick with it. Only upgrade for the battery life if that's a big deal for you. If you're fine with the battery on your Watch 6 Classic, there's no need to change in my opinion.

Does it still have the crappy 60 Hz screen, or have they upped to 90 or 120 Hz? I've tried the previous Galaxy Watches and they're lagging when you're using them. Like a phone from 2008.
But does it have "shortcut" demands like Apple? Entire reason I'm hesistant to go back to Android watch (but have S24U).
Tried it in store today. It feels good. The lack of rotating bezel is a turn off from the 6 classic. The vibration motor is so so good!!.

what's the point of having a circle display if it has no rotating bezel?
no depth sensor for diving ... no physical scroll (extra button doesnt scroll, bezel doesnt rotate) this means no way to activate it in water/sweat
Sleep apnea tracking is useful to way more people than those who scuba dive. The Samsung is more appealing.

Crazy that Samsung has got rid of the rotating bezel with this latest watch. I've the Watch 6 Classic and the bezel is just as smooth as when I first got it.

I can't stress this enough, how important the new sleep apnea detection feature is, as the vast majority of people with sleep apnea are not even aware they have it. I got myself the Galaxy fit 3 smart band just to keep a track on my sleep, since I constantly feel tired, and apparently I don't enter deep sleep stage AT ALL, which suggest I may have sleep apnea. However, this watch is WAY out of my budget, but if I could afford it, I'd get it on the spot just because of that feature

I am not sure if 47mm body will fit for all wrist sizes. Watch 7 doesn't have black color, only green and silver. Is samsung forces buyers to go with ultra if they want black color watch?
I have had Samsung Frontier all the way up to Galaxy watches.
They look aesthetically good but sucks in their software that tends to deteriorate after each upgrade.

I want the galaxy watch ultra but I don't wanna have to set up another line for, if they made a Bluetooth model, as well as the LTE model, i would've been hyped for it, but there's goes my dream of owning a GW Ultra
I like the look of the watch, but I am wondering if all of the watches features are still disabled for phones other than Samsung? If it is, then I will stick with my Google Pixel watch. That Android watch is fully functional paired with my ROG phone. I can live with the short battery life as long as I have all the functions of my smartwatch.
I don't really have a use for this super sporty watch, but it looks cool. I think the design is more refined and bold than the Apple Watch in the same category.

I really like Samsung Watch Ultra but I have Wtch 6 and plan to keep it. I may switch in a year or two. Siren can be used to scare wild animals (bears, wolfs etc.) during outdoor activity.
The Samsung watch 7 ultra design is a similar shape to buds live,buds 2 case and more ,turn the case over...circle meets ultra...

The Samsung watch just adds hardware sensors that usually will not work in many countries, as it will not be supported... The rotating bezel was the main selling point for the watch, which is gone on the new watches.

If only there was a real scuba diving function like the Apple watch. Whole new market segment that Garmin and Suunto occupy and where consumers are really into multi sport functions.
Rotating bezel not a go with a rugged watch thats in many different environments like salt water, sand, dirt ect. Don't want grim and grit getting under rotating bezel causing damage rotating.

The battery capacity on the 7 ultra is the same as the 5 pro, which is 590 mAh. The 7 ultra should have had a higher capacity battery since it costs more.

Where did you see the 15W charging speed? It is listed as 10W on Samsung website... Just any other galaxy watch.... No improvement there....
