@TVsGringoStarr if you're a Bama fan or an SEC fan then I see your point, but from every other college program, for their fans, he was just because of how good he was. We played him twice and won one and lost one.
I wouldn't say "never be duplicated"...records are made to be broken. Plenty of young talented HCs out there now. Eventually, Saban's numbers will be matched or topped. Might not be in our lifetime, but it will happen.

We witnessed this right after the late Bear Bryant retired in 1983. The first three coaches were crucified by the fans. It won't be the same because no one does or will do it better than Saban. He's an old dude. Take it easy
I dont think it has anything to do with competition. It is likely because he is like 72 and wants to spend time with his family before dies and not have the stress of coaching a college football team.
Lmao who the hell wants to deal with all this bullshit in cfb rn? U see harbaugh leaving and saban it won’t suprise me if kirby leaves too. It’s just the cfb calendar for coaches is insane
He was just as dominant with all the bs. 3 of the last 4 sec championships. Coaching in college is harder than the nfl at the moment with the awful schedule.
I’m assuming you’re gonna be working well past age 72?
Lou, you've pissed me off endlessly, but brother, this speaks volumes! From a Bama fan let me say this, your Top Shelf in this video!
Hope your Dawgs fill the void buddy, keep on keeping on.
as a Michigan guy who doesn't like Bama, but could listen to Saban speak all day....simply the best to ever do it.
Much respect for Saban from this Dawgs fan.
Ima miss Saban, he’s been my coach my whole life pretty much. My stomach is in knots but I’m also excited for the future.
Impossible to replace. Roll tide. Thanks Coach saban. Roll tide
Saban da goat. Nothing but best wishes for him. Gumps congratulations on the historic run. But remember college football continues.
52 years as a Bama fan. I'm also 52 years old . I remember the 1980s. The 3 Mike's. No matter who they get, I will still be a Bama fan.
Can't lie after hearing about Coach Carroll, I didn't expect this. Happy 4 Coach Saban, his family & all.
Hes finally coming home! Greatest of all time! for now... GO DAWGS!!!
This is why everybody loves your channel no matter what team they pull for. Straight up unbiased, hard-core college football truth. We are going to miss you when you retire.
Didn’t see that coming but kudos to him on an amazing coaching career he’s had. He is the GOAT
Thanks, coach. And thank you, WOU
I'm a Vols fan but I like Nick Saban.... He is by far the greatest college football coach....
Best news ever as a Dawg fan
We love coach Saban and we'll certainly miss him. I'm glad he's retiring. I'd rather see him enjoy his golden years. Thanks coach.
Thank you transfer portal and NIL.
As a volunteer fan I wanna be celebrating but I can’t rn. Crazy to watch the goat in my lifetime
Absolutely love/hate relationship with Saban. The GOAT. We were blessed to witness it even if it meant watching our team get crushed by him and having our hearts broken over and over and over again. Enjoy your golden years. Honestly, this is the best year for such a transition. No one could ever fill his shoes, but with the changes to the SEC and the 12 team playoff, you don't have to. You can try to make your own shoes. Go Dawgs.
Happy retirement Nick!
Tennessee fan here Im not sure how to feel I like it but damn it I really hate it. He is 1 of a kind there will never be another one like him ever. He is the Goat hands down and I don't think anyone will even come close to doing what he did. I respected the hell out of him I hated to losing to him but I really hate to see greatness step away because it was amazing to see.
No matter who you are a fan of you have to appreciate greatness. Roll tide
You know Lou I'm old and remember the bad years. So thank you Coach Saban.
Straight to TV or The First CFB Commissioner!!!! Thanks for all the good times Coach! Roll Tide!
Thansk Coach for everything🏆 enjoy retirement!
Wow. That's a shock. We will see. WHAT happens. My hats off to the BEST
Lanning from Oregon is the favorite right now, rumor is they've already been in talks
As a UK fan and just a college football fan, it's been an amazing run to watch. Much respect to the GOAT.
As a lifelong Bama fan who lived through the Bryant Era & now the Saban Era...I can truly say those were the BEST OF TIMES & my sister's last memory was knowing we were going to rematch with UGA having won the CFP semi-final game prior to it & went out a winner. Of course UGA won it's first title in 41 years but she wasn't around to know it. Wish Nick could've waited & given me some distance from her death to do it...but as Nick's said in times past...IT IS WHAT IT IS. I've lived & enjoyed a great ride most college football fans have never experienced & I consider myself blessed. ROLL TIDE & GODSPEED COACH SABAN & thanks for 17 memorable years.
Thank You Lou. You are the first video I went to. Always loved your content. Roll Tide Go Dawgs. See You in the Fall.
He the greatest to ever do it congrats go dawgs
My love for Alabama was in 91 with Stallings! Saban put the cherry on top for me anyway!
RTR 🐘 🐘
Much respect and best wishes. Coach Saban thank you and good luck in the future .
